View Full Version : Ocean's Twelve
Hakeem 07-12-2004, 11:23:AM just got back from it and Im not so sure how I feel about it.
I loved Ocean's Eleven, one of the coolest movies Ive ever seen. it was awesome and great fun.
this one was really different, mostly cause it was set in Europe, and though I normally love movies set in Europe, I felt they didnt use the european cities as well as they should.
the chemistry between the cast was excellent, and Vincent Cassell (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Irreversible, Monica Belluci's husband) was great being the addition to the cast as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones who had excellent chemistr too with Brad Pitt.
very different movie than the first one but still enjoyable though I felt it was kind of slow at parts. definetly not better than the first one IMO
ronnifan9 07-12-2004, 11:26:AM I cant wait to see it....as you mentioned, chemistry between the cast seems great.(H)
manutd4eva 07-12-2004, 11:36:AM Downloading......
PhiLLer 08-12-2004, 05:12:AM They were in Amsterdam to film some stuff, very tight security of course. I wonder which scenes are in Amsterdam..
Sir Calumn 08-12-2004, 05:14:AM I havent seen Oceans 11, but I will do soon so I can watch Oceans 12 in an enlightened state. I've heard mixed things about it, but apparantly it features more of Elliot Gould which is a good thing.
Hakeem 08-12-2004, 10:29:AM I wrote a more positive review in my blog after thinking about it some more time though I still think the first one is better :)
Callan 08-12-2004, 01:13:PM Oceans 11 wasn't even that good, I don't know what the big fuss is about.

C'mon. Ocean's 11 was awesome. Action packed, fast paced, interesting. I loved it!
Virgo 08-12-2004, 08:26:PM I didn't find Ocean's 11 that great either. It's a fine heist movie and that's all.
Sir Calumn 08-12-2004, 11:24:PM Has anyone here seen the original Oceans 11 with Frank Sinatra and co? I heard it's much better than the remake.
i saw something in the Express the other day saying Oceans 11 was the 9th worst remake ever, it was sooo much better than the original! lol
TROD.
Callan 09-12-2004, 08:03:AM I heard the original wasn't that great either...
The new one is a good robbery film... but I didn't think it was that great...
the cast was good but. (H)

defenetely..
I dont even plan on watching O12
Ithink Im gonna wait till TBS or something presents it....:p
Sir Calumn 10-12-2004, 12:11:AM I guess I'd better get it now, just to see who I agree with :p
While on the subject of this genre, there's another really good looking film coming out on January the 14th (UK) called Criminal. It looks very interesting, one to watch out for I think.
Hakeem 10-12-2004, 12:12:PM thats the remake of the Argentinean film from 2002 called Nine Queens.
Criminal sucks though while Nine Queens is a masterpiece (Y)(Y)(Y)
PhiLLer 10-12-2004, 07:11:PM From seeing the trailer of Criminal it looks dull. I might check out the original though.
Sir Calumn 10-12-2004, 11:32:PM Oh right, it looks quite good to me and Empire are rating it quite high so I will prob go see it still.
Hakeem 10-12-2004, 11:52:PM if you havent seen Nine Queens the I guess you can enjoy Criminal (:/)
lil_kewell 11-12-2004, 04:57:PM Im seing this movie tomorrow, im just going along for the ride , i dont expect it to be a fantastic movie , i just wanna see some sh!t blow up and stuff like that lol
kickin_kyle 12-12-2004, 01:01:PM i just got back from the theatre and thought it was great. movies like these make me want to be a criminal lol
pasion1 16-12-2004, 01:48:AM i agree.
im actually glad that they did something different rather than remake the first (ie: having them plan another heist and pull it off)
the twists were good and the comedy was great for the most part (loved the french villain)
good film....though part 1 was better. But still very good.
Virgo 16-12-2004, 03:33:AM it's rated 60% in rotten tomatoes. Guess it won't hurt to see it.
Sir Calumn 16-12-2004, 03:40:AM Passion's analysis is about what I'm expecting.
BTW, does anyone know is Blade: Trinity is any good? I liked Blade 2, but this new one looks like it's pretty sh!te.
Hakeem 16-12-2004, 10:40:AM if you liked Blade 2 then you'll probably like it. I liked Blade 1 a lot, and I hated Blade 2 for the most part though it had some cool stuff in it.
part 3 is pretty bad except for Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder) and his comedy cause all teh rest including hotter than hell Jessica Biel is wasted (even her shower scene sucks) :nape:
PhiLLer 16-12-2004, 04:51:PM Nearly all the reviews I've read say Blade 3 is a real disapointment compared to 1 or 2. I still might check it out thought.
Sir Calumn 17-12-2004, 01:15:AM Yeah same here - but I'm kinda interested to see what happens. I prefered Blade 2 to Blade 1, personally.
Callan 17-12-2004, 03:07:PM Just saw this film and didn't think much of it at all. :kader:
Very dissapointing, although I was not expecting much anyway so I guess it wasn't that bad... but yeah. Nothing like the first one, and that doesn't even say much.
Sir Calumn 18-12-2004, 03:12:AM I saw Blade Trinity today, wanted to see Garden State but it wasnt on at a good time. It wasnt bad, just the same as one and two really, a good fun action film with plenty of gore and humour which, surprisingly, is quite funny, even though many aspects of the plot are rediculous and the acting is not exactly world class. Worth seeing if you like that sort of thing.
$teauA 18-12-2004, 04:37:AM I saw Ocean's 12 the day it came out and I thought it was great. The comedy, the twists, the cast, the plot, the ending, the writing were all excellent. I still give a small edge to Ocean's 11 though because that one was just too good.
donovan929 19-12-2004, 12:04:PM i saw O12 and it was good.. the sweetest part by far was how Toulour(Night fox) got through all the blue lasers.. that was ****in sweet :)
Hakeem 19-12-2004, 12:45:PM yeah, that part was cool, but wrong.
they had tlked before about the lasers being total random, so even by doing what he did he shouldnt have been able to pass them (N)
$teauA 20-12-2004, 01:59:PM Yeah I was thinking that exact same thing while he was doing it but it was really cool so.....
Callan 20-12-2004, 04:05:PM It was gay.
Deutschland 26-12-2004, 10:33:PM I just watched this.. and.. either.. I am increidbly stupid, or I blinked, lost track of time and skipped 30 minutes of the film without realising, there is no cohesion between the middle and end of the movie.
What the hell? Why were Lamark and George Clooney working together? :crazyboy:
rony31 28-12-2004, 06:47:AM watched this today... not as good as O11 (:/)
it wasn't bad, but then they tried to make it too clever and started throwing in a bunch of twists all at once, and the whole movie just collapsed
$teauA 28-12-2004, 10:17:AM Too much for your Iraqi brain rony (H) (H) (H)
Deutschland 28-12-2004, 01:02:PM SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY LAMARC AND OCEANS 11 WERE WORKING TOGETHER :( :crazyboy:
Hakeem 28-12-2004, 08:56:PM so they wouldnt have to actually steal the thing, just pretend they were trying to.
Deutschland 28-12-2004, 09:52:PM Yes.. but why did Lamarc want to work with THEM?
Hakeem 29-12-2004, 01:18:AM I guess cause Brad Pitt could conect him with his daughter (Catherine Zeta-Jones)

exactly hak...
MY THOUGHTS:
anybody know what song is that with the italian lady singing in the beginning and the end of the movie?
did anybody see the gorgeous girl who was Nagel's assistant?...her name is Martina Stella:hump: ...just thought i'd imention this to anyone who was wondering who she was since she only had one line in the movie
Linu's mom getting them out of jail was a bad twisty NOT believable, but its a movie ...so eehh:rolleyes:
good overall, but NightFox's moves throught the lasers was some of the stupident sh!t i've seen:kader:
Julia Roberts is such a legend...playing herself was classic(H)
so overall i'd give it an 8/10....liked the ending with Zeta-Jones joining the gang and finding out who was her father....
x4dixont 04-01-2005, 02:46:AM thanks for spoiling the movie u fags:f***: at leat say if theres a spoiler in the thread...

manutd4eva 05-01-2005, 11:24:PM Loved it.(H)
Oceans' 11 was still better, though.:mrpimp:
bjmenge 10-01-2005, 10:48:AM God damn, Catherine Zeta-Jones looked so good in this movie. Arsenal was in it too. (H)
Parra Power 10-01-2005, 06:48:PM didnt see this thread before... i've seen the movie twice (first time i slept through it... it was the day after a party and i had pretty much zero sleep :))..... and i gave it a 'meh' rating.... in that there was nothing bad about it.... it's just that, particularly in comparison to oceans 11, it wasnt all that great.... i could stand it, and to some extent i enjoyed it, but it isn't high on my to-get-on-dvd list
i agree that Catherine Zeta-Jones looked good in it :)
Ebonix 14-02-2005, 04:49:AM Went to watch this last night, to be honest, I was kind of expecting it to be a really bad film as you do get with some films which should never have a sequel.
Anyway, got into the film and about 20 minutes in, I was really not liking it at all, I thought it was crap and shaping up to be everything I had hoped it wouldn't be.
After that though, it was all uphill. The film is really good, I was a big fan of Oceans Eleven and I'm tempted to say Oceans Twelve is better than Eleven. So overall I thinks its a great film and I'd reccomend it to anyone who liked Oceans Eleven
i liked Ocean Eleven and i am planning to see Ocean Twelve.
Sir Calumn 14-02-2005, 05:47:AM Already a thread for this film here: http://soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115258
Please continue this discussion there :)
Hakeem 14-02-2005, 10:26:AM merged :)
Ebonix 15-02-2005, 06:41:AM ah, sorry guys. didn't see the original thread :$
