Now before anyone starts bashing me, i'll just like to point out this is MY OPINION.

Now after playin FIFA 2005 for about 2 days, i'll have to admit its one of the best FIFA game gameplay wise. the game has a massive improvement in terms of gameplay this year and it seems that EA have listened to some of the issues that many of their fans have pointed.

However, why is that anytime they do something good, there just totally forget about the other aspects of the game. My point is that although they improved the game in the aspect that matters the most (gameplay) but the presentation and atmosphere as taking a step back.

Firstly, the menus, although better than FIFA 2004, are not still as fluid as the past games. its a small point, i know, but it still helps the total package

Also, ingame, what happened to the "we want it to be like you are watching a game live on TV" idea. No confirmation, except through commentary, when substitutions take place or no indication of a player getting injured anymore (you have to find out for yourself which IMO is poor) Also, i remember the old days of FIFA where there were cinematics for substitutions taking place and that would have help the presentation of the game.

Also, the commentary seems to get worse every year. its a rehash of last years commentary with some dialogue taking out and some put in. Commentary was one of the good thing about FIFA but it is truly appaling in comparison to what we know EA can deliver. the commentary is now almost as bad as the PES commentary and thats shocking.

Also, the atmosphere in the stadiums need to be worked on. the volume is not just enough for some stadiums. places like Old Trafford, San Siro etc. are almost never dull in any real life game but it sounds extremely dull in FIFA 2005

Just my 2 cents really.

The subtistution cinematic is really something I miss, or at least the bubble that informed us about the subtistution, as well as when it came to an injury. I've asked a person of EA TechSupport (which by the way have a very good speed at replying and are very helpful if you explain clearly to them your point) and I'm waiting for an answer.

As for the sounds, there are some programs out there (look for Sound Configurator or something in the Download Center) as well as sound patches that fix the volume. It just needs some research, not that I'm making up for EA. I'm just saying it's a resolvable issue.

I don't know if this is possible but since there is a way to add Refs into the game by adding the necessary lines to the config file, can the same be done for a substituion window??

See that's gonna be tough. I've tried stating my opinion numerous times very maturely (just as you have done), but some little immature children you'll encounter on these boards will bash you anyway. Pay no attention to them, their posts are meaningless...

Nevertheless, I agree with your post.

What's up with that "absolute broadcast feature"? I guess another method to lure in the naive ones.

NO CINEMATICS AND NO TEXT SAYING SUBSTITUTIONS!!

next they are gonna add a really cool new feature like "Be individual player and play their career" while they take out fundamentals like the ref, goalies, THE BALL?

One thing in Fifa I've noticed that really gets on my nerves is the lack of a "player search" feature when you want to buy a player to improve you're squad in career mode. I once tried to buy Beckham, but he wasn't at Madrid anymore and their isn't a player search feature to help me find him, so that's it, I can't buy him, unless I search every team in the game. :kader:

The commentary reallly really sucks, i mean , on the 98 or 2000 i thouhg that was great, of course, it was the firs days that i heard about the fifa series but 5-6 years from them the commentary are nearly the same thing!.

I mean, the game improve a lot but this aspect of the game is always on the same point. At least they could change the words or phrases.

The subs text missing is amzing, when you playing online you never know if the other team has made a substitution, amazing, at least a quick text.

Another thing is that there should be an option to take cinematic out if you dont want to see it.

And different cinematcis on gols, i mean, the guy that score celebrate the goal in the same way if is winning 5-0 1-0 or making a goal losing 1-7.

I say bring back the FIFA 99 menus and soundtrack, they were by far the best in the FIFA series.
