A simple question:

Is Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic working in PES4 or not??
'cause all i see in the foruns is some people saiyng it is, and others saying it isn´t.
Some say its disabled, and some say the grass gets better when they turn anti-aliasing on.

WTF?

someone who knows the answer for sure, can please tell me?

thanks

The answer is confused cause for someone it works and the others it don't, for me i have tried all i can and it doesn't work. Compare to PES3, without AA, it's less beautiful. Think this game needs a patch to activate AA.
Personally i have a radeon 9700 pro.

look at Technical Forum where this thread been moved, there are many AA/AF threads discussing it

normally PES4 doesn't support AA neither AF but you can force it using Riva Tuner, Radlink, 3D Analyzer and other tweaky tools

you can force AF for sure in any game
some ppl said they forced AA in PES4 but I don't believe in this too much coz from screens it looks definitely not as good as PES3 which supported AA/AF from the beginning

try tweaks posted earlier and you will see by yourself will it looks much better, a bit better or the same

people who said AA works please. post some pics.
the best place to see if AA is working is on the goal posts.

I think AA is NOT Working in the game.
Someone must write a letter to konami asking for this.

I can only show differences betwen AF and no AF, but what's interesting I think without AF looks better

switch to fullscreen mode for better look (F11)

Wide camera:
no AF

with AF

Long (or medium) camera:
no AF

with AF

Third Person Perspective camera
no AF

with AF

I don't know how AA would make it better but it seems on these pics that AF makes some noise on the pitch and looks weird
(referee was set up as Random, that's why they have different kits)

PS. I temporarly moved it back to main forum coz now Technical Forum has IMG code turned off and you couldn't just look at these screens ;) (it will change soon)

AF will work fine with this game - though contrary to what was posted above AF is not 100% forcible. Any older game for example one that doesn't use a Z-buffer - or any PSX emulated game, will not take advantage of it. 2D games of course too.

As for the above poster, you should be able to force it by going to:

Start>properties>advanced>3D and setting it there.

If not download 3D Analyze or Radlinker :)

I just made 5 screenshots for those who believe that Pro evolution soccer can't/don't use Anti Aliasing & Anisotropic filtering.

Those screenshots was taken with
ATI 9800 Pro - Driver: ATI 4.12B
1024*768
High Details
Anti: 4X
ANI-F: 16X

Maybe it’s just me but I think they look pretty great.

Edit: While I was writing this I noticed Trotterwatch post and aye matey you’re right.

Edit #2 I don't know about that deluxxe.
I don't use any 3rd party tool or driver but anyways...

I read that most people who have gotten AA to work are using ATI cards. Has anyone had luck with a GeForce?

Can't get it to work using the control panel nor Riva Tuner.

Official WHQL 66.93 Nvidia Drivers and a BFG Tech GeForce 6800 GT.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

well, i got it to work, BUT just look at what happens:

with radlinker i forved AF, i went in game and the grass was not "moving" anymore, its more blurry, AF is working... BUT only in 1152x864 resolution!
my desktop resolution is 1024x768, and i play with the same resolution, but AF doesn't work this way, no radlinker, no nothing makes effect.
but once i changed to 1152x864, AF does work.
i don't know why this happens, but it sucks, 'cause in 1152x864 i get a frame dropdown to around 52, 53 fps in some areas of the pitch.
