View Full Version : Important - Option File Update

TristanAbbott7

I'm currently going through every single player in the option file to change the commentary name if there's one available just to get it closer to perfection.

There wasn't a lot of feedback regarding squad formations and starting line-ups from the last file so what I need are amendments/updates before I release this new one.

Please, please, please give any amendments in the following formats otherwise I can't implement them because I'm not going to guess who plays where. Don't just redirect me to a website that lists the squad for your team - that's just freaking lazy, if you want your team correct, just show me how it should be. Choose the correct formation in the in-game editor under the team - 'set formation' screen and list the players in order as they appear on screen when they are in their correct starting positions for the correct formation.

Example:

ARSENAL
4-4-2
Lehmann
Toure
Campbell
Lauren
Ashley Cole
Vieira
Gilberto Silva
Ljungberg
Pires
Henry
Reyes

Please note, that if the game does not contain any players that are in the squad in real life, choose the best replacement player from the existing squad.

Also please list any outstanding transfers, retirements and releases in the following format.

Team - Player - Team/Retired/Released

For amendments to national teams please list in this format:

Team - Player to be replaced - Player & Club they are at to replace this player.

For those who want the perfect option file, please respond to this and help out. It takes hours and hours to do a lot of this editing and it doesn't help when people just post saying, "your formation and squad for the Albacete team are crap!" With proper feedback in the formats above I will implement every change.

Final note: Please don't make unreal changes just based upon your personal preferences. I want REAL LIFE squads and formations that are most commonly used if everybody is fit.

thanks again Wolf for your continual dedication!

I'll see if anything else need amendments.. first off though, Fulham!

All squad lineups are fine. McKinlay's playing regularly but in the reserve side, so I guess, maybe, Buari could be on the bench in place of him. And yeah, Djetou's left the club.

And maybe the formation could be changed to

Oh also... the England squad doesn't seem to be as updated.. e.g. Southgate and Mills don't get into the side nowadays?

Another thing.. Wolf, are you planning to systemise all the names, so e.g. the 2 players called Green in Norwich and Fulham will be named R. Green and A. Green respectively, and Ferdinand in Bolton named L. Ferdinand (to distinguish him from R. Ferdinand?)

Who should I replace Southgate and Mills with?

Also, which Green is which?

Thanks for the feedback.

England:

OUT: Southgate, Mills, J.Cole, Scholes, Dyer, Vassell, Heskey

IN: Kirkland, R.Ferdinand, Jenas, Wright-Phillips, Defoe, A.Smith

Based on: http://www.thefa.com/England/SeniorTeam/Players/

Campbell and Gerrard are missing from that teamlist through injury, they are best left on the game :)

And R.Green is at norwich, A.Green fulham.

Wolf is it possible to implant sound files, there are a lot of players that don't have commentary name therefore they are called by their number but it'd be nice if we could find a name for them

Also, I'll try to post Iran's squad and their formation

Ronaldo isn't the captain for Real IRL, it's Zidane as far as I remember!

And if you really want a realistic file, then Jon Dahl T. from Milan got brown hair ;)

It is but unfotunately there are no "spare" slots so to insert a call name for somebody you'd have to replace another used callname.

SPORTING:

not my squad but my country.. if no fan says anything were it goes..

The squad is always changing so it's a little hard i think.. although like this may be the correct formation with the recently most used players

I admire your work Wolf. It takes a lot of dedication. I just have a few things I'd like to see changed.

First, use the club player for unlicensed National teams. Just correcting the names won't do, becasue (1) The faces are still fake. (2) there's 2 of the same player in Master League.

Another thing i would like you to do is to, in general, leave the formations as they are. This is because the Default formations have all the correct arrows for players and realistic positions of indivdual players. I'm not saying that you cannot change a formation, i just suggest using the edit position button instead of using the flat/ already "set formations".

For ex/ Barca's default formation was perfect, there was no need to change it.

