i think that this about sums it up. I didn't buy fifa 05 because it felt too linear. I'm not sure how to explain it, its like playing an action game vs an adventure game.

The action game (like fifa) follows only a few paths towards the goal (in this case A goal!)

The adventure game allows you freedom and what not.

First of all I would like to congratulate EA on making a vast and enjoyable improvement between 2004 and 2005. I enjoy 2005 a great deal and my little brother (who isnt as FIFA biased as I am) Is also addicted. There is however room for improvement (isnt there always) but I feel FIFA 2005 was a very good and enjoyable game.

1. Animatioins in 2005 are pretty realistic and enjoyable to watch. I do however find that they are somewhat overused. The animation for example when the defender grabs the forward by shoulder and pulls him down, is cool, but gets very old very fast when it happens every other game. I also feel like something needs to be said about the sprinting animation and while im on it, sprinting in general. When players run "all out" It looks like there running a marathon, I wanna see my players HAULING SOME ASS!! They need to lower there bodies dig into the ground more, and get those arms churning. This would add such a cool effect to the game becuase running would look so much more realistic. Not only is the animation for sprinting a bit off however but the gameplay aspect as well. I would suggest a short speed burst meter that declines entirley after 3-4 seconds. After the meter is gone the player will decrease his speed quickly, but the sprinting meter will recharge completley within say 8 seconds. This would make sprinting more real because that is typically how most people run.

2. Ball physics were good this year, but 3% of the time looked ridiculous, occasionly when bouncing off of players, and hitting the net.

3. Make the crowd and the stadium a solid object, I'm tired of seeing the ball fade into the crowd or through the walls of Saint Jame's Park. It would also be cool if EA could get the stadiums 100% spot on. The Goals are way to far away from the crowd in alot of stadiums. Highbury for example the goal is like 2 feet away from the crowd. In the game its like 5 or 6 yards away.

4. I want a deeper career mode still... This year was an improvement no doubt, but I would really like an even deeper career mode. I would like to host a small tournament in the off season within my career mode, schedule friendlies in the off season, schedule practices, and have more control over how and if my team develops. I want it to be almost difficult for me to be a successful manager when it comes to these things. I want my players to be far more affected by their moral. I also think EA should revamp there scheduling creator, I had an away game and it showed an airplane (indicating a travel date) but there is no travel day home, I had a game the next day so im assumeing my players all just materialized in the stadium right after their first game. EA needs to work that out for sure. Just a deeper career mode would knock my socks off.

5. More faces but im sure you guys are thinking well duh...

6. Better comantary, i hear really cool comentary now and then but usually its the same overused crap, try to intigrate the new lines in better.

7. More stadiums, especially relevant ones, Champions league finals host, UEFA cup finals host, Domestic cup hosts, ect. Which brings me to my next point, Put cup finals at a neutral ground. I'm tired of playing the FA cup at home or away, I want to play at some sweet neutral stadium like in real life.

8. More dynamic weather, Make it an option so when selecting a team to manage, Show a Global climate map which displays the climate in the specific location of a given team. So for example If i Select Corinthians in Brazil it will show a Hot climate and the area will be in red or orange or something (like weather on the news). If i select a Norweigen team however it would be dark blue and cold. The objective at which I am getting at is that depending on where you play the weather will follow (if this sounds familiar think of FIFA 2004, "Dynamic weather so choose your home wisley")

9. More shoes and try to get the official balls for the champions league and at least the official balls of the big 5 leagues.

10. Make shooting on direct kicks and option sometimes im in a piss-poor shooting spot and i would rather cross but it just isnt possible.

11. keep create a player but make the created face visible in the lineup.

12. Better transfer market, just copy madden's setup and make loans possible

13. Try to give each league's fans and identity I kind of felt this in 2005, in England the fans are all business and occasionaly chant, in Italy Spain and Germany they have more flamboyant displays such as flairs ect. Make this more apparent though.

14. I want a youth team

15. I want the MLS to be more crappy, I'm american I go to MLS games they are not better than PSV eindhoven, or most other teams that are under 3 stars, the MLS is 2.5 stars when i feel generous. Some players however are good and I think EA represented them well.

More realistic player models. Something like Club Football.....more suggestions to come.

Bring back the in-game cc from2002, where you could also edit the teams, it would have to be expanded more for the more options availible.

In career mode, we should at least have an option to start with our favorite team. We want to play it the way we want to play it, not the way EA tells us to play it.

1- Hey you should be able to manage stuff in career mode such as the numbers of each player. :kader:

2- In fifa.db in the player attributes table i found a column that says "nationality" GIVE IT AN USE FOR NATIONAL TEAMS.

3- Cinematics for the subs would be fine.

4- Not all the injured players can stay in the field, those who have minor injuries can.

5- We should be able to edit the set-pieces as we want, such as how many players to go into the box, the place where the ball will go, etc.

6- When will you get the license for Netherlands, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine, Colombia and others who deserve to be in game, or at least get right the kits, unlike Argentina's kit in 2005.

7- We should be able to set the order in the penalties definitions, also from what direction you'll kick, this was in FIFA 99, and maybe also how many run and that the keepers can move forward, and apply the proper rules for such, like if they go forward too much it goes again, if it happens again gets booking, etc.

8- Keepers should be able to get injured or get bookings, now they may just get injured in training.

9- Training mode inside career would be nice too.

I think the overall interface should be more like a VERY SIMPLIFIED total club manager.

As it is an "official licenced product", it should represent what is good about soccer- it should be skilled, but simple, it should have passionate supporters (but no hooligans) and it should overall be a showcase for soccer.

Make career mode multiplayer

Allow more than 8 human controlled teams in the tournaments, and allow us to see fixtures and sim games in the tournament modes

Add several new stadiums (examples: Aufschalke Arena, Riazor, Stade Louis II, Villa Park, Bayern's new stadium, Estadio da Luz, Dragao, Jose Alavade, and some North and South American stadiums, like Home Depot Center, La Bombonera, El Monumental, Azteca)

Add some new weather types (heat, sleet, cold, snow, etc.)

Add some more clubs, like some more South American Clubs (from countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay) and European popular clubs that have been missing (like Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Lokomotiv Moskva, Dinamo Kyiv, Ferencvaros, Steaua, AEK are all good examples)

EA should go away from the big management side of the game. Forget trying to be the new Sensible World of Soccer cause it not gonna happen.

Shooting still needs to be improved. Get rid of the 200Mph Shots please.

Attributes still need to actually work.

Goal Keepers need improving. they either make silly errors or pull off way too many superman saves.

That you can scout yourself, so you can see a game, you write wich player you think is good for your team, then contact with the player and players club about salary etc.

-A better look on transfers:

so you have to discuss about the contract of the player etc.

2. make so that the player runs are not retarded, for example so that the player doesnt stop running when you turn your back to him

4. bring back the manual high hard through ball from fifa 04, that was great

5. most people dont agree with this, but i liked it more when you didnt have the automatic through balls in fifa 04. you have to use your brain more then, which is more realistic because in real life football you dont have a ******* computer on your back that tells you exactly where and how to pass.

1. They shouldn't make 2006 release. Wait for 2 more years. First year for basic development, second year for bugs fixing (don't tell me that they don't need it)

2. Since they will make 2006 release afterall, EA (well they make loads of money) should buy KCET and let them make the game, and old FIFA crew with Danny Isaac should get busy with dish washing.

3. Since they wont, of course, read what I just wrote, I just want to say that I want better gameplay, which means... now, I hope you will notice this:

NON ****IN SCRIPTED GAMEPLAY

better graphics, better motion capture (hire Zidane and Ronaldinho damn it), better graphics, and better graphics. Yeah, that's it. Better graphics. In case you didn't saw it, yes, I want better graphics.

4. Make it on damn DVD.

Well, I didn't read any of the previous posts, so I'm sorry for that if I post something that someone else has posted. But I'll post what I think needs changed.

