Third place teams in first group phase of CL got a place in UEFA cup, I think this is a good system because it ensures that good teams play in the UEFA cup, making the competition more interesting.

Good teams already do play in the UEFA Cup and you mean the best teams then they are supposed to be in the Champions League and not the UEFA Cup.
The UEFA cup isnt Europes premier cup so why do the premier teams get a second chance???

Uefa cup is a joke point.I dont think Juve fans cared about Uefa,here are some interesting facts.Juve vs celta vigo at Stadio delle alpi-9034 spectators only,meanwhile Juve vs Verona in serie A at stadio delle Alpi-28734 spectators.I guess what im trying to say is that the fans from turin dont care about cup matches except when they play in Champions league or Serie A.

Funny that you think so, especially now. Why didn't you voice your opinion earlier, like when they went from the CL to uefa ?? And why single out Arsenal when other teams had the same good fortune, although they couldn't capitalize on it ? Are you perhaps scared that Arsenal might steal Leeds's thunder ?

Anyway, I think it's a joke that Leeds are in the uefa cup, I mean they only ended 4th in the prem league last year. But, oh, wait a minute, the rule says that if you end 4th you play UEFA, just like the rule says if you end 3rd in the CL 1st phase you play UEFA. This wasn't made up after Arsenal ended 3rd, but was done well in advance.

As for it being a good system or not, I think the CL is flawed in that it's not the Champs league but the Champs 'and runners up and possible third placed' League. CL should only have the champs of each league, the rest should all play Uefa.

Canoe: I agree with antithesis, Don't get so hung up on the name "Champions League" the purpose of this competition is to have the best teams in Europe play vs. each other, not only "champions", they could change the name to Super League or whatever, in the end it dosn't matter what it's named.

Also to that person who was talking about how Juventus fans don't care about UEFA, I agree with you but they don't really care about Champions League either then because I clearly remember Feyenoord-Juve game in Champions league 2 years ago when there were about 5 thousand people in the stadium. Also do you remember the AC Milan-Rosenborg game, when Milan got knocked out? San Siro was more than half-empty. So the question as to why tifosi stay away, I don't really know, maybe they like to watch on tv rather than go to the stadium, or maybe they are not as die hard fans as they would like to think they are.
