View Full Version : GeForce Fx 5200 - How does Pes4 works with it? Suggestion...
::..Federico Debla..:: 26-11-2004, 10:05:PM Yo!
Well right now I have a GeFore 2 MX 400, and PEs4 doesn't work very good, to be honest it sucks a bit.
So I'm planning to buy a GeForce Fx 5200, because it's the only card I can afford right now...
I just wanted to know if some of you have it.... and how does it work with PES4? I mean does PES4 play good with it? What settings do you use, etc...?
Thx in advance.
I have a FX 5600, and it's working pretty good. FX 5200 is less good.. but I don't think you'd have some problems. It should run fine.
By the way I run the game at 1152 high details.
All depends on your CPU and your RAM too.
::..Federico Debla..:: 26-11-2004, 10:33:PM My System specs are:
Processor: Procesador Intel Pentium III, ~1.0GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM
Windows XP Professional
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
So, with a Fx 5200 do you think I could play PES4 at 1024x768 with High Details?

hey mate..
r u playing the full version already?
because in my FX5600 I run the demo version of the game just at 1152 medium details(at high details the cut scenes get choppy)
I hope I can run at high details at the full version....
I own a Athlon XP 2600+, 512 mb ddr and GeForce FX 5600 128 mb
Dont buy FX5200 it very big mountain of ****. Better buy R9550GT. Its price is similar, but it's waaaaaaay better.
dafish 26-11-2004, 10:57:PM i run a AMD XP 2000+ 512mb ram and a radeon 9800SE (approx. a 9600pro)
i'm running 1024 x 768 at default settings just fine. haven't tried more powerful settings but for the most part the resolution i have is suffiecient without being ugly.
so anything faster than a mid-class vid card from a yr ago would be enough to run PES4 at decent pace.
i'm not sure what 5200 ranks as but even a modern day budget card is enough i would say

You mean Radeon 9550 GT? U sure its price is similar? I'll talk about it with the person who offered me the GeForce maybe he has that card too at a reasonable price...

No, I'm still with the Demo.
dafish 26-11-2004, 10:59:PM but i just read ur pc specs... 1 ghz isn't really enough is it? rams definitely ok.
just don't expect to turn in 100 fps
São Paulo FC 26-11-2004, 11:55:PM I think u have to get a new processor too...
maybe a 2,0 ghz can handle it pretty well:)
::..Federico Debla..:: 27-11-2004, 12:01:AM I've been told (by a computer engineer) that my processor is just fine as long as my RAM is 512MB or higher than that... the problem is definetly the graphics card.
mauri 27-11-2004, 02:16:AM I bought a Geforce fx 5200, and I must say that I'm not having problems with the demo, my specs are:
P4 1.7 GHz
256MB RAM
Geforce fx 5200
Windows XP professional
LucaToni 27-11-2004, 02:31:AM ok i have a 5200 fx with amd 2600+ and 1 gig of ram it runs smooth at 800*600 on medium detail if u go higher in resolution 1024*768 it runs with lag.. but still 800*600 is still nice with medium detail but i advise u if u want the higher settings get a better card thats what im planning to do for christmas anyway.
theedor 27-11-2004, 02:59:AM if you'll get a fx5200, then you'll start thinking of buying a new video card 6 months later. please wait just like I did, and get a video card around 200-300$. it may be radeon 9600xt 256 mb version, or X600 XT (if you'll go for ati it should be xt indeed). I've got mine (9600XT 128 mb ver.) and I'm thinking of getting a new card until autumn 2005.
Steve Kelley 27-11-2004, 06:59:AM ive got a FX5700. Can play the game on 1024 with high details but lags a little. Medium detail is sweeet!!!
jatin 27-11-2004, 03:24:PM Listen mate..i own the geforce fx 5200..with a p4 1.7 and 256 mb ram..even pes3 can run only on 800*600 medium fairly..might be my RAM but still tht card sucks..i wasted money..
Also..Doom 3 doesnt run too well on this s**t of a card..i m only wondering abt HL2:f***: :(

Comparing to R9600XT, FX5900XT is better. It have 256bits and have better clock speeds.
I've FX5900XT OC, 512DDR and Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ and demo runs so smoooth. I'm playing on 1280*1024 + High details and frames all the time are 60 per second..(Y)
rahulm5 27-11-2004, 07:48:PM k..i have a geforce 2 mx 400.....having probs with it....
but running pes 4 not bad....pentium 4 1.6 ghz...256 mb ram..
what people are saying about vsync and antialiasing i tried that and then the game ran very slow
try this setting
antialiasing application controlled
anisotropic filtering application controlled
image settings quality
vsync application controlled
mine runs a lot better with these than with the setting mentioned at the forums......i run the game at 800*600 at medium details.........cutscenes are choppy but they're fine if i run in low detail...have a go at this fede
but anyways guys plzzz recommentd a decent graphics card to me....fx 5200 or 5600 or radeon 9200 or 9600.....budget is a prob so which is the cheapest 1 which will run all the latest games reasonably well

By the way... I have the same question here: but anyways guys plzzz recommentd a decent graphics card to me....fx 5200 or 5600 or radeon 9200 or 9600.....budget is a prob so which is the cheapest 1 which will run all the latest games reasonably well
jatin 27-11-2004, 09:08:PM Dont go for the fx5200 at all costs..i wud say..i think Ati 9600 pro wud do u good if u can afford it..:D

That is the problem...
We are all trying to find a card of a price similar to the FX 5200 but, if possible, better to play PES4....
Otherwise this discussion wouldn't even exist, because if I had the money to buy any card, it's obvious that I'd buy the most expensive one which is probably the best...
mauri 27-11-2004, 10:37:PM fx 5200 is fine, but not perfect, I have it and I'm not having problems with it.
Yogui 27-11-2004, 10:57:PM Same for me, compared to PES3, PES4 runs really better with my FX 5200.
I have a AMD 2500+ and 512 of ram, well maybe the nForce2 chipset on my motherboard helps, but I don't have any problems.
Hi there, while im quite happy playing PES4 on my PS2 for the time being, i would like to play it on the PC due to the fact you can get updates and PLAY ONLINE! woot.
Anyway, was wondering if it would play on my pc, i have:
Windows 98
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1700+
1.46GHz, 640 MB of RAM
Plug and Play Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X
And around 7gb free HDD.
Any ideas?

Hockey Swede 03-12-2004, 07:48:PM I have a Nvidia geforce FX 5200. The PES4 graphics doesn't work well.
My system is: Pentium4 2,8GHz, 1,25 Gb RAM, Microsoft XP Home Edition
The poor graphic has to do with the drivers, either main bord or GF FX5200 driver.
LucaToni 05-12-2004, 03:50:PM 1 more thing if u put 3d analyzer on i can run 5200 fx with 1024 *768 on medium detail at normal frame rates pretty cool