1. Corners. The corners in FIFA 2005 are just lame. All you have to do is play online to see that. Everyone chooses near post, and chooses the person standing inside the 6 yard box and scores on a header everytime, unless you know how to defend it, then they score 75% of the time. I hate to compare FIFA and PES/WE, but the way the corners are in PES4 is how FIFA should have their corner system. In PES4, the corners are taken just like the free kicks from your end of the field in FIFA 2005. You don't choose A, B, X, or Y (XBox Controls)...you just position your player in the direction you want to play the corner, and judge the power. That's how it should be. Because the corners in FIFA 2005 are exactly the same everytime. Not only that, but you can't play the ball to someone outside of the box, and you can't play a short corner, which really doesn't make sense.

2. Tactics glitch. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you change the tactics during the match with the on the fly tactics feature, it changes the position of the players on the pitch. I'm not talking about changing the formation, I'm talking about tactics. Example: If you change your tactics from Attack to Neutral, it will switch your Left Striker and move him to Right Striker, and vice versa. The whole point of being able to change your tactics on the fly is so you don't have to pause the game and go into the Tactics menu to change them, but if you change the tactics, you have to go into the Substitution menu to move your players back to the positions that you started them in. It does the same thing if you change your formation. Example: If you change your formation from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1, it will move your Left Center Back to Right Center Back and vice versa.

3. Keepers. They are much improved from last year, but again, by playing many games online, you can see how they are exploited. So many times, I've played against the type of person that can't score unless he takes long shots from outside the box, knowing that the keeper will punch it over the goal line for a corner 95% of the time. Then he takes the corner, chooses near post, picks the guy in the 6 yard box, and scores on a header nearly everytime. If the keeper has 1-2 seconds to figure out where to position himself to make the save, there is no reason he should be punching the ball over the goal line for a corner 95% of the time. He should be catching the ball instead. I think that they need to change that.

4. Free Kicks. The free kick system is not bad, but you should be able to take a short free kick, even when you're in shooting range.

5. Referee and Linesmen. I believe that this is 2 years in a row that the Referee and Linesmen haven't actually been on the field. The only time you see the referee is in cut-away scenes. Why he and the linesmen aren't on the field is beyond me.

6. Announcers. I don't mind Ally McCoist and John Motson, but for crying out loud, someone needs to tell Mr. Motson how to pronounce the names correctly! There are so many names in FIFA 2004 and 2005 that he says incorrectly. I thought when FIFA 2005 came out, they'd be fixed, but that wasn't the case. They just added more names that were pronounced incorrectly.

Overall, I like FIFA 2005, it's an improvement on FIFA 2004, and a welcome one at that. I just feel that there are things in FIFA 2005 that could be changed, and if they are changed, it could improve the game immensely.

we need more stadiums......oval style and olympic style dont cut it!!!! so many ppl make great stadiums out there.....now they should be included in the game. There should at least 50 stadiums....if not more in the game. For example in Italy add the Olimpico, Ennio Tardini, San Paolo, Stadio Friuli.

And antoher thing,
in derbies both teams should ahve their fans in crowd...not jsut the home team.

Celebreation after wiining the champs league or uefa cup or whatever they call it in the game should be way better. These celebrations have been **** for years. Have lift the trophy, medals to each player.....and heck maybe even the coach can come out and celebrate

The gameplay is weak to begin with. The game went from ultra-fast to ultra-slow over the years. They still have the same robot like animations, slow-reacting A.I. The game lacks dynamics and any kind of realistic flow.

Simply put.. you know what I want to say.

Yet you all keep on listing completely usless things such as more leagues, more options in the career mode, edit mode, etc.

I don't get it?

How about EA starts improving their game, for a change, not changing it every year. Why not stick to one engine and keep on improving it?

But then again, you people buy this game not me so you probably have the right to ask for whatever you want no matter how stupid it is... I just enjoy watching this show from the sidelines. :)

The option to create teams, choosing options such as stadium they play in and sponsor on their kit

First of all, i have to say the game has disapointed me somewhat but it is an improvment on '04.

The changes i suggest that would make the game better are: (sorry if some of these have been posted already)

1. Make the graphic presentation from the playing camera (i.e. Broadcast, tele, sideline cameras) better and more realistic looking with more abilty to move the position of the camera too.

2. Shirts/kits need improving too, some of the actual shading of colours are wrong, make more third kits/gk kits. The style of names and numbers are still not quite right for every kit. R.Madrid?

3. Referee's and linsmen need to be placed into the in game situation. Plus be nice to see players and manager camera shots from the bench. Also substitutions should have a cut shot too.

4. Get more licences and sponsoring. All the nike shirts don't quite look right without the nike swoosh on the shirt. Most leagues use a nike t90 footballs too.
I'm also tired of seeing the same old sponsors on the advertising boards (Get some new sponsors e.g philips, PS2, Ford Mastercard etc).

5. Players physics and appearence need improving. There are still times where player movement is still a little odd looking. More faces are needed still and what the hell is that white thing Henry has on his wrist? Hair still doesn't look like hair either. I like what they have done with the boots (Robben, Cisse wearing new adidas F50+) Please more of the same and with more players not just adidas sponsored players too.
Player appearence customisation would be cool!!

6. Add more stadiums(where did Bayern's ground go??, Millenium stadium, Stade de france, the Euro 2004 grounds, Celtic Park, City of Manchester stadium, The Riazor, Arena auf schalke, etc.), and improve the way they look to make them resemble the real stadium more. E.g. Madrid/Old trafford would look better with their electronic advertising boards. And theirs no way Anfield has so much space behind the goals.

7. Gameplay needs improving. More realistic movement, more flowing player movement, player celebrations/re-actions to misses need to be more varied. Would be nice to see more cut scenes of players (after saves by keepers, close efforts etc.) The way players take penalty kicks don't look right either (run-up and strike), their should be more variation with the way players take the kick and placement of the penalty. (E.g. chip down the middle). It would be nice if EA sports actually made it possible to dribble with the ball for more than 15 yards without losing it.

8. Please get someone other than John Motson to comentate, his voice really annoys me and the fact that he repeats himself over and over again! Get some new phrases.

CLOSE THE GAP BETWEEN THE MIDFIELD AND THE STRIKERS....

It seems like playing two soccer games on either side of the halfway line... the strikers run towards the defenders and score.While on the other side 15 players play pinball...its getting repetitive...

1. More Celebrations after Goals
Fifa 2005 did a pretty good job with variety in celebrations but they need to be longer! I want to see long celebrations with players going crazy (grabbing the corner flags, running into the goal and picking the ball up) Also, there should definately be a crowd celebration after certain key goals like in Fifa 2004. I don't know why the guys at EA took it out. The crowd should throw things onto the field, light flares, start riots, especially on important goals like Arsenal - Manchester United and Henry puts one past the keeper in the 90'. The crowd should go wild.

2. Review Shows at the End of the Game
One feature that would put Fifa above all the other games would be to add a review show at the end of the game. Now I'm not talking about a twenty minute long cinematic, but it would be spectacular to see a quick 30 second clip of your team after you win or lose or tie a game. For example: Your team (let's say Chelsea) just beat Liverpool. The game was intense and exciting. After the final cinematic, you see an anouncer from sky sports (animated of course) give a quick summary of the goal scorers. He shows the best replays and then it goes back to the menu screen. Or if your an Italian team and you just beat league leaders Juventus, the guy from Novantesimo minuto replays the key events. I know its a bit unnecessary but it would add incredible depth and would be much more interesting than just reading the game summary. It would probably require a lot more licenses but hey, they've got the money.

3. Random Events
I've just read that in Champion's League, the new game from EA, the refs can make bad calls. They can also call handballs. This is a very important feature that should be added to Fifa 2006. But something even more valuable would be to add a random event generator. Imagine playing a game and the ball is kicked out of bounds. Normally the throw in sequence would follow, but imagine if a cutscene showed that a rowdy fan stole the ball and wouldn't give it back. (If you didn't want to see it, then you could just press a button) Or imagine this: you are playing your game, thinking everything is just dandy, when suddenly a crazed specator runs out onto the pitch during a goal kick and security has to chase him down. But something as simple as someone tripping and falling during a rainy match and hurting their ankle. Or someone changing their cleats before taking a free kick. Then, EA should make an official thread where people could post their rare occurences. Each person would have a different, random play that is special to them only.

