Rochester just signed 3 players 3 days ago, all from Syracuse who folded from the league despite performing well in the league and having above average attendance, though the team has been rumored that they inflate the attendance numbers a lot.

Mauro Carabajal, a 6-2, 175-pound forward from Buenos Aires, Argentina, signed with Syracuse in mid-July last season. In 10 games with the Salty Dogs, Carabajal scored a team-leading nine goals and 19 points (9+1). Carabajal started the 2004 season with the West Michigan Edge of the Premire Development League, where he collected nine points (4+1) in five games.

Attila Vendegh, a 5-9, 165-pound forward from Bratislava, Slovakia, played 12 games with the Syracuse Salty Dogs last season, picking up nine points on three goals and three assists (3+3). Vendegh had originally signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Silverbacks last February. Vendegh had a remarkable career at Old Dominion University, where he was the Monarchs' all-time leading scorer with 56 goals, 22 assists and 134 points. Vendegh was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and also participated in the 2004 Major League Soccer Player combine.

Jonathan Steele, a 6-0, 170-pound forward from Larne, Northern Ireland, spent two years with the Wolverton Wanderers of the English Premier League, before signing with the Syracuse Salty Dogs. Last season, the 18-year-old picked up four points (1+2) in 10 games in Syracuse. Steele is currently playing with the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Ironically, the three were all brought into Syracuse midseason last July.

We also signed Stoian Mladenov. The native of Rousse, Bulgaria, returns to Rochester after a one-year hiatus from the Rhinos. In 2004, he played for the Lask Linz in Austria. From 2001-03, Mladenov was a fixture in the Rhinos offense. In his Rhinos career, he recorded 14 goals and 19 assists for 47 points in 65 games. He ranks sixth on the team's all-time points list and fourth in assists. His finest season was 2001, when he notched seven goals and eight assists for 22 points. The eight assists still stand as the second most in a season by a Rhinos player. That season, he was also named to the First Team All-Star squad and finished tied for the team lead in points with 22. In addition, he was selected MVP of the A-League Championship Game as the Rhinos won their third league title.

What a freaking dumbass if this is true. The guy just wrote his name in history scoring over 32 goals in the Brasileirão and then he goes to Japan? (nothing against Japan, but he's better than that). He could make it into Europe easily, if not to a big club, some mid-table club with tradition or whatever.

But Japan? Jesus.

Exactly. That's what Atlético supporters are thinking.

He could easily go to Germany (where I think the game style is perfect for him), Portugal (to make people forget Jardel, he's a lot better then him), anywhere in Europe. But Japan? :kader: :f***:

Washington and his manager say it's not true, but the team already anounced him as the main signing.

Ahhhh good old washington, I remember we had him for a season, apparently he had a heart condition, he didn't want to leave our club but he was forced, do the brazilians in these forums know anything about that being true?

OK, I'll tell ya what happened:

When he was playing at Fenerbahçe, he had some troubles with his heart. The club never believed he could continue playing soccer, so they sent him home (until here you know how it happened). He wanted to stay, but they thought soccer was over for him.

Then, he came to Brazil and Atlético Paranaense was the only club that believed in him. So, he put 3 stents in his heart and his health was analyzed by Atlético's doctor. He okayed his conditions and Atlético signed him for 1 season, until December 2005 (his contract expired dec. 20).

In the begining they tried to postpone as much as they could his first match. He first played in a big game against Paraná in the Paraná state league, and scored a goal.Everything was ready in case he had a heart attack, which fortunately didn't happen. He played the whole 90 minutes, and since then he didn't stop scoring goals, writing his name in history by scoring 34 goals, a new record for the brazilian league.

I wouldn't say he's slow, he's heavy (not fat). But he scored a goal vs Atlético Mineiro like this: he took the ball from the midfield line and went running until the area and scored from a hard angle after dribbling a defender.

He can't run like Owen, but he is efforted. And what matters is that inside the area he knows what to do (and does it very well): score goals.

yes ur right

Liverpool have signed defender Mauricio Pellegrino from Valencia on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old has agreed a six-month deal with the option of a further year.

Pellegrino joined Valencia in 1999 from Barcelona and helped them to Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001 as well as being a member of Valencia's title-winning sides in 2002 and 2004.

His agent Filippo Cavadini said: "He has passed his medical and is very happy he is going to Liverpool - a great club.

"He has already spoken to Rafael Benitez and is looking forward to playing with Liverpool."

"Mauricio will now be going to Valencia for two or three days to organise his personal situation before returning to Liverpool."

That blows. I think CSKA broke a Russian transfer record when they purchased him from Palmeiras. It's kind of stupid that they're deciding to sell him, they also just sold one of their best midfielders to Chelsea.

Kind of. It's a group called MSI that is taking care of Corinthians now, and they're full of money. Apparently there's a Russian behind this group aswell, Boris Berezovsky (sp?). He seems to have a decent relationship with Roman too.

I heard this MSI group have bought the transfer rights to Maxi Lopez , Mascherano and Lucho Gonzalez.

WTF?
What did Dynamo do? Like get another of the russian politican/mafiosi/thief to sponsor them and become half portugese? Just look at this:
Derlei
Tiago da Silva
Jorge Ribeiro
Ciser.
Miguel "Danny" Gomes
Nuno Frechaut
all gone to Dynamo, who barely escaped relegation  . Defenietly another ****er spending people's money. At this rate russia will turn into Brazil/Portugal 2 very soon.

Incoming transfers for the Northern Virginia Royals.

Robbie Savage: I haven't heard of this guy before but he is supposed to be the sh*t. This team Blackburn was supposed to get him but President Bush made sure the Royals got him.

Zdenek Grygera: His current team is in a small country somewhere in Western Europe. I'm not confident he's the guy we need. I just hope his play isn't as awkward as his name.

Dennis Bergkamp: Me and my friend are gonna pick him up from the Port of Baltimore. I'm gonna drive the official Royals van, baby!

Bolton willing to let Pedersen go

Bolton striker Henrik Pedersen has been put on the transfer list just five weeks after his contract was extended.
The Dane, who has scored nine goals this season, is being made available so boss Sam Allardyce can strengthen the squad to escape the relegation battle.

"It was especially disappointing to hear Bolton want to sell me after such a good season," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"I'll try and keep scoring and make it obvious that I want to stay."

Pedersen is one of seven players who have been put up for transfer and assistant manager Phil Brown says there is every possibility of major changes to the squad before the transfer window closes.

"There has been interest already," he told BBC GMR.

"It has set the ball rolling and who knows by the end of January we might have two or three players in and two or three out."
