Name your top 3 comedy movies :)

Sir Calumn
23-11-2004, 01:17:AM
My top 3 would probably be all Python films, I just find them so far above the other comedies in wit, satire and general funniness, but only allowing one Python film, this would be my top three:

1. Monty Python's Life of Brian (Terry Jones)
2. The Big Lebowski (The Coen Brothers)
3. M*A*S*H (Robert Altman)

The Big Lebowski is a really surreal, funny and awesome film, the only decent stoner comedy I've ever seen, with some awesome originality and some really crazy ideas. M*A*S*H was also a brilliant idea, with some hillarious moments and superb actors, not to mention inspiring one of the funniest American TV series' of all time.

TROD. As I said, in reality it would probably be all Python films but I wanted to get some variety and I just marginally prefer Life of Brian to The Holy Grail because of the satirical element, damn close though.

thats because of two reasons.

A) Its dated

B) Its not that funny to people of this generation. Check back in 20 years, im sure you'll see the same thing with 'Old School',

I always heard great things about Slap Shot and Caddyshack being the funniest movies. When i saw them, i was only mildly entertained.

Poor movie. Peter Falk is the most annoying actor of all time, and his role in this movie ruined it. I didnt like Jon Favreau's acting in this either. Swingers is far better than this, the only thing similar is the actors.