4. Get the Nike license!
EA needs to get the Nike license. Enough said.

5. Special Cinematics for Goalkeeper Fouls
Well before I say anything about that, other people have been talking about sliding the keeper. IMO, give them the ability to. If they really want to lose all their players and forfeit a game because the keeper makes a save and they are angry about it, then let 'em. Who would do something like that?:mrpimp: Actually, on second thought, don't put it in, it will tempt us. Or better yet, if your player is obviously running at the keeper with malicious intent, the game should pick that up and have the keeper push the player away (all of this in real time) while the ref comes over and ushers the player away (at this point you have no ability to go back). Some may raise the question, 'what if the keeper's back is turned?' In that case, let the player slide him. How often are you behind the keeper when he has possesion of the ball anyway?
Okay, now back to the topic. When the goalkeeper is rushin out, he is obviously at some point going to foul a player. In Fifa 05, the same cinematic for a player foul is shown, except the player is replaced with a goalkeeper's model. In '06, there should be a cinematic where the ref talks to the enraged keeper for a while, cards him if necessary, points to the spot, and shrug's the keeper's protests off (Even if the foul is outside the box).

Ok, here's another list:

1. Cup Celebrations
There needs to be more passion! The photo shoot of them holding the cup is nice, but after a while it gets boring. We need that plus- crazy fans storming the pitch, riots in the stands, players running around the field with the cup, coach should be seen. Basically, it needs to be longer.

2. Better Creation Zone
I am so happy that EA decided to put the creation center back in for 05. And it was a great start. But for next year, it needs to be more immersive. I think it would be nice if there was a bit more hair selections as well as hair color. Also, there definately needs to be a TEAM creation. It doesn't have to be gigantic, just suffiecient enough where we can color our jerseys and name the team. That's all I ask. Oh, and I know this is getting a little in depth, but in the game NBA 2K3 for the PS2, when you created a player you could scroll through a list of pronunciations that you could pick for a player's name. The list, of course, was limited, but it added a whole lot of depth. Winning Eleven 7 also had this option. You couldn't always find the perfect match, but at least you could find something that sounded somewhat like your player. Really all it needs to have is more options.

3. More Cinematics
I know that some people complain that the cinematics are too long, so EA should just have an option to skip by them. But there certainly needs to be a cinematic for subs. Even if it's only 6 or 7 seconds long, it would make all the difference. But the game should also be able to recognize stellar performances. For example, when Adriano (Inter) scored a hat-trick against Messina, the crowd gave him a standing ovation. This should be incorporated into FIFA as well. A good performance should be rewarded with a quick shot of the crowd as well as the player being congratulated by his coach before sitting down.
And that brings me to another point. I don't think I've ever seen a CG coach ever on a game before (a soccer game i mean). EA, put this in your game before PES has a chance to! In some of the basketball games (I know, I know I keep bringing up basketball games) you would see the coach screaming at his players from the sideline or giving instructions to a player before he passed it in bounds. Why shouldn't Fifa have this? You're right, there's no reason that they shouldn't. So, before a player throws the ball in (on a throw in), if they're near the bench, the coach should bark an order or two before the game goes into the throw in sequence. Or if the ref makes a bad call (which he can in the new Champion's League game, btw, and I don't know why EA wouldn't put that in Fifa 06 as well), the coach should be enraged and a cut scene should show him screaming his lungs out.
Oh, and one more necessary cinematic: The injury. How many times do you see those guys spray a player's leg with that water number stuff when your watching a real game? It happens all the time! So Fifa should at least show a cinematic of a stretcher (if it's a serious injury) or at the very least the trainer run onto the pitch (in a lesser but still critical injury). Okay, enough about cinematics. I think everyone's beaten that one to death.

4. Games With Different Atmospheres
A BIG part. The mood of a game is completely different when I'm watching a Serie A game on RAI than when I'm watching the Barclay's English Premiership on Fox Sports. The Italian station, while still interesting and intense, always seems darker to me for some reason. Unlike the bright, fast-moving Premier League on Fox Sports. They just have a different feel. And if EA is striving for absolute broadcast (which they did a fantastic job in with FIFA 2005), this is a must in the upcoming game.

5. Commentators
I know everyone's been talking about this one, even more so than cinematics. Even more than 'What is EA thinking? Put the ........ (fill in the blank) league in!' Or the 'where is the NETHERLANDS!!!' quote. And even though FIFA's commentaries are superb for a sports game, there still should be more variety. What they need is a more dynamic feel. Example: Let's say that John is talking about logos on jerseys or something. If I have a good shot on goal, Ally would completely interrupt John and say something like 'Oh what a gorgeous shot!'. I wouldn't mind that (acutally it would be better) if Ally says 'oh excuse me John, but did you see that shot?' It would just have an incredible feel. I know its a stretch but hey, this is a wishlist. Or Ally could say 'Sorry for interrupting but that pass was brilliant.' (Okay they would never say something that corny, but I'm not an announcer)


Well that's my update. More in the future possibly.

1. An indepth RTWC, including you get to pick who you want to call up for each team i.e you can pick any player in hte game who are from the country, but only for the big Nations like france, germany, england,brazil,argentina etc.

2. Better spanish commentary, not the old ones we need the liga mexicana ones

3. El Salvador, Panama, Honduars, and even Guatemala if they have time lol they only put USA, Mexico and Costa Rica

4. More Latin Club teams Once Caldes, Bolivar, Alianza Lima, CD FAS, Olimpia, Saprissa, Marathon etc like the top two or three teams from every Latin domestic league in a Rest of America league

5. More leagues Turkish, Argentine, and drop the korean league and add the Japanese

1. PLEASE include HOLLAND !
2. change the commentary. it is repeatitive and boring.
3. make the interface simpler.
4. give us choice to select our favourite team in career mode.
5. show cinematics of substitution and display the substituions or include it in commentary.
6. make the spectators more involved.
7. PLEASE RELEASE A COMPLETE VERSION OF THE GAME THAT INCLUDES ALL THE MODIFICATIONS. NO MORE PATCHES. MAKE IT FIFA2007 OR 2008 BUT PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE A CRAPPY GAME.
8. INCLUDE champions league !

Bring back the feature from the very first FIFA: WORLD CUP VIDEOS!!!!

Also, add more national squads. I'm hoping for RTWC like the 98 version, where you could have squad callups. It be nice if it were somewhat similar to the Euro cup 2004 game. It had squad callups and morale etc...

Make the ball physics better. This should be top priority. It would give the feeling of unpredictable bounces, and goals.

Improve the defensive AI, and make defenders push up the field according to a team's tactics. All defenders always sit too far back in 2005. Also, make them attack the ball better, especially around the box. They should try at all costs to get the ball away from goal.

I'd like to see the addition of handballs, as long as it's not overdone. Also a on the fly substitution menu, sorta like what MVP baseball had, so that you don't have to necessarily pause the game to make subs.

Improve the game editor, Let us edit every player, and let us create teams!!!

2005 was a huge improvement in my eyes over the past few versions. Keep it going in the RIGHT direction, don't regress....

i think they should improve the face editing (PS2 version) so that the people you make actually look normal. I also think the old masters league (or somthing like that. Its the league in 99 where you could have a league with loads of teams from all round the world) should be brought back in.

hmmm after reading i don't think i've seen anyone posted this.. i want manager's reaction!!!! i mean show the managers reaction when they score or something. they should create real faces of top managers man. injuries, i love to see stretchers being shown and physio doing their job.!!!!!

I think fifa 2004s career mode was a good start, but 2005 was overboard in the "manager" bit.

We need a good solid transfer system.

Make the training like TCM- set your players objectives etc.

And lots of stats available

yup they can do the kit thing...they can randomize the pos. of the logo's...and the team which ur managing u shud be able to put the logo's where u want em to be..also there shud be sponsors for ur kits and new adboard's every season

yeh i agree with what's all been said. I especially would like them to spend extra time on each well known players facial details, include alot more tricks like elatico, flicks and better stepovers. Yeah seeing the subs coming of the bench subbing with the players on field will be awsome to. Another thing, newer commentating phrases getting bored of the old ones.

