Their scores can usually be trusted. They gave WE8 34/40.

I can confirm that there is NO slowdown WHATSOEVER in this game. Not ever.

And trust me, I've seen enough of it in WE8 and PES4 so I know what's up. I'm so relieved.



More impressions later. They're VERY GOOD though.

I'll just say this. It's like getting your hands on the perfect WE7IJ/WE6FE after the dissapointing PES3/PES2

Yes, the slowdown appears to have finally been sorted.

The gameplay is slower than WE8/PES4 but that may be down to the fact that the players have much lower attributes in WE8J. The players really are pretty crap, poor first touch, poor control, poor passing, poor shooting.....it's just like the Scottish Premier League but in slow-mo.

Certainly not worth buying if you've already got WE8/PES4, unless your name is Jumbo, in which case this game kicks ass and makes WE8/PES4 look like crap :rolleyes: .

i still undecided on getting this. confused as some people are saying it nothing special why others are saying it is brilliant.

You're in denial coz you know PES4 sucks compared to J-L but you know you wanna play PES4 on your PC so you're telling yourself it's not that bad, etc. etc.

Hell, apart from better gameplay, there's 11 new stadiums, that alone makes it BETTER.

With the right patch, this will be the best WE ever.

Just like PES3 was worse than WE7IJ and PES2 than WE6FE/WE6J-L.

no slowdowns? so Seabass talking that "you may occured some slowdowns, it was due to PS2 limitations" was just bolox? seemingly pes4 slowdowns weren't due to PS2 limitations if:

- they could make the same game without slowdowns (WE8:IJ)
- they are gonna make PES5 still on PS2

Man, I just had the greatest thing happen to me.

The CPU intercepted my ball in the midfield. So, he got the ball, looked around, everyone of his teammates was marked by my players. He took the ball back to his own half. He made a little space for himself, drew my defenders away from his players and then passed. It was brilliant.

And since we're on the topic of A.I. - J-League has the best defensive algorithims ever. The dribbling in this game has been decreased to mininum. I mean, you can still sucessfully dribble but if your player's got good skills. The A.I. intercepts a lot, and tackles with wih a 95% accuracy. They mark a lot now. It is so hard to break thru the defense, even against weak teams. You gotta actually think what you're gonna do now.

And no, you're not gonna see this in PES4. :)

Next, I've noticed a couple of nice goals - over the keeper, soft, tech shots. Oh my, I don't remember seeing those since ISS on 64. They're definately an awesome thing to experience.

The keepers are a lot better now also. I just had the dude save 3 of myrebound shots in a row. They get up quickly now. I've seen some 2 hand saves too. :)

The new stadiums are nice. Just like in FIFA, they have some real small stadiums, kinda like 3-league teams in england, etc. Good atmosphere, definately.

I love the camera views. The default middle is awsome. Slight higher than in we8/pes4 and better angle. Perfect. Just like in WE6FE, WE7IJ, etc.

As far as any new moves & anims, I need to play more. To early to tell. Hell, I don't even remember what was and was not in WE8/PES4 so that's gonna be hard...

The ball physics are also better. The heavier ball is back and it doesn't pointlessly bounce as much as in PES4. That's definately a good thing. And seeing spin off a low outside pass = pricelss. :D Oh by the way, the amount of outside passing/shooting has been decreased as well. That might be related to players not having enough skill though... Overall, a good change. No way in real life is every other pass a n outside one. ;)

The only cons are the lack of Euro teams in the beginning. The rumors are they need to be unlocked.

Once the right patch is out, this game will be the best WE ever. The setup is definately there for creating Seria A, EPL, La Liga and more.

Overall 9/10 vs 8/10 WE8/PES4.

10/10 is reserved for WE8JI. Hahaha, good to have a ps2.

No, absolutely no slowdowns.

Forgot to mention the slowpace. It's PERFECT. Kinda like WE6FE. Makes PES4 look like older FIFA's if you know what I mean.

Slower game = more thinking.

Faster game = more button mashing.

I like the slower pace. Joy to watch. :)

Jumbo the question i am asking myself is that if it is so much better than WE8 why did it only get 32/40 considering WE8 only scored a 35/40.

I try j-league and its almost the same.....It not any big improvment....If you edit player stats in pes4 you could get that slow gameplay....So if you already have We8 or Pes4 i dont recomendet J-league......And it doesnt have online play....So i recomend PES4 for xbox or pc....

This is my review.
1.The game's engine was the best ,no SLOWDOWN NOW!!!!!
2.The Freekick is the best ,the curl is reality then WE8 PES4!!!!
3.The WE8 J-L add many STADIUMS!!!They looks cool!!!!

Only one disappointment----they team suck!RUN SLOW ,BAD PASS ,SUCK STAMINA, a fat lot of team can play.
