Aight here we are, at home again :D Rainy drizzley weather down ere but still lookin forward to the game and I can go to the game today because I have no match untill Tuesday night (H) .
Anyway, City... We all know they can let in goals, and score goals. I hope Macken plays, and I know Distin will, shame Yakubu's not playin cause he'd knock him all over the pitch.
So it'll most likely be an open game. Quashie faces a late fitness test so I hear, hopefully he plays, glad Bergers back, unfortunately Stone's doubtful. We need width!
But yea, probably Faye and Quashie in the middle which is good. Not sure whether Gary O'neil will play but if he did I wouldnt mind one bit, he's a good player.
Anelka's very dangerous for them, he's what makes them what they are, if they didnt have Anelka they'd be easily in the relegation zone. So I think we just have to cut him off, he's got pace which De Zeeuw hasnt, but in the air we're fine. I spose linvoy will have to go onto Anelka or somethin, because he's the only one who can probably match him for pace.
Should be a good game tho (H)
I say 2-1 to us innit
Lua Lua n Fuller to score (Hopefully)
And I know Anelka will score fo them lol
Payaah 20-11-2004, 08:36:PM COME ON POMPEY
shokz 20-11-2004, 09:18:PM Congrats on the new stadium Charlie, assuming it all goes ahead.
rony31 21-11-2004, 12:18:AM 1-1, it's HT on TV but livescore says its the 60th
SWP in the 6th, O'Neil in the 8th :|
the weather's killing the game, nothing can be produced, so now it's just very scrappy :S
SlowSilver 21-11-2004, 12:39:AM 2-1 City :o
soccerbest 21-11-2004, 12:50:AM 3-1 now
Vagegast 21-11-2004, 01:00:AM Bosvelt :rockman:
rony31 21-11-2004, 01:37:AM (H) what a goal by Sibierski, great set-up by Fowler (a rare good game for him)
and SWP was a monster all game :rockman:
Amdy Faye 21-11-2004, 06:10:AM (Sorry i've posted a bit late, I got in from the game late, straight away watched the Barca game, then Match of the Day.
Thanks Ben (Y) fingers crossed it goes ahead eh, was menna be startin it in October mate but with all the plannin permission etc etc, so hopefully December, should be good though.
On to the game...
I went to the game feelin confident we could get a result, and before the game could really get goin, we let Wright-Phillips score a goal with Stefanovic should of gotton a better clearance to. So annoying to let in a goal so early.
Our keeper Ashdown did well I thought. It was his first premiership start and he looked very confident coming for the ball etc etc, so the goals don't do himself any justice really, he didnt do bad enough to let in 3. I was surprised James didnt made 1 mistake :kader:
But our reply was great, a good ball by Unsworth, and like I said up there ^ I hope Gary O'neil plays, which he did, and scored a lovely placed goal. Knew exactly what he was doin. Im glad he's been given a chance and I felt he did well today.
At 1-1 I felt we could go on. But only then to think i'd settle for a 1-1 which is unbelievable for us at home, because City just looked like scorin everytime they got the ball.
Shows how much we miss Yak eh... And Kamara. Lua Lua's injured again aswell.. So we had just Fuller who played the full game having only being in the United States on wednesday. So he's nackered.
But like I said the game just went downhill for us anyway, and once the second goal went in, the third just set the game done and dusted. We still sang though, a few people went but meh, you take the good with the bad. Like some geezer said "20 years ago we were ****e, look at us now" I mean I cant remember 20 years ago cuz I was in mama, but even a few years ago we were fighting to stay in Division 1! But hopefully we can pick ourselfs up. Bolton away next week, which will not be easy... I'd be very chuffed with a draw.
Cama Pompey
rony31 21-11-2004, 06:53:AM aye, Ashdown was the sole reason why Pompey didn't lose by more than 2
City dominated the 2nd half... who needs Anelka? (H)
Amdy Faye 21-11-2004, 07:11:AM Yea mate, he dominated and commanded his area, he actually came and caught the ball without hesitation! :o :o :o
That amazed me! (We're not used to that at fratton park ya see!)
But yea they pretty much did, we played bollocks really, Quashie did alright, Faye had a bad day. But like I said, missin Yakubu, Kamara and now Lua Lua :kader:
rony31 21-11-2004, 07:12:AM ya, your striker situation's messed up
you can have Jon Macken on loan if ya'd like (H)
Amdy Faye 21-11-2004, 07:17:AM No no no no no! Ya'll alright mate lol.
Like I said up there, I hope he plays, and he did :D which was good lol.
But the 2nd goal wasnt brill! The ball MIGHT of gone over the line when Fowler had it, cross was good but the finish, scuffed it mate.
But like Arry sed, we're a good team when our players are fit, but I mean we do miss Yakubu's presence big time :( And he's out for a while!