So if it's January and you're playing at Celtic, it should be cold and a chance of snow, and the pitch would be very hard,o the ball would bounce more. Also, this could effect injuries. In cold weather, players could be more apt to hurt themselves while sprinting (ie, pulled hamstrings etc...). As well as in hot temperatures, players tire quicker due to the heat.

In career mode, I'd like to see players miss matches due to international call-ups, and more random things like that.

In career mode, I'd like to see players miss matches due to international call-ups, and more random things like that. GREAT ideas!!!!!!

There are soooo many things, especially wrt gameplay and how it sims soccer (CORNERS!).

But a couple areas maybe folks have not hit on.

1. Classic Club teams of the past - not meaning the last few years same champ teams as in the game already, but teams like early-1960's Penarol and Santos, EPL winners from the first few years before Man-U and Arsenal took over, that kind of stuff.

2. Full editing out of the box, rather than waiting around for CC or trying to download a bunch of 3rd party s/w with varying degrees of success.

3. Of course more leagues, Argentina, Uruguay, Rep. Ireland even! But that has already been said.

4. Fix the kits! Man there are some really off ones even on rather prominent teams!

5. The kind of thing EA might actually do - better camera zoom. I play on 1280x1024x32 - the max detail on the PC - with zoom setting at its closest and you still don't really see much player detail except on the cut-aways. Madden you can zoom right in so I know EA can do this. No point in making and downloading all those nice kits if you can't friggin see em most of the game!

Oh and I almost forgot...

You really need a way to save off the post-game or halftime highlight reels like you can instant replays. And then a way to use those outside of FIFA in some MS program or something generic or open-source (for instance I would like to create my own career mode highlight reel for each season with a summarry of each game - without EA doing it for me).

And while your at it subs summary screen like the scoring and booking ones post-game, with cut away shots for in-game subs and for how much added time.

about playes sprints...all the players look like Figo running...bend their heads and it seems they almost don't move...it gets hard to reach the bottom of the field.

in pes, ronaldo has an unique way of running, zidane of kicking...superstars have unique everythings...but there are 'patterns' of running, kicking and passing, which are related to the player body...slimmer players run differently of the strongest ones...and kick differently too...ea could develop stars's styles individually and create like...8 patterns and attribute them to the players that play like those correspondent patterns

boots: why they have so many rights and don't create boots correctly? i'd rather believe that they didn't focus on that so much because they wanted to reaaaally improve the gameplay, so, that turned secundary.

I have already posted something before very similair to this, but that was very early on and i wanted more people to see it. It takes quite a while to read so i'll break it up

1. More Celebrations after Goals
FIFA 2005 did a pretty good job with variety in celebrations but they certainly need to be longer. To add to the authenticity of the game, EA should include extra lengthy celebrations with players going absolutely crazy. For example: Grabbing the corner flags, running into the goal and picking the ball up, goalies sprinting from their boxes to congratulate teammates. Another major addition should be the incorporation of crowd celebrations. Of course, not every goal excites the crowd so much that they light flares and storm the pitch, but key goals need to be rewarded with excessive fan celebrations. What I mean is, if you ever watch a Manchester Untied – Arsenal game and Henry beats the keeper in the 90’ (hypothetically of course), the crowd goes nuts. It might even start a riot, which would be interesting if added to FIFA 06. Plus it adds to the realism. I don’t know why EA didn’t keep the short cinematic from 2004 of the crowd cheering. Even if the celebration was the same every time and they were all basically wearing the same color, I still thought it was pretty neat.

2. Review Shows Format
One feature that would lift FIFA above all the other games in terms of realism would be to add a review show format at the end of the game in place of Career Central Menu. Sure, it’s improved since 2004’s, but nothing would be more immersive than to have a Sky Sports box in place of that Career Central menu. Like on the right side you would see your top scorers, then after a while that screen would fade into ‘Upcoming Match Fixtures’ or something like that (with buttons like circle and box to see in depth stats and fixtures, just like it is in 2005). Along the bottom, the results from your previous game should scroll across, such as goal scorers and bookings summary (like they do on Sky Sports News). To the left you would see a short clip of the previous games best moments. Or for an Italian League game, the menu could be slightly altered to add a different atmosphere. Or for the EuroSport channel, which has its own type of interface. It’s a bit unnecessary, but IMO it would be a welcome change.

3. Random Events
In Champion's League, the new game from EA, the referees can make bad calls. They can also call handballs. This is should no doubt be included in FIFA 2006 as well (I don’t know why they wouldn’t). But something even more valuable would be to some sort of distinguishing attribute so that no two people have the same experience. Just as an example, let’s say the ball is crossed into 18 and after much confusion the keeper accidentally punches the ball into the goal. A special cut scene would show the keeper’s distress as well as a teammate comforting him (or yelling at him, whichever works). The only interesting thing would be that this same thing never happens (or rarely happens) to anyone else. Or even something as simple as a player slipping during a rainy match and hurting his ankle, or a kicker taking a free kick changing his cleats before. It makes the whole experience unique and EA could even start an official forum that allows players from all over the world share their distinctive happenings. It would add incredible depth if nothing else. But if they don’t have anything like this, than at least give us a crazed fan running out onto the pitch once in a while.

4. Get the Nike license
Nike license. Enough said

5. Sliding the Keeper
Why not give us the ability to slide the keeper. I mean, if some guy wants to forfeit a game by sliding the keeper five times because he’s frustrated, then let him. Or a better solution would be to let us do it at least once, and then after that do what they did in FIFA 2005, where you don’t really have control of the player. Plus you need a special cinematic that shows the player getting sent off and then follow him as he walks to the locker room and is booed at (or cheered) by the crowd, depending on which team has the most supporters. Or possibly the keeper could get injured, something that does happen, though rarely.


6. Cup Celebrations
There needs to be more enthusiasm for cup and tournament wins instead of the same old photo shoot. I mean, sure it’s nice, but it is pathetically short. EA should lengthen the celebration to include players running around the pitch with the actual cup. Or if it’s a major win, the crowd should either storm the pitch or riot.

7. Better Creation Zone
This year was a start. But more selections for hair, eyes, etc. And team creation

8. More Cut Scenes and Animations
Of course there should always be an option to skip through them so the flow of the game is not interrupted. One of the most important ones is the substitution cut scenes. They don’t even have to be long, just put them in. The sub cut scene should vary though, to award good performances with extremely loud cheering and bad performances with boos. A longer cinematic should appear when the player has done well (like scoring a goal), maybe even a standing ovation. Then follow the player as he sits on the bench and is congratulated by the coach (only for the lengthier ones). That’s another thing that should be added as well.
In other sports games like NBA 2K3 you could actually see the manager. And the same should be true in FIFA. Even if it’s a generic character model, it still makes a difference. It would add a lot if you could see the coach yelling at the ref after he cards one of your players. But why not add the coach pacing on the sideline even during live play, its not that hard. Right now all the players sitting on the bench are stiff and they don’t move. I don’t see how it’s so hard to give them a little animation to make it more realistic. And when the player is taking a throw in the coach could be there saying something to him (not in a cut scene)
There’s one more EA should add. That is the injury cinematic. If the guy is seriously injured then the stretcher should come out and take him off of the pitch. Or if it is not that serious then at least have the medical staff come out onto the field and spray his leg with that numbing stuff.

9. Games With Different Atmospheres
This is a BIG part that is very crucial to an authentic game. The mood of a game varies depending on what type of game on TV you are watching. For example, the atmosphere of a game on RAI is completely different than the Barclay's English Premier League on Fox Sports. The broadcast is very different for an Italian League game, which always seems to be darker, though the intensity and excitement is still the same. When I’m watching Fox Sports, the Premiership games seem brighter and more fast-paced. And for the Argentinean Leagues, the broadcast is even brighter and the camera is more zoomed in. They all just have a different feel, so that if you turned on a game, turned the volume off, and didn’t know the teams, you could still guess what country the game was being played in or at least what league it was. EA did a great job with absolute broadcast this year, and they can build on it for 2006.

10. Commentators
Even though FIFA's commentaries are really good for a sports game, there still should be more variety. It needs a more dynamic feel. Commentators should not interrupt each other or if they do they should apologize. So if John is rambling on about something and a goal or other important play happens, then Ally should politely interrupt him and change the subject to the goal or whatever happened.


11. Fans
Fans should have more cut scenes, since they are a crucial part to a game. On subs, a cut scene of the crowd should be shown if the performance is above or below average. There should be fan cut scenes after a cup win, like them storming the field and starting riots. And there should be fan celebrations on important goals. Maybe they could have a little more life in-game, so that some of them could be walking around the stadium.

Take the first touch to the next level..

The first touch is really a good thing and i want ea to keep working on it.

- If you flick the right thumbstick once it will work like it does in fifa 2005.
- If you double flick, the player will do i fake in the same motion he revices the ball. (This would really be in favor of the really technical players)
- If you hold the thumbstick, the reciving player will kick the ball far infront of him and challenge the defender for a run. (This would really be in favor of the really fast players)
- If you hold the left trigger and flick the ball he'll do one move.
- If you hold the left trigger and doubble flick the ball he'll do one move.
- If you hold the left trigger and hold the thumbstick, the player will lob the ball to himself in the direction you pressed the right thumbstick.

Sky's the limit ;)
And with this system you can really separate the technical and fast from the less skilled players ..

More Generic stadiums
if u r not going to get official ones make a contest to design some generics stadiums to use with "smaller" teams

1. Better Graphics, Fields, stadiums, kit's, refs, boots, balls, nets, fans. Fifa should be a game that pushes systems, i don't have an athlon fx-53, 4 gig's of ram, SLI'ed 6800 ultra's, and 1.2 terrabytes of hdd space to paly a game that uses 1/4 of that.

It's in the details, no wait if it's in the GAME....it's in the game, someone somewhere said that, i forget who.

2. Better Audio, most people have surround sound and some fourm of an SB audigy, use it.

3. Better animation and movement. Players shouldn't walk into someone else, ball movement should be of utemost importance and player animations in 05' are horrid for todays computers.

4. Game speed is off, all the plays seem to have 3 speed normal fast, and Henry. I realize thise game was built off of a hockey game (or so it seems) but seriously.

5. The announcers...suck, Madden is a wonderful example of what is possible, fluid commentary, what they makes sense in a given situation. Stadium announcers in all launguages are great.

6. Football stadiums are maniacal places to watch a game, the ones in 05' are roughly that of a midseason milwaulkee brewers baseball game, lacidasical. Fix it.

7. Widescreen resolutions, more control over better graphics.

8. Player managment system, and what you have now is not a system.

9. Online play is fun but could be better, why do the same bs moves work on everyone online...it stinks, and it gives that loser chap in his parents basement at 27 who plays all day an unfair advantage, drat my bad for having a life and not being able to beat said kid, because i don't dedicate 9 hours a day to a damn game. I want to play a game of football, not just a sting of key commands.

10. More stat's, More league leaders, etc...

These suggestions go for both xbox, ps2, and pc.


I've been playing ea soccer games since sega genesis and every year my expectations are never met, and im bloody perturbed.

I'll add more as i see fit, but im out i need to go lose again to said 27 year old in mum's basement.

I write this every year but we'll probably see no diffrence til fifa 2012 ..

Use diffrent player types, making the same animations in mo-cap .. I want 11 diffrent running styles, shooting styles, passing styles ect .. And then adapt those 11 types into the players. And you know, they have all these star players to make the commercials or whatever. For fifa 2004 they had like Henry, Ronaldinho and Del Piero.. Once you have them, put that motion-cap equipment on them while you're at it. Money is obviously not a problem for EA, it's lack of vision ..

cashless i really like your first touch suggestions. i think they would work really well. ea definately has the money; i wouldn't be so pissed off at ea trying to take over the world if they pushed their talent to their full potential instead of trying to rip off their customers every year with a mediocre effort...

Ok heres my list:

First off many people talk about licensing, well im not because of the fact that id rather have EA focus on other things rather than making new teams.

1. Graphics:

Now heres an obvious one, I think they should focus on exsisiting teams and making there kits much much better, like making everything from logos to the numbers more sharper and having the names more readible, hair should be redone, not all hair is shiny, and yes please make the hair move realistically or the best you could like what in 2002 they had nice hair movement. more generic faces, etc.. Make the nets more dynamic and sway more after the ball hits it, not just a little movement and thats it, make it move a lot more than what it does now and longer. Oh and somehow make the weather more "dynamic" like in Madden 2005 the game starts out during the day and ends during the name, or it could start raining then stop then come back, this would be amazing in Fifa.

2. AI:

Have the AI get smarter and work a lot more like a team. have players make runs by themselves and if your running downthe field your teamates will help clear space for you or get open if the defenders are closing in on you, when the other team has the ball make your team members put more pressure.

3. Gameplay

Well this im not all that great at explaining but the speed of the game was good and being able to change it in 2005 was awesome, I thought the past fifas were too fast until 2004 came in which I liked because it slowed the game down to more of a strategy game rather than run from one end of the field to the other to make a goal, Also this ties in with the AI by making the AI smarter and act more like a team and like the actual player is a must, but making runs, blocking, stealing the ball, passing taking shots etc.. just makes it seam like your playing with a team rather than by yourself. The goals should be more dynamic and less scripted. I belive when you take free kicks we should be able to turn off the little markers and such and keep it realistic because in real like we dont have that option so why have it in Fifa. I think that would change the way people think of fifa more as a simulation game rather than an arcade game because of the fact its harder that way.

Well for now thats all I can think off..

i want this to happen...every winter the ground shud change and the ball should also change.In winter the players should have long sleeves instead of short 1n's

Lastly adboard's should change every yr.

U can customize ur kit ingame and u get new kit sponsors every yr.

ive seen Fifa developers are looking to take elements from other ea sports games...which is great

however they should do it a little faster

Need Better Atmosphere !.


Just downloaded the PES4 Demo the whole thing is S***house except for one thing the atmosphere, it sounds like a real soccer match, Need more noise from the stands, when i play as Barcelona it's always really quiet when i play not many chants as there should be. For example between a match between Barca and Real, in fifa theres nothing significant that makes it significant as in real life it is, so a big Barca shirt on won end with flares with confetti and blue and red toilet paper rolls (H) would be awesome and that is just like in real life, and more about atmosphere and passion when celebrating cups, should have a big stand with like Sepp blatter standin there presentin the trophies or somthing with confetti goin everywhere and the captain liftin the trophie and all the media peeps takin photos, that what it needs. (H)

Handballing, total controll, graphics etc. A total remake is needed!

Well at least in the New CL game they've got Handballs and Injury time shown. :) I'd expect they'd put that in Fifa 2006. :)

-Get commentary voices for more people, and maybe even have some of the replacement players have name voices. I'm sick of hearing Keane every time Paddy Quinn gets the ball for Man United.

-Put money to actual currency rather than points

-In the transfer window, actually have bids rather than just getting a yes or no.

-one of the biggest things in my opinion, is the level of players in matches such as the cups, and community shield. EA should make it so that the bigger clubs (United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barca, ACM, Juve.......) play their less talented players in these types of matches. With United, I always use guys like Liam Miller, Chris Eagles, David Bellion, Quinton Fortune....... and they have to face guys like Henry, Ronaldinho, and the like. Implement a system where there is some "match relevance". For instance, if a team is guaranteed first place in the ECC, they're likely not going to play their starters. However, if they need to win their last ECC Group Match to qualify, then they'll play their starters. lol i'm sure some of you are rather confused right now.

-accurate commentary. i'm sick of hearing "he won't mind that miss too much as they're already through to the next round" when i'm in second place in the ECC group after only 2 games, or that a win is just a morale booster because they're already champions when i'm only up by 3 points with 10 matches left to play. also, there needs to be more variety on things like "he won't mind that miss too much as they're already through to the next round." it seems that every time i miss a shot in some Cup match now, i hear that exact phrase.

-new commentators, or at least have a few different ones. the same people don't always commentate every match day after day. i don't care if Motson and Mccoist are in the next game, but if they are, put in other ones and other languages as well.

-indoor matches/practices

-in career mode, have something where you can actually have team practices to improve skills which is a good thing, but on the other hand it also fatigues your players so you can't train any time you want. maybe have a practice menu where in one session you work one 3 things, and you select what skill you want to work on for each thing (shooting, set pieces, strength training, stamina/speed, tackling/defending... stuff like that).

-In FIFA 2003, norwegian (and of course other countries lower divisions) 1. and 2. division teams + the Tippeliga (Norwegian premier league) was included for relegation and promotion. Sure the 1. and 2. division teams didn't have very updated squads, and the kits were basic. I hope FIFA 2006 have something like this.

-Practice mode in Career, and when the season is over, you can have trainings and arrange friendly matches until the season starts again.

-Indoor trainings in artificial turf halls when it's winter outside.

-Real fixtures, or at least let the season start at the right time of the year (i.e the norwegian leagues starts in the beginning of April and ends in October/November.

National teams:
-You can decide your squad before every game by selecting players from your country (i.e. if you play with Norway, you can add any of the norwegian players in the game to your squad, if you understand)

Referees:
-More referees, and different whistles, different lines-men.

-Better refees. Handballs, human mistakes both in offsides and other situations like penalties and freekicks.

-Referees discuss with linesmen if he's not sure.

-The referee doesn't whistle every time the ball is over the line, only if the players don't know it.

Weather:
-When it's winter, it could snow som places (i.e. in Scandinavia), and if it's not snowing, it could be snow surrounding the pitch and snow on the stadium roof. If it snows, the snow lays down on the pitch, or if the stadium has under-heat it melts the snow and the pitch gets slippery, and that affects the players and the balls characteristics.

-The pitch also gets slippery if it's raining, or if it just have rained.[

Gameplay:
-More control over the players. I remember in FIFA 2003 and earlier, you could tackle the keeper. This is impossible in FIFA 2005 (and even in CL 04/05).

-Added time to last a little longer (i.e. 3 minutes added time lasts for 1.5 real minutes or something like that)

-Show how long added time has lasted.

-Select time and season.

-You can set players in warm-up before substitutions.

-Injured players gets threatment from the teams doctors

-If you have used all your subs, you can take off injured players.

-Substitution animations.

-Select which players who should be in the square on corners, free kicks and so on...

-Select which players that takes left and right freekicks, not only one player for both sides. (Just as we select who should take corners from left and right)

-Have a list of which players that takes penalties in a shoot-out.

-Discuss the number of subs with the other teams manager before match.

UPDATE: -If one team gets over 3 (?) red cards, the match ends with victory to the other team. (Is it 2-0 the match ends?)

-Bring back the corner and freekick system from CL 04/05, but at freekicks, we should be able to decide the curl of the ball. I suggest that we have the little ball in the lower left corner, and on the ball, we have a slider that moves from left to right to left to right and so on, and when we press D, the slider stops (if we want left curl, we press D when the slider is on the right side of the little ball), and after that again, it comes a slider that moves up and down, and if we want left curl with a little banana, we just stop the slider on the bottom of the ball, if you understand, and then we press D for the power just as in CL 04/05.

Other:
-Indoor stadiums (Futsal, artificial turf (?))

-Modelled subs and managers sitting on their bench (not only bad models, but the player models sitting there)

-Built-in Creation Centre

-Youth teams

-Fix the night-lighting of the players. They aren't made of metal, you know... ;)

Ok here's want i assume should have.

-Light Pollution in the night sky, they got it right in CL 04/05.
-At least 2 or 3 stadiums from Portugal.

That's all i can think of for the time being.

1. the ref needs to have a real brain, i hear that he does have a brain in the UEFA 04/05, so i doubt they would take this away from fifa 2006
2. my Center attacking midfielder should friggin attack like the word in his position, he is not the center defending midfielder now is he darnit
4. make the grass look different for each stadium, every team has their own turf/grass manager right, so they should cut the grass different from another one, i hate how no matter what stadium you pick in fifa 2005, while your playing they all look identical
5. take out the lower leagues so you guys have more friggin time to better gameplay, i dont care if I have 400 teams to choose from. just put the major leagues in. there is no point for division 1-3

I love FIFA 2005 but there are things that need fixed

for this i think it needs, a custom player, make your own celebrations... that kinda stuff

There definately needs to be better moves:
1. The Stepover
This is a basic move that is deadly if pulled off with some accuracy. All players should be able to do this one, but to actually fake someone out I’d say you’d need at least a skill above 60 or possibly higher. After all, these are professional defenders.
A. I think the easiest way to pull off this move is with a simple flick of the analog stick to the player's left or right. If a person with a skill below 70 attempts it, then they should probably not fake anyone out. Either that or mess up (kind of like what it is in FIFA 2005)

2. The 360 Spin
This is one of my favorites. It’s a lot harder to do than a stepover so I’m thinking players need to have at least a skill of 75 for them to fake out a defender. Or maybe even higher because defenders aren’t stupid enough to fall for this one every time. It of course should be trickier to do as well.
A. I would like for this to be a complete rotation of the analog stick, in either direction. It seems the easiest that way. Also, the execution needs to be faster execution than '05s. A defender is not going to stand there and watch a player take ten seconds to spin around him.

3. The Double Stepover
This move is really cool to watch if done correctly. In real life it does take fast foot skills, so in FIFA it should be the same. I can’t really think of what the skill level should be, but reasonably high. Maybe the same as the 360, but I don’t really know.
A. It would make sense to be double tap of the analog stick in the desirable direction because if a single stepover is once to the right or left, then a double stepover is twice to the right or left.

4. Christiano Ronaldo Move
I don’t know what it’s called but it’s the move where Christiano Ronaldo quickly cuts the ball behind his back in the opposite direction. I don’t think C. Ronaldo should be the only one able to do this because I bet other players can do it as well, but I’m sure it does take a sensible amount of skill.
A. I can’t really think of what the logical controls would be, maybe left—down or right—down.

5. The Nutmeg
EA had it in Euro 2004 and I don’t know why they took it out. Sure it was maybe to easy to pull off, but it was definitely fun. So in 2006 there should be the nutmeg. Naturally you have to have some kind of fake to get the defender’s legs open, so whatever works the best and is easiest. Probably left or right (stepover or simple fake) then up. Any player should be able to at least attempt the move. Whether it works or not depends on the player's skill.
A. A screwup results in an embarrassing loss of possession followed by boos from the crowd.

scrap the credits!!! 04 had a great system of millions and decimals, you could up your bid and all that. here you need a set amount, no questions asked. i think you should be able to barter and stuff. credits=lame

2. More realistic player positioning & movement. (ie: Defence & midfield operating correctly )
Which to be fair, seems to be sorted now in UCL game.

4. Better Goal Nets ... For godsake, it,s like kicking a ball against a concrete wall. ( bring back the net bulge )
I do like the way that even the net restraint ropes, flex.. When you hit top corner, in PES ... ( nice detail )

5. A Visable sign of Substitutions.. Even if it,s by means of, On screen graphics. ( let us know he,s on )

6. Closer control , when using First Touch... Great idea & Addition.
But controlling the ball a yard away from yourself, is a no no. More consistantcy needed too...

7. No more Button Delay & Player freezing / strolling.. In PS2 version.

8. Career mode needs Improved player search engine.. ie: Individual player positions & pricing.
The ability to make your own offer for a player, also take on Free transfers & On Loan players for a season.

9. More realistic lower division stadiums & crowds... ie: empty seats & bad pitches, later on in the season.
Also ... After playing a season and reaching a cup final, it would be good to play in a nice stadium,
instead of your own s**t hole 3rd division ground.. :D

CUSTOMISATION:
-In-game creation center, like in 2002 – customization of existing players – team edit and player edit: player numbers, appearance,
-LONG SLEEVES! There should be an option, similar to how you choose the team captain, etc., where you can toggle on/off the sleeve type for every player. Why the heck did they put the data for long sleeves into 2005 if you can’t even use it?! Gudjohnsen (along with a host of other players) just doesn’t work in short sleeves, (even if they did improve his face this year).
-Different player builds (body types) like in WE/PES.

WEATHER:
- snow, sleet, hot/cold temperatures, all affecting various play conditions and based on location and time of year.
-Along with weather, how bout having relatively accurate daylighting and passage of time? Maybe this is ridiculous, but if I start a game at sunset, should the sun still be setting when the whistle blows for 90 minutes? I don’t think so.

GAMEPLAY:
-Better GK intelligence – I’m tired of year after year, when the ball is rolling out of bounds, the keeper only moves toward it, and fails to understand that in one second ball will be in a different location.
-A power-up bar on the drop-kicks by the keeper – are you telling me all keepers kick the ball the same length all the time??
-Dives/professional fouls (both for which you risk being carded) – why leave so many button combinations unused, anyway?
-bring back theLOW SHOT from any distance! The chip shot is rarely used by comparison. Why not keep both, having one left trigger for one and right trigger for the other?
-penalties have sucked for years now. Fix it.
-Better and more controllable player moves – the shot fake is a nice idea, I suppose, but it is crap in 2005. I’ve had it work once, and since given up. As for the moves, there should more moves, and more complexity and clear precision in performing them.
-ability to (once again) tackle the keeper.
-variable power (not scripted) on thru balls/thru lobs
-And I’m not even going to mention corner kicks.

CAREER:
-More stats – last year the career mode stats were pretty decent, and this year they are crap. How come? Probably so EA can advertise “All new career statistics!” for 2006.
-an option to lock player ages (or another way of dealing with the problem of your favorite players retiring just a few years into your career)
-incorporate more manager decisions/features.
-player loans, contracts, and transfer requests
-greater accuracy of tournaments to real-life counterparts - if i get knocked out of CL in third place in group stage, i should go to the uefa cup. also: neutral grounds for final.

OTHER:
-Cinematic substitutions
-Better celebrations – I’d like to see robbie fowler snorting the end line like it’s cocaine (okay, not really, but give me something).
-fix commentary (hopefully done in UCL)
-(unlockable?) indoor stadium – sure beats the stupid rewards in ucl (beachball?!).
-Better team management / t.m. menu – allow field position of individual players to be tweaked (e.g., so I can allow a certain defender with good shooting ability to push up), and allow defenders as a whole to push up, so as to contribute to corners, and allow for the possibility of being beat on the counterattack.
-Real referees, instead of the same two guys in every country. I will say, though, it was nice to see anders frisk in the ucl screenshots.
-ability to (once again) save instant replays.

BOTTOM LINE:
-Stop taking away fifa features one year just so they can introduce them two years later (ex: "all new crossing system"). (i.e., KEEP first touch, off-the-ball control, etc., and continue to develop them)

Overall: more freedom, less script.

When you kick away a long ball and all the closest players get out of screen, you allways know the defender is going to catch up with that ball first. The ultimate example of this is in corners. In real life, the defending team got their last defenders around the mid mid-field. In fifa they stand like 4-5 players 25 meters into their defensive half, and that makes it impossible to get a realistic fast break.

I also want much beter animations for everything, some new animations in fifa 2005 are nice but far from good overall. And i have said this a billion times... I want individuality. All players move and look exactly the same, it's 2005 damnit, time to take it to the next level!!

Although i Do agree with you about the lack of effort put in about the player names on kits ...
c,mon some players have their first, and even first & second names on their Fifa shirts. (Better research needed, EA )

I also agree about the Transfers / on loan players, and improvement on some player faces.
But Not all goalkeepers play in short sleaved shirts, and not all out field players play in long sleaved shirts. eg:
GK. Buffon , Toldo , Canavaris, etc. Short sleaves... ( sorry about spelling )
PL. Giggs , Bergkamp, etc. Long sleaves...
They have to try to get an even balance. :)

I didnt mean that all outfield players should have long sleeves and all keepers should have short sleeves...

i cant really get into the game with 10 minute halves. it feels too frantic. i dont see why fifa dosent have 45 or at least 30 minnute halves. in 2003, the field was huge, the way its supposed t be, and even 45 min. halves had a score of 2 or 3 goals. in 05 the field seems tiny; no mans land is only a couple feet, and you go back and forth non stop throughout the game. bring back 45 min or at least 30 min halves!

another thing, the pace of the game. waay too fast. the way the players trap the ball and pass feels like theyre on speed. there should be a button to walk (fifa 04) and when i put the game speed on "slow" i expect it to be slow!!

last thing, have tons more cinematics. not only subs and such, bt when the ball goes out for a corner, have the player go over and scoop it up or get it from the ref, walk over and place it on the mark. same with thow ins and FK's. when it just changes view and shows the player there already it dosent feel realistic. and injuries need cinematics, big time! i dont want the guy limping all over the field risking worse. take him off!

These are the things I would have in FIFA 2006.

1. Creation Centre in the actuall game, like previous FIFAs like 98. And that I can edit all players, if Beckham grows his hair long
2. Why bother locking stadiums, kits and balls when some guy is always going to do a patch for it? keep the stuff unlocked.
3. Oficial balls for all competitions
4. (I know youre working on it) all licenses, UEFA.
5. Have the option of doing warm-ups before matches, with background music building up the atmosphere.
6. This year in tournament mode, league, there is no fixtures or results list, please add that.
7. In England and im sure in other countries, every team has a song for every goal that the home side scores, like QPR in The Championship have "Papas got a brand ne Pig Pack" or Liverpool and Celtic "youll never walk alone". Add this.
8. When an away team scores, you can actually hear the away fans cheer, please add that in the game.
9. Please add most if not all national teams like in 98, and off course WC quals.
10. Also in league or carrer mode I would like to play with more than 8 teams, in career mode I would like my dad or friend to play in the same carrer game.
11. Like in NFL Madden, have the actuall managers of the important clubs.
12. Like in previous editions, different language comentary.
13. Real Refs
14. when the ball hits a bar or just goes wide, the crowd should go "oooo"

Fifa COULD be great. They really need to do some tweaks here and there, and it has the potential to be a great game. They are fun enough I suppose, but still far from beating the sheer quality of Pes3 and 4.

EA is great? Ever heard the term, milking the same cow over and over again? They are great until you buy the game, afterwards they don’t even offer you a thought. Using ages to create patches, releasing games that should not even passed the beta 1 stadium. As soon as new game is released (ie. 2006), the previous stops working online. Their policy, way to hung up in making money, lack of patches and way to early releases makes this company probably as far as you can get being great company. EA is not a company by gamers; it’s a company by businessmen with only one thought in mind, making more and more money. Using old technology, with a minor tweak here and there in new releases. If you have played UCL you will find that the match engine is the same as Fifa 2005, with some new minor additions. The way I see it, and the way EA could have been a great company, was if UCL was released as a patch, and not a standalone game. But this in turn would not satisfy the businessmen in EA. Great? Far from it! But of course this is my opinion.

Needs to be realistic, they did good with madden 2005, they've got contracts, released, free agents, money, set ticket prices, career mode needs to be deeper, put the career on for 30 years like madden. :)

i don't think ea will do this otherwise tcm series will lose it's importance as there will be no need of making it. Also if they put the career for 30yrs. most of us will get bored as they will not make the career mode as deep as madden.

It is a shame that EA don,t seen to have the commitment that Fifa fans have, or the ability to see the games potential.

I didnt read thru this whole thread but i would like more stats,i hate that they dont have leaders tables for goals even on PC and that they dont save your stats from your career when u finish a season..More stats more stats! :f***:

They use to have those stats. Even on FIFA 2003 you could still tell who was the goals leader etc. Why they took that out? Who the heck knows!!!!!!!!!:kader:

Well said!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are correct on every point. UCL should be a patch not a new game released before the next real release.
Actually the only way I would buy UCL is if they included the Copa Libertadores (with all the S. American clubs tha qualified) along with the European tournament. And if they added Cup UEFA as well. Maybe then I would look at the game as a way to play with clubs that are not regularly included with FIFA games.

I know a lot of this will be repeating what many others have written, BUT....
First of all I think FIFA 2005 is the best of the series but if you want to make FIFA 2006 perfect....
The real game has diving, handballs, nutmegs...so should FIFA 2006. Ever real match has a header that ends up being a collision where the guys going for the ball bump heads. Let's see those guys knocked out, on the pitch, holding their heads. When a player gets carded he generally tries to "help up" the player he just injured. Let's see that too. If they can over do all the replays of the tackles, they can show more animations.
More generic stadiums. More real stadiums. More faces. There should be more generic faces instead of playing with and against teams that have three or four sets of triplets. Better hair. More kits. More chants.
Better night time images. Better weather, including sweat when the weather is hot and blowing cold air when its cold. Madden is the perfect example of the way to do weather.
The midfield gap had better be gone in 2006. Using basketball terminology, allow us to use the half court game, moving everyone forward, instead of being forced to play fastbreak to score. Look at how someone like Cafu plays for Milan: a defender who turns into a wing player and plays from end to end.
More varied opponents AI in tactics. Tell us how many minutes in extra time instead of stretching it as long as possible to allow the computer opponent to tie or win the game.
For Rest of the World teams add more UEFA and Copa Libertadores.

What i would like to see is when a player gets sent off it dusn F*** up your formation and you can move the players wherever you want like in PES4

I think there should be more freedom defending. It is for me a real problem sometimes to choose the right player to defend. I keep changing and changing and it seems the right player i want to choose is impossible to achive or it takes ages til i get him.

This becomes horrible, specially in human vs human games.

So i propose that the changing player button should subsist but the 2nd analog stick should be given a new functionality. When defending, the 2nd anolog stick should be used to change to the player we wish, pointing directly to the one we want, and keep changing until we finally get the player we wish. This would make the process much faster and would make the defences much more dinamic.

Total freedom not only attacking but defending as well.

Bring back long sleeves, substitution cinematics, and celebrations after a cup/league win and man of the match.

Biggest thing to fix (on Xbox version anyway) is the player swapping/position issue when changing tactics and mentality.

Seasonal and regional weather... as well changing weather during the game.

Weeknight cup matches should ALWAYS be under the lights, or played at twilight with a gradual change to night conditions.

Eastern European clubs... CSKA, Lokomotiv etc.

More atmospshere specific to different regions and tournaments.

Re-vamp the useless off the ball controls... make it easier to play a ball into open space.

Get rid of the store. Unlockables need to accessible WITHOUT having to play EVERY league, tournament etc to unlock them.

I beg you for these things:

1. Substitutions cinematics - I was playing ISS 64 (I know OLD!), and it had cinematics for substitutions. Fair enough they weren't great graphics but it just seemed so cool , and i'm surprised FIFA haven't emulated it.

2. More faces - No Robben, Kaka? I sometimes don't but players because they don't have real life faces. That is what normally is the BIG difference betweeen FIFA and Pro Evo - REAL FACES. What is going on. Also, some faces need to be improved e.g. Rooney

3. When selling a player, instead of having just one team offering at a time, why not have a list of teams willing to buy the player so it easier to see which teams to sell to. I wanted to sell Wes Brown to AC Milan, and i swear i had to keep on rejecting offers form Arsenal, Chelsea,etc. about 20 times. It's ridiculous.

4. As much as i like the corners, they are just too easy. If I'm losing or drawing and i get a corner in the last minute, I KNOW i will score. I'd like the old arrow technique.

5. Indoor - EVERYONE LOVED INDOOR ON FIFA 98!! :) Why did you get rid of it. I loved that. I woulda bought Fifa 98 just for that even if the game was naff (which it wasn't)

6. Cup Cinematics - We play 40 odd games to win a league or cup and all we get is a PHOTO FINISH! COME ON FIFA! I remember on 98 where you could see the team lifting the World Cup. That was great. It would be brilliant with all the League teams too!

These might have been mentioned before so apologies...

- more teams from around the world. The current "Rest Of World" section comprises about 5 countries (greece, czech, turkey, poland, argentina). THERE ARE OVER 200 COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD!!! Hardly rest of world is it?

- Jukebox is taking up unnecessary disk space, which could be used on upgrading / adding features. If I want music I'll buy the CD.

- Store is also a stupid concept. 20000 points to unlock Collina? Are you joking with us?

- Bring back international selection.

- Basically make the game like Fifa RTWC'98 but with improved gameplay. That would be superb.

- Make tournaments worth winning. Also make it possible for us to design our own tournaments - suppose I want to design something akin to the UEFA Cup?

- Heat should be a bigger factor. Seering heat saps the player's strength, makes them slower etc. Teams such as Mexico and Brazil should have an advantage over Norway or Sweden in this respect.

- Bring back animations for substitutions. Or even just captions.

- Goalkeepers should be just as fallible as other players. They do get booked. Make it possible to make illegal pack-passes and give indirect free-kicks accordingly. Also give red cards for handling outside the area. Keepers can get injured as well.

- Gameplay. It's too easy to score. Yesterday I was playing Arsenal on World Class and found myself 8-2 up at half time. Sorry for blowing my own trumpet, but a lot of the goals were square balls across the box to an unmarked player to tap into an open goal. Defenders generally learn after 1 or 2, not SIX OR SEVEN!!!

- Snow needs to come back.

- Stadia and crowd sizes need to be accurate. Torquay vs Chesterfield at the Bay Arena would NOT attract a full house!!!

With regard to leagues and teams they should DO THIS...

Currently there are 433 club teams (25 leagues, partial Brazilian) in the X-box version of the game anyway. In order to get a more diverse offering based on the requests here you would have to drop some leagues to open up spots.

The following is based on dropping the K-League, Belgian, Swedish, Norwegian, Austrian, Danish, Swiss and Mexican leagues (but keeping the top teams from these leagues, see below).

Adding the full Brazilian and Argentinian (long requested and long overdue) along with a BROAD cross section of clubs from the major regions Europe, Central/South America, Africa and Asia/Oceania.

This represents the bulk of Champions from their respective leagues... along with runnerups/top finishers. More than enough teams to play the full Champions League and a substantial UEFA Cup... not to mention Copa Libertadores, Asian Champs League, Africa etc... think of the possibilities for a World Club Cup!

This is assuming the National teams would stay the same with the exception of ADDING HOLLAND.

This should make MOST people here happy but there's always exceptions. EA wouldn't be smart enough to do this anyway! And if they were there's always issues securing ALL the teams licenses, badges, kits etc. but it's worth suggesting...

One idea came to my mind...
I think that Dutch, brazilian, argentinian leagues are schools for young players that tomorrow gonna be Cracks, so i think that young players (17 - 25 years old) should gain more skill in less time when they r in this leagues (15% more than others leagues), and PLEZZZ!! make possible to loan players :jambo:

Ironically me since it´s those European leagues that I play with the most and I don´t use Korea, Brazil or the MLS all that much. Anyway, here´s my list.

1. Classic teams. The best one off feature I have seen in the series so far. Bring it back, please!

2. Faster simulation. So I can just click on the date and go through a season that way.

3. The ability to choose which team you want to see your players to. If I have a second favorite team and they are in the relegation zone, maybe I feel like selling one of my good players to them.

4. More tournaments. Champions League, Uefa Cup, Copa Libertadores. Also bring back World Cup Qualification. I loved that.

5. Also if a lower division side is promoted, there should be more money for them. It seems to me that there is too little money.

6. Control of the Keeper more.

7. More leagues. More second divisions especially

8. The ability to see the goal scorer´s table. Same thing with cards as well.I want to see complete stats without having to go through each team.

9. More variety in the commentary.

10. Larger leagues in the Tournament mode. I would like a 32 team league. Play each team twice. Yeah. I loved it in 2003 when you could play 15 teams 4 times.

this could be bad but it would make it more realistic: keepers sometimes bobble crosses and shots. they trap it against their chest and it pops out or its just out of their reach. that would be a good addition to 06

If only they can have faces for every player in the main leagues like the EPL

How about all the players from the main clubs eg Phillip Bardsley, Nemanja Vidic, Emmanuel Eboue, Mark Howard, Lupoli, Mikel Obi etc.
