View Full Version : Taxi - Utter ****e

Help?

Just surfing through the net found out about a movie called Taxi coming out October 8th. And after checking the trailer, i thought, aren't those Hollywood producers real ****ers? :f***: . Check out the trailer yourself at www.taximovie.com. The original french movie series written by Luc Besson Taxi 1, 2 and 3 were great, amazing, funny and whatever you can imagine, but this :kader: . The official website could even mention that it is actually a remake of one of the great movie in the world. I bet most americans will think that the whole movie is completely their idea. They stole half the story, i can even make up a list of what was taken, they even took the scene where taxi catches the bad guys, who jump over an unfinished road  , even the friging name of a movie is the same. and please don't tell me that Queen Latifah can be ANYWHERE near as good as Samy Naceri, did they really have to find a black person to be a driver who brakes the rules? Ryan Reynolds would have suited 100 times better the role of the Taxi driver.

My opinion is DON'T waste your money, download the thing from internet (that's EXACTLY what it deserves) or rent the original french one, which is WAY better.

I bet most Americans really care.

There have been hundreds of foreign films that have been re-made by Hollywood, with various degrees of success.

There's nothing there that says they have to talk about the original movie. They bought the rights to do a re-make, they don't have to do sh*t after that.

It looks rubbish. The french Taxi films are a lot better. Taxi was great, Taxi 2 was great then they were stupid enough to make a third which was dumb. They shouldn't have made a remake in Hollywood but I don't really care.

Taxi 1, 2, 3 are good movies in France. Especiall the second, he's very funny. I don't know why they put Queen Latifah, Samy Naceri is clearly better. Anyways, it looks awful.

3rd worst film ive ever seen. i dont even need to explain why its bad.

2 reasons to see this film:

1. Lesbo scene
2. A funny joke about the main characters first ever driving lesson

Toms worst films:

3. Taxi
2. Bulletproof monk
1. Dungeons and Dragons

Anyone else seen this film?

Common sense mate. Most people just block those bad movie propaganda out of their system.

Unless you're really bored though.

Yeah, seriously.

I can't believe someone would actually spend money (assuming you didn't torrent it) to go and see a movie that features Queen Latifah. She's so ******* annoying and obnoxious.

The mere presence of Queen ******* Latifah as one of the stars should have been a sign to run far, far away from this movie.

My friends said this movie wasn't that good.

I haven't seen it yet. I don't really want to either I never found it interesting from the day that I heard about it.

The trailer of Taxi alone ruined the end of the fifth Band of Brothers episode (which has Jimmy Fallon it in) :nape:

Jimmy Fallon had some decent moments on SNL, but I don't know who got the idea that he could carry a whole movie. I can't wait to see him in Fever Pitch, which I think will be a butchering of one of my favorite books ever. :(

The slogan "To catch criminals this hot, you need a car this fast" pretty much put me off from day one. I had never intended to see it, but you've confirmed it :p

I wouldnt say Bullet Proof Monk was that bad, it wasnt great, but definately not one of the worst films of recent years.

so glad i saved you calumn! lol, and anyway to put the record straight, i hadnt seen a trailer for this film, my 'mate' said it 'looked' good when he saw one

So i get into the cinema thinking, ooo, this maybe a bit arty.... no... oh god no it isnt.

oh and bulletproof monk was awful. ;) ;) Mind you i hate Yun-Fat Chow, William-Scott and Jaime King often looks sooo ROUGH. So maybe i was a bit biased before even going in.

Yeah, it wasnt a good film by any stetch of the imagination. I did like the old nazi in a wheelchair though :D

Is After The Sunset gonna be like Taxi does anyone know? I'm tempted to check it out, I like Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek is fit, but it looks as if it could be crap.

TROD. I may check it out. I havent been to the cinema in weeks, so I'm gonna make up for it this weekend by going three times, each with different people. So much out to see though. Enduring Love looks really good, so I've gotta make my gf think it's a romantic film so she'll let me take her to it :p I really want to see Kevin Spacey's new film too, Beyond the Sea, and I think Danny Boyle's film, Millions, will be out then too. On the other hand, After the Sunset and The Manchurian Candidate look like fun films to watch, but then again The Merchant of Venice has an awesome cast, and I really want to see how crap Churchill: The Hollywood Years actually is. Oh the agony of choice :(

Churchill: The Hollywood Years looks pretty fun actually. I've never read The Merchant of Venice, but I really like Shakespeare and it does have Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons in it, so it appeals to me alot.

Churchill looks like it couldbe really funny or it could be sickeningly crap.

After the Sunset is fun, but it doesnt have anything to add to the genre. plus, Brosnan should really stop repeating himself with Bond, The Thomas Crow Affain, and now this. its all the same!!!

Tom
01-12-2004, 07:48:PM
yeah thats one of the reasons i wanted to see it, to see if Brosnan is yet again playing a 'reincarnation' of Bond, doesnt add anything to the genre - classic, :D

TROD. Out Friday I believe. I've never read the play, so I'm looking forward to it very much.

Pierce does seem a bit one dimensional, but hey, he does it well :p

Tom

Shakespeare likes to have those 'kinds' of characters in his plays, doesnt confuse the reader.

i didnt think it was too bad. Ive seen much worse movies recently (seed of chucky, the Forgotten).

I used to be a Jimmy Falllon hater (i felt he stole Sandler's act) but after seeing his 'best of SNL' show I've changed my mind. And SNL blows this season (unless the host is good, Ben Affleck), which is cause he left.

Hakeem

I dont know, I loved Weekend Update with Jimmy but Im really liking Amy Poehler (Y)(Y)(Y)

and even with Jimmy SNL hasnt had a good overall cast since Will Ferrell and a few others left
