hey guys
wondering if anyone has been able to switch on AA and AF with ATI's x800xt or any other ATI card for that matter- its only cos some Nvidia users have been able to use AF with rivatuner...

been trying to force them with Powerstrip but to no avail
any thoughts r welcome

i use a Radeon 9800pro and AA doesn't work at all for me.

using ATI 9800SE with 4.2 and 4.3 drivers, and seems to work.

I am able to use my AA, but AF doesnt work at all....... bcoz the refrees on shirt logo is not at all readable..... so i dont think my AF is working.

By the way i use ATi 9500 with 4.10 drvr and AA 4x and AF 8x setting.

you must use omega drivers for radeon!!! with these ive activate aa and af and this is superb!! i will post screen later

FFS! the ref logo is unreadable because the kit map is small so the logos are very small! :rolleyes:

can you tell me what setting did you use in Omega drivers?

you can force AF in game using 3D analyzer too

but I suppose there is no way to enable AA if game simply doesn't support it

Why don't you download radlinker ? , i have a radeon 9800 graphics card and use radlinker and can set both the aa and af to maximum without any problems. For anyone who is not familiar with radlinker you need to right click the exe file of the program you want to run. And then left click on " create radlink ".
After that just right click on the new exe and tinker with all the settings. Hope this helps.

Can you say me what options do you choose in the settings and what version of catalyst do you use cause it doesn't work for me, i have a radeon 9700 pro. Thanks

Once you have created a radlink. Click the 3d tab and make sure you have vertical sync " allways on ". AA is set to x6 and AF is set to 16 forced.

Not sure which driver i am using for my radeon card, but the driver version is : 6.14.10.6490

No luck, i try everything, i can't stand anymore.... I give up....

nice. that's a sweet little app. i installed radlink and i can now run 4xAA 4xAF. looks so much better. and the grass isn't annoying to look at anymore. thanks so much!

ok i dont get it how some ppl make it work and others dont- i used every bloody program to force em but dont think anything happens- or maybe it is...
how can u tell anyway in this game- cos most ppl talk abt the grass looking better- shldnt we be looking at whether goal posts and players look smooth around the edges for AA, which they dont at all...

ok, here's what i did to make it work.
I'm using a 9800pro with 4.11 catalysts

1. i set my catalyst control panel to their defaults. i.e. no AA, AF, Vsync any of that stuff. The driver control panels are totally stock except i over ride the refresh rate to match my desktop (which is 85Hz)

2. installed radlink

3. create a rad link for the PES4 shortcut.

4. right clicked the rad link for PES4 and went to properies.

5. under DirectX i left everything at "default" except for:
-vsync always on
-AA force 4x
-AF 4x Quality

that was it. Worked like a charm.

As i say it works for someone and not for others, i have a 9700pro with catalyst 4.12b, made exactly what deluxde have made and AA doesn't work, i am really desperate...

well, i got it to work, BUT just look at what happens:

with radlinker i forved AF, i went in game and the grass was not "moving" anymore, its more blurry, AF is working... BUT only in 1152x864 resolution!
my desktop resolution is 1024x768, and i play with the same resolution, but AF doesn't work this way, no radlinker, no nothing makes effect.
but once i changed to 1152x864, AF does work.
i don't know why this happens, but it sucks, 'cause in 1152x864 i get a frame dropdown to around 52, 53 fps in some areas of the pitch

Deluxxe could you post a screenshot of the GOAL POSTS with the Anti Aliasing ON and one with it OFF.

Anisotropic Filtering it's easy to force ON, just use RadLink or 3D Analyzer. But theres is no way to force Anti Aliasing with either of this programs.

In your last post you say:

But theres is no option in Radlink to choose AA FORCE 4X, at least not in the last version of the program.

I talked to a lot of people that said they had Anti Aliasing On, but they hadn't. The best way to confirm AA ON or OFF is the Goal Posts or Zooming in a player to see if they have those jaggies...

Anyone with AA ON could you please just post a screenshot?

I have also the AA problem. AF seems to work fine.

Here are two screenshots (2MB each pic!):

1280 x 1024 - No AA - No AF: Picture 1 (http://www.2ghc.de/gsg/pes4/cat412/rep_noset.png)

1280 x 1024 - 4 x AA - 8 x AF (forced): Picture 2 (http://www.2ghc.de/gsg/pes4/cat412/rep_set.png)

If you switch between the pictures than you can see that AF works (the textures are looking much better) but AA doesn't :(

it's not that noticeable the jagged edges on goalposts and the 1/2 way line when the ball whizzez by but still sloppy programming ;/
