Just a couple of questions. I've never had a full version of the game (only played the demo of this year's FM and last year's CM) but am definitely thinking about ordering it from England (who knows when or if it'll be out in Canada!).

Does the game simulate every league's matches? Just wondering about that, cuz it seems like it would take a LONG LONG time to do all that.

Does anyone ever just manage a national team? I noticed you can do that in the demo, if you choose to. Just wondering cuz I'd love to lead Canada to the World Cup. :crazyboy: (not bloody likely I know!)

If you start the game unemployed, how long does it take to actually become a manager? I'm intrigued by this feature as it seems a bit more realistic to start at the bottom if you're a "nobody". :D

I thought I had more q's but I can't remember now. (H)

You can choose not to simulate all the games other than the divisions you selected by not selecting extra detail when you're starting a game.

Yah you can manage a national team not sure about Canada though. For once you get to arrange your own friendlies. (H)

No idea about the third question.

I tried the unemployment option as well, twice. Took me 6 weeks to get a job at Farnborough, and only 3 days to get into FC Dordrecht in Dutch 1st div. :crazyboy:

I have a question regarding national team managers.

I'm already managing Liverpool in the EPL in my 2nd season. But i want to manage a NT as well. Is it like the good ol' CM01/02 where you can manage both?

Also, do the vacancies appear under the links 'Manager' then 'Jobs'? Cause i havent seen any NT jobs there.

Thanks.

You can do both NT and club. i had that before i installed 5.0.2 and the game started dying :(

there will generally be NT jobs only after a major tournament or something. but occasionally a manager retires.... so its good to watch out for that

Do they come up under the 'Jobs' link? Or do i have to scour elsewhere?

Also, how long does it take to retrain a player to a new position before it shows up?

Is it possible to be asked to become a NT manager, instead of waiting for a vacancy?

I'm guessing no. Unless you have just started a new game and select the desired NT to manage.

I got offered the Serbia and Montenegro job out of the blue. I am now managing West Ham (treble winners this year) and England (3rd in the WC, I hate you Germany!)

On 03/04 I was managing one of the Russian teams, about my third season through when I was offered to manage Russian NT. I guess it depnds on how well your team is doing and ur stats (I was doing great winning evrything in Russia). Don't think SI changed anything in this direction.

They can offer you the job. You dont need to apply for it. But most of the time they'll offer you the job after they fired the other guy. Sometimes that happens in the same day though. You gotta have a good reputation.
