A national team is supported by the whole nation, this means EVERYBODY from that country. But if you just put a club from one country into FIFA2000, you will only satisfy supporters of that club, which aren't so many! I remember the good old times, when all games had only national teams. National team are only the best players from one country. But a club is a mix of international players, which come and go really fast. Think about it: if EA added all national teams, they would satisfy the whole world, just like they did in Fifa98! But no, they rather add 1000 clubs and satisfy only 10% of the world!

Club teams are so much more fun to play. How many really good national teams are there? Maybe 10. How many really good clubs are there? Maybe 50? Plus some great players like Redondo and many others are left off their national teams because the coaches don't like their personalities. Also many great players play for national teams that will never win anything like the great AC Milan player who comes from Liberia or Titi Camara who is from some tiny country that will never win anything.

AC Milan player from Liberia? You MUST be talking about George Weah.

I also researched it, and I think Camara is from Guinea.

Just trying to help everybody out.

the best thing about international teams in Fifa98 was that you could pick out of every avalable player in the country that was in the game. This feature was sorely missed from Fifa99.
