fifafanatic 25-12-1999, 04:32:AM what about Owens (Liverpool) who is 19
or Ronaldhino (Gremio) who I belive is 19 or 18?
They will probably make a big impact in the next World Cup.
DirkDiggler 25-12-1999, 04:42:AM I think you missed a lot of important players.
Barry Ferguson is only 19 I think. He already received offers from several Italian clubs before he signed his new Rangers contract. According to John Barnes there are a bunch of young players in Scotland he would like to sign.
I'm sure there will be a lot of talent coming from the US as football is becoming bigger there.
GOONERBHOY 25-12-1999, 05:03:AM Funny, i thought you`d mention him.
I think we need to recruit somemore scotsmen fur the Scottish Football Forum!
Edoardo 25-12-1999, 05:19:AM These are the players i belive will be the next stars.. 1) Ronaldinho Gaucho,Vampeta (Brazil)..2) Aimar,Saviola (Argentina)..3) Ivan Kaviedes (Ecuador)..4) Raphael Marquez (Mexico)..5) Roque Santacruz (Paraguay)..6) Angel (Colombia)..Theres more but these are more likely to make an impact, some of them are all ready in Europe as for the rest look for them in the olympics because shortly after they will be invading Europe....
Bolso 25-12-1999, 05:51:AM Don't forget Olivera, Zalayeta and Recoba.
Neutral 25-12-1999, 07:01:AM I agree with all of Goonerboy's picks, and I also admit that that list doesn't even include prominent players outside of Europe, there are so many to name, but Roque Santacruz at Bayern looks to be a real superstar in the making - just another name I'd like to add to the list (along with Alex, Ronaldinho, & Felipe) I'm actually glad that someone else also regards Steven Gerrard as a rising star, I think he'll turn out to be a better defensive midfielder than Paul Ince ever was. :-)
Italy82 25-12-1999, 07:05:AM Dont forget J.Bachini(Juventus),G.Zambrotta(Juventus),N.Ventol a(Bologna)
Juninhio 25-12-1999, 07:26:AM Goonerboy I think you made a mistake Celta Vigo isn't in Great Britian.

in two or three years.
Batistuta 25-12-1999, 10:46:AM Just outta curiousity.....how old is Totti? and Delvecchio?
Russian Rocket 25-12-1999, 11:51:AM Yeah, and what about Shevchenko, who is 23. Ronaldo is young too. and Saviola from River Plate. I heard rumors about his leaving River for no less than 50 million dollars. And Raul is goddamn good too. Also, there is a kid in Dynamo Kyiv Maxim Shatskikh from Uzbekistan. And what about young Bolivian Joselito Vacca? there are a lot of those who would make this list.
P.S Do you think that McNamara is young? 26 years old. he is not a youngster anymore.
PP.S Alan Smith is good too.
Italy82 25-12-1999, 02:28:PM Totti and Delvecchio should be both around 24 years of age.
steve-e-o 26-12-1999, 12:33:AM Kieron Dyer and Alessandro Pistone (Am I Biased?)
GOONERBHOY 26-12-1999, 01:14:AM Russian Rocket,
McNamara is 26 years old with the phisical of a 17 year old and at wing back or right wing he has at LEAST another 8 years in him, just look at lee Dixon and Nigel winterburn aged 33 and 34, still two of the best wing backs today!
My picks are still #1.
Leonardo , 17 years old from Brazil.

GROBAR_OTAGO 26-12-1999, 07:43:AM I think all you are forgeting the famus Asian
youngster: Li Bum Suk, in a few years he might be one of asia's finest
GOONERBHOY are you sure you are not American ? http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif (Joke! Just a joke!)
You should start to look away from England too to understand more about soccer...
I saw much of this players playing, and they could be good, but...
Riquelme - I saw few games from him but this guys promise, Edoardo could tell more.
Ronaldinho Gaucho - If he does't start to look for his marketing, and play, this guy could be one of the best of all times. You only see him at Copa America, but he crash, destroy at Brazilian Championship. He makes Dunga (94 and 98 Brazil captain) to call for the end of the game...
Jay-Jay 26-12-1999, 07:01:PM I think that the rising stars should include
Matthew Etherington(Peterborough)18
Mikael Forssell(Chelsea)18
Roque Santa Cruz(Bayern München)18
Tuomas Vanhala(Peli-Karhut,Karhula,Finland)18
Michael Ball(Everton)19
Jonathon Woodgate(Leeds)19
Juan Riquelme(Boca Juniors)19
Esteban Cambiasso(Independiente)18
Frank Jeffers(Everton)18
Danny Cadamarteri(Everton)20
Harry Kewell(Leeds)19
Joe Cole(West Ham)17
Jimmy Davis(ManU)17
Jermaine Pennant(Arsenal)16
OK that's enough for now!
Happy New Year 2k to all!!!!!!

Zambrotta 26-12-1999, 07:27:PM I can only speak for the Serie A. The biggest talents are without a doubt Pirlo (20 years), Cassano (17 years) and Ventola (21 years).
Totti and Recoba are already stars and both are 23 years old.
fifafanatic 26-12-1999, 07:29:PM Landon Donovan, now there is a US player who will make an impact. Some of us got a glimpse of his talent in the U-17 tournament. For those who never heard of him, you will soon. He signed with a European team, I think it was in the German league?
I got to watch the american kid Landon Donovan at the under 17 world cup. He is fantastic, he will go a long way in the game.
Salamo 27-12-1999, 06:29:AM Joe Cole
Harley (Chelea)
Robbie Keane
Dyer
Upson
Drinky UKSN 27-12-1999, 06:52:AM OK, stars of the next decade (in no particular order)...
Michael Owen (Liverpool)
Ronaldinho (Gremio?)
Roque Santa Cruz (Bayern Munchen)
Richard Wright (Ipswich)
Moritz Volz (Arsenal)
Haruna Babangida (Barcelona)
Stephen Gerrard (Liverpool)
Joe Cole (West Ham)
Esteban Cambiasso (Real Madrid/Independiente)
Matthew Etherington (Peterborough)
Javier Saviola (young Batistuta IMO) (River Plate)
Sebastian Deisler (Hertha Berlin)
Jhonnier Montano (Parma)
Nano (Barcelona)
The two kids who scored Bari's two goals vs Inter a couple of weeks back looked outstanding - forgotten their names though.
Thats a pretty packed list, anyone want to argue/agree?
Drinky UKSN 27-12-1999, 06:55:AM Landon Donovan (US bloke) too.
I've mostly mentioned players who are still in their teens, who will still be going strong in 2010, and not players who are in their mid-20s now who will have long retired by then.
