We must win this. 1-0. 2-0. I don't care if the goal is going to come from a deflection of all 11 Spurs players or the ball hits Thierry in the hand and goes in or WHATEVER. We must win this to get our season back on track.

Jens
Lauren-Kolo-Cygan-Ash
Fred-Vieira-Cesc-Jose
Robin-Thierry

I honestly hope Robin gets a start, Dennis needs a rest and I doubt Bob will start. He's in a real mess.

Gilbert, Clichy and Sol still out. Edu played well in midweek but he broke his toe. Cesc to start.

..Funny how nobody mentions Ali in the injury list anymore. :p

Form goes out the window for derby games, either side can win it. If Spurs are going to beat Arsenal then this may be their best chance since Campbell is out injured, how long will he be out for?

Arsenal will win, I'm quite sure about that.

It's also a home game for Tottenham. Not Arsenal v. Tottenham. :|

is Santini being paid at all for his services at Tottenham? Wasn't there a stipulating in his contract that said if he resigned while Tottenham were in bottom half of the table he wouldn't see a cent? please confirm if this is true and tell me if he saw any money at all.

Apparently its true that he won't get a penny. The twat probably thought he could take up the job and then leave with £3m of the supporters money.

I'd use

Jens; Lauren, Kolo, SWAT, Ash; Freddie, Pat, Cesc, RvP; DB10, Tel

Alumina (sp); IMoM, Reyes, Senderos, Clichy/Pennant

Use the iceman because Spurs will be happy to sit back and take a point away, because they're down at the moment, even if it's a North London derby. Dennis can cut up defenses better than any player we have with his passing.

Fabregas is 17. :|

I didn't say I wanted him to play I was merely suggesting he is a prospect and option for the future. He scored twice against an EPL team with one of the best defences this season, albeit in a league cup.

have you got a problem with his name? is it because he's Italian? explain yourself.

Dude, what the **** are you on about? Read my post properly you nutcase. Fabregas has experience in the EPL, throwing him into a derby isn't as risky as throwing Arturo in.

Typical glory hunting comments from a typical glory hunter, always banging on about success and how much a team sucks if they aren't top of the league. Jealous of an AUSTRALIAN glory hunter?, no, unlike you I live near my club and I get to see them live, so take your glory hunting comments elsewhere because I don't respect your opinion.

I love Spurs because they are my team, I couldn't care less what division or what level they play at, thats the sign of a true fan whether you are a Man United fan or a Leyton Orient fan, supporting qualities you sadly lack.

I tried to get tickets in July, but they was sold out even then and I can't buy a season ticket because I work some saturdays. I'm going to the Spurs-Chelsea game, so I'm not too bothered.

Anyway, once again Spurs gift Arsenal with a goal by once again giving the ball away in defence, thats now 3 goals we have gifted them this half. It's over.

EDIT: Once again we lose the ball in defence and gift Arsenal another goal, thats 4 goals gifted by our defenders, if we defended better and just whacked the ball clear instead of playing casual when in possesion at the back we would have won.

The defending by Spurs was terrible. Atleast 4 of the goals were scored resulting by one of the Spurs defenders losing it at the back, then Arsenal of course scored with there usual clinical finishing. On the other hand, isn't it good to see sloppy defending and see such an entertaining 9 goal thriller, than to see a boring 0-0 defence minded stalemate?.

Overall I'm generally pleased, we scored 4 goals against Arsenal and we played with drive and passion, our season should pick up now. Congrats to Arsenal.

Ratings then!

Jens: 6. Superb save at the start but letting in 4 goals is not funny.

Lauren: 8. He was ******* class today. Did practically everything right and what a penalty.. Hope to see him keep it up.

Kolo: 6. I don't know what was he doing today. I think this game was his first "bad" game since the start of last season.

Cygan: 5. Quite ****e today. I shall say no more.

Ash: 7. Ran a lot. Not much defensive work to do, though. Actually, I don't remember much of him in this game except him attack a lot.

Fred: 9. ******* class! One of our best, if not the best, players out there today. Happy for him on getting the goal.

Cesc: 8. His passing is brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Got outmuscled on many occasions but then he's only 17. Solid performance by our Spanish prodigy again.

Paddy: 7. Improving. Still needs to get stuck in a bit more cus Cesc ain't gonna win anything given his size. Good job on getting the goal.

