I just saw the movie ad in SG. Is this film based on the Japanese film "Ju-On" ?

Everytime Hollywood tries to re-make a horror film based on an Asian one, it always turn out dissapointing . . .

yes it is. they kept the same cast, but put american actors in lead roles.

I'm looking foward to this movie, along with Saw.

If i ain't wrong the director was the same person who directed Ju-On, so just a remake for the Western market.

Yup it is the remake of Ju-on (one of the alltime scariest horror movie)....

yeah hollywood does mess up when they do remakes of asian movies.... I wonder why? difference in culture and ideas of the films ??

saw-- ah that film is just so genius, so many twists and the thing at the end is so unexpected

Is it the Ju-On trilogy packed in one movie or another sequel ? Cos` from the last Ju-On movie, the demon was reborn in a form of a little girl and so the curse continues.

are there 3 Ju-On movies? I thought there were only 2 and that the second one came out this year in Japan :confused:

Well I do remember I watched three DVD`s . . . But maybe they split the second series into two parts :confused:

Let`s see :
- the first one is with that girl who climbs up the stairs in the house but she has no jaws . . .
- the second one is the one with some stories about some girls students tryin` to have fun in the haunted house only to end up dead . . .
- and the third one is about the horror show casts who took some shoots for a show in the house only to end up dead too . . .

oh yes, I remember. the first one ever was made for TV. and the second one is like a remake with some added subplots I think.
and then the third one came out this year or last year but is called Ju On 2.

I havent seen any of them but Ive read about it.

the movies ttile makes it sound good but looking at previes it looks corny:rolleyes: if rate this 7/10

I might see it tonight. It looks so damn good.

I dunno, The Ring was horrible in my opinion, got nowhere near the original.

Although if it is the original director who is directing here, it might be worth a look.

just saw it. havent seen the japanese version but I didnt like this one. the score was really telling you in advance when the scares would come and you'd jump and then laugh.

and the story was stupid with everything happening because of Bill Pullman :| (N)

it hasnt been a real horror movie in a while, and this one wasnt one, just because they put together scenes that make you jump and scream it doesnt mean that the movie is good.
and also, being PG13, we dont get to see how any of them died, and no T&A either. that sucked big time :(


TCM 2003 was the last great horror movie IMO ***

this blows man, these ******* moviemakers make all these movies pg 13 so they can make more money but it ruins the quality of movies. like AvP could have been a real good movie but everybody wanted gore and fights and blood. with this movie i wanted some bloody deaths... come on man they hype it up... house full of ghosts and curses, well **** i wanna see someone ******* get cut up and their guts and blood all over the walls... or at least make me scared psychologically or something... but i still want to come out of the theater insane... stupid movies.