For B. Dortmund, The midfield should be more of a diamond. Rosicky should be slightly ahead of the DM. Dede should be a LM, not a Cm. Same goes with the RM who's designated as a CM. Koller should be a little outside the 6-yeard box (slighlty to the left). Ewethon should be on the right edge of the 18 yard box.

http://soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&postid=1577990#post1577990

For Czech Republic. Formation is good. Nedved should have arrow inside/forward ( \ ). His position shoud be 3 'ticks' (dpad presses) more inside. Rosicky should be 3 ticks back and 3 ticks right. Galasek 3 ticks to the left. Remove the inside/forward arrow for Poborsky. (i know this is pretty anal, but you wanted us to be specific :p )

Thanks and good luck

i need to say thanks for all the amasing work you´ve been doing since last year.
I think the first point is very important, because duplicate players is really bad, just imagine playying against your own team stars...
As i´m FC Porto fan here it is the most usual formation:

-----------------------------------V.Baia
Seitaridis---------J.Costa-------------------P.Emanuel----------R.Costa

----------------------------------Costinha
------------------------------------------------Maniche
---------------------------Diego

R.Quaresma
------------------------------------------------Derlei
---------------------------------McCarthy

I didn´t look The portuguese national squad, but Figo and Rui Costa retired from international games, so the team should be:

----------------------------------Ricardo(sportingCP)
---------------------R.Carvalho(chelsea)---J.Andrade(corunha)
P.Ferreira(chelsea)---------------------------------Rui Jorge(sportingCP)

----------------------Costinha(porto)---Maniche(porto)

------------------------------------Deco(barcelona)
C.Ronaldo(M.United)--------------------------------------Simão(benfica)

---------------------------------Pauleta (PSG)

Subs:
GR:Quim and Moreira (both benfica)
DF:Miguel(benfica), J.Ribeiro(is not in the game), Beto(sporting), F.Couto(lazio)
MF:Petit(benfica), Tiago(chelsea), Boa Morte(fulham), R.Quaresma(porto)
FW:Nuno Gomes(benfica), H.Postiga(porto), Hugo Almeida(porto)
Aditional players:Hugo Viana(sporting), Pedro Mendes(totenham)

Ok, amendments made up to here.

Master Kush, could you possibly provide pics like the others for the team formation amendments so I can see what you mean. Without knowing the team inside out it's a little difficult to know what you mean.

Keep them coming guys. I'll include everything I can. I've finshed allocating the correct call names for the players.

Sorry Wolf I wasn't entirely sure what the "standard" Eng lineup should be, that's why I didn't say who should replace whom. And thanks Gobby for answering Wolf's questions

I might not be 100% right on these, so guys please shout if I've got it wrong. When I say "full name", I mean the name should have the first name or initial before it in order to distinguish it the player's namesake

Arsenal:
full name: S. Campbell
S. Taylor (GK) is on loan somewhere
Cesc, I think, prefers himself to be called Fabregas now

Birmingham:
full names:Maik Taylor, Damien Johnson

Blackburn:
full name: M. Gray

Bolton:
full names: R. Gardner, L. Ferdinand

Chelsea:
name spelling: Gudjohnsen (Konami missed out the h)

Everton:
full names: K. Campbell, D. Ferguson

Fulham:
full name: S. Doherty
Also... (being very picky here)
Bouba Diop is the name on his shirt, instead of Diop
Andy Cole's shirt should only say "A. Cole" or "Cole", not "Andy Cole"

Man Utd:
I guess players like A. Smith, Saha and Miller should be moved up on the bench? But who should replace them at the bottom of the squad list.. I'm not sure

Middlesborough:
I might be wrong here.. think Zenden has now moved into a more central position now, because Downing's on the left wing.
Viduka should be a CF in a 4.4.2, not OMF

Newcastle:
full name: R. Johnsen

Norwich:
full name: G. Doherty

Portsmouth:
full name: Matthew Taylor
LuaLua's name.. second L should be a capital
captain: De Zeeuw

Southampton:
name: M. Svensson, A. Davies

Tottenham:
full name: S. Davies, A. Gardner, P. Robinson
captain: Redknapp

WBA:
name: P. Robinson (we're stuck with 2 Paul Robinsons...)
captain: Kanu

that's all from me.. I don't think I know things well enough to suggest any starting lineups etc

Wolf - Keep up the good work mate, much appreciated!

Ok fore Iran National Team:

Remove the following: Kavianpour, Pashadzadeh, and Madanchi

If u want I can name some injured players too that aren't playing currently but they might come back soon, so forget about that. The players I named for removing won't play for the national team.

The formation pics:

Mourihno loves to tinker with Chelsea's formation and the first 11 has been volatile given the depth of the team and injuries this season, but I think they are in best form in a 4-2-3-1.

Cech
Carvalho
Ferreira
Terry
Gallas
Makelele
Tiago
Duff
Lampard
Robben
Drogba

EDIT: The main reason I felt compelled to post is that the current option file leaves Duff out of the first 11. Regardless of the formation or strikers he needs to be on the pitch. He, Robben, and Lampard are the core of the middle-front.