Jose: 6. Very disappointing. Nothing like the Jose we saw at the start of the season. Got kicked a lot again. They just love kicking him.

Dennis: 6. Very quite. Don't remember him doing much. Should make way for Robin.

Thierry: 7. Not exploded yet but soon.. Soon. Great control for his goal.

Bob: 7. ******* great goal. We started passing the ball a lot more when Bob came on, great work between him and Ash again. Damn, I love him. :D

Robin: 6. No time to impress but the kick to the sack was just.. (H) Someone's gotta get me a video of that, I need to set it as my avatar.

Overall we played ok, can't complain, we scored 5 times. But our defending from setplays and our defence in general today. Hrm.

I guess the Spuds fans can't complain too much either, don't think they expected too much out of this game anyway.

Yep and as a result of "crappy defending" it produced the most exciting game of the EPL this season and the most exciting game for a long time. Yes it was a great advertisement for English football, the match showed passion, drive and a sh!t load of goals, isn't entertainment the most important aspect of watching a game?.

Manure fans' think a great advertisement of English football is playing kick the player and diving in a heated match. The fact that this was a derby where both teams hate each other and they both end up playing an entertaining game is what makes people football fans. If only the Arsenal v Manure match could be this good.

 What does that have to do with anything? Does someone (you perhaps) have an inferiority complex?

Just got back from watching the game at the pub and it was great... Spurs never gave up and for that I'm happy... they're clearly a team who doesn't "suck" otherwise they would've been relegated years ago.

Our defense has not looked as organized lately as they did earlier in the season although this may be due to the changes in management that have shaken the team up recently. I think Jol will continue to improve this team... bottom line is Spurs need to buy a good central midfielder to anchor the team and give good service to Keane, Defoe and Kanoute... these guys can score when given the chance.

Yeah Carrick has been good... the pass he served up to Keane in the League Cup game was sweet and a preview of things to come hopefully... I just think Spurs could use an experienced big name player in the center with him.

Mendes has been great and it's too bad Atouba is out because he adds a dimension to their game as well but I like what I've seen from Brown and Ziegler their youth bodes well for our future.

of corse take the worst period of time of arsenal's games

why dont u include the whole season:
Arsenal = +20
Chelsea = +17

how many games have chelsea scored 4 or more goals in the premiership? 3
and arsenal? 5

and including 3 goals:
chelsea 3
arsenal 9
if u include champs league, that becomes 5-9. and now what do u have to say?

I reckon Mourinho should just shut his face:| nobody asked what his thoughts were on this game. So he should just shut up and concentrate on his making sure his team does its job. You didn't hear Arsene Wenger saying "Chelsea aren't a team, they're just a bunch of mercenaries. $300 million isn't a football team budget, it's a number straight out of a monopoly game."

and I'm not just saying this because I'm an Arsenal fan. If Wenger said this I would say that he should really keep his opinions to himself when he wasn't asked.

acmilan101
14-11-2004, 01:46:PM
Mourinho is a rival manager, of course he's going to criticse the rival team. He's trying to give Chelsea a psychological edge by implying that they are better than Arsenal. It's smart. It's obviously bothering those connected with Arsenal as well (i.e. YOU).

...and you say he wasn't asked on his thoughts, well he probably was by a reporter.

I'm not happy with conceding four goals, but any win would have been good in this one and so I'm pleased. Too bad Arsenal had to let one in from a set piece again, though.

Yes, both teams' defences were terrible, but that's pretty much the only way you get these kind of scorelines in modern day football. It was exciting and entertaining but not exactly a world-class performance by either team, but I disliked Mourinho's comment because entertainment is just as big a part of the game as defending.

I was glad to see Pires get a goal, it will do good for his confidence as he's going through a bit of a bad spell, I'd like to see Reyes get a goal soon as well for the same reason. The other left-sided player in the game, Ziegler, looks like a good prospect for Spurs.

There's so much fighting going on here that I might just find some other forum where the focus of discussion is on the game.

That's an ignorant comment... what if you say without Henry or Reyes Arsenal suck? Not true eh since there's much more talent on that team... same goes for Chelsea when you've got players like Duff, Gudjonsen, Terry, Cech, Kezman, Makelele, Smertin and Lampard.

Good teams don't rely on 1 or 2 players.

Lampard is the kind of center midfielder I'm talking about... if only he played in the Spurs center midfield... that would rock :rockman:
