I’m sure everyone has their favorites documentaries, and I’m guessing
that most of them would be well-known ones such as “Fahrenheit 911”
or “Schindler’s List”. About a month ago though, I caught a film at the
Hamptons Film Festival that really moved me and was hoping to make it a
point of discussion here. It’s called “The First Amendment Project”.
Has anyone heard or seen this movie before?

In short, it exposes a case in which the Fox News Channel tried to stop
the publication of a book that exposed the wrongdoings of major news
organizations. Fox lost the case. Now, it might seen pretty simple, but
to think about how many people these news channels influence daily, and
then to see how they are trying to limit what people know and hear
about them, is pretty frightening.

I’m not an actress, director or anything associated with the film, but
I am an advocate of exposing the truth, and this film does just that.
In case you are interested, you can google.com the film to learn more,
or if you want to see if for yourself, I know that Court TV bought the
rights to air it next Tuesday (12/7) at 10pm.

I don't want to be the bitch here, but 'Schindler’s List' isn't a documentary.

I wouldnt call Schindlers List a docufilm either.

2004 really has been the year of the docufilm though, with Farenheit 9/11 sparking it all off, followed up by Super Size Me and The Corporation, as well as lesser known ones like Uncovered and Michael Moore Hate's America.

Next week there's a French docufilm about the wine industry coming out called Mondovino, it looks really good and I cant wait to see it.

and there's been lots of documentaries about rock bands like Metallica's Some Kind of Monster which is awesome, and The Ramores' End of the Century which wasnt that good but very informative.
Im a watching a documentary about a White Stripes' concert which should be good.

Farenheit 9/11 suck my c0ck.

All who like this film are gay, it was not that good, was extremely bias and pathetic... and you know what makes it funny, BUSH GOT VOTED BACK IN.

A doco. is meant to INFORM us of something, this really did not inform us of the ongoings in the BUSH government... he was voted back in..

Farenheit 9/11 is crap.

who ever said documentaries tell the truth???...just look at many things that have happened through out history, example: the Great Depression during the early and late 1930's was filled with bias pictures, most of them showed poor families and people with frail looking bodies, but in reality they would cut out parts of the picture that might persuade the gov. to think they werent doing 'that' bad. photographers would cut out cars, food supplies, ect......i took a class my freshmen year at SDSU that talked about authors being "untruthfull" to get THEIR point across...meaning authors, directors like Michael Moore will do ANYTHING to get some attention from anybody who's dumb enought to pay attention.
btw...george bush "stole" this second election:kader: .....four more years of HELL (actually i keep paying more for my education, which just pisses me off)....to me this is hell(N)

if a documentry is not real it is called a mocumentry. These things have different names, docos. are meant to inform people, mocos are meant for fun.

Farenheit 9/11 is crap. LMAO I love the way that whenever some ever mentions Farenheit 9/11 you have a massive period :p

I thought it was a really good film, of course it was biased and full of lies and exaggeration, but if you went to see it thinking it would be a fair and balanced film, you're a moron. It was funny, flashy and very good to watch, but the reason it is so great is because, as I said, it pretty much revolutionised a great genre. Before it, who went to see docufilms at the cinema, I never did, and after it, I have since gone to see three more. It has launched politics and current affairs to the for-front of cinema, and has made these films far more accessible, so for that reason it is one of the years best films.

It was not good to watch... it was a bore mate, seriously, if you think this was FUN or even GOOD to watch you need to get out more, because I have had a lot more fun times in my life than sitting there watching F 9/11.

And I hate critics who give this 4 and 5 stars. Half of them probably have no clue what it is about, especially those outside of America.

Lets put it this way, I don't finid it interesting at all. If you like it good for you, just don't rave about how good it is, because it is not.

I would like to see bowling for Columbine... to me that looks interesting and I would probably enjoy it, but F 9/11... not my BAG...

One thing I did like about it was the emotional change in the doco. At the begining he bagged Bush and it was quite funny, he actually makes him look rediculious, but then, the second half is just war war war, and it is quite sad.... but still, come on.... it was crap. I know all there is to know about war. I know the horrors of all this stuff, I have studied it in school... this film just reinforces what we already know about war. And lets not forget the claims about those involved in 9/11.... Some mighty research there but mate... it seriously doesn't interest me.

LOL I personally did find it very enjoyably to watch, I suppose it really boils down to whether you are interested in that sort of thing. I got lucky also that when I went to see it, I wasnt in the mood for a proper film, but I can imagine people getting bored, not by the content but by the fact its a documentary in a cinema. But, as I said, why I think it is so good is because is revolutionised the genre.
