well EA will release the second official patch for the game
"This is indeed the news you've all been waiting for. A second patch is coming for Total Club Manager 2005 based on the excellent feedback you in the community have been posting here. The patch will primarily fix crash issues such as the "Control not set" bug and gameplay issues such as squads getting too big. Significant improvements to Football Fusion will also be included.

We do not currently have a precise date for the release however we are targeting the release for before Christmas.

Thanks again for the continued feedback you've all provided, we always appreciate it and are glad that we can now respond in the best possible way by creating this patch."

theres no news about that until now, its really uncertain what is going to be in the patch, like i posted before the patch will be released after christmas, so the news about it will be out in a few days i guess.

hope the 2nd patch can correct the free transfer problem.
i can see exodus after exodus every season.

is there really such a clause for player to leave like that on the real stage?
i learned the players leaving without sale are those who probably didnt get to play any games.

another update from the official forums
"The patch is currently in QA being tested. Given that some of the fixed bugs require you to play through a lot of seasons we anticipate it taking a couple of weeks yet to get approved and in your hands. So it's still looking like a January release, but most likely somewhere around the end of the month right now.

We know you want to get your hands on the patch ASAP, but at the same time we also want to get this patch right. More updates as I get them."

Last Update:
"Quick update on patch 1.2 lads. This is not a complete list of included fixes - in particular we'll be announcing Fusion details at a later date. Despite this it should give you a good idea of what the patch is due to offer.

- The line-up crash has been fixed.
- The crashes at the end of the week have been fixed.
- Games will now save without any problems.
- Squad size will stay at sensible levels now with the team sizes being reduced over time.
- Substituted players keep their ratings and don’t receive the worst possible rating.
- Players now play in their intended positions.
- Players will only accept a reasonable amount of offers in Create a Club.
- The Executive Boxes are fully displayed in the stadiums.
- Training objectives continue to work after one or more skill reaches a level of 99.
- The base values for goalkeeping, defending etc. are now displayed on the Player Information screen. This is true for the youth players too.
- Career mode offers are now working (not only offers from one country after the first round), it is no longer possible that two players receive offers from the same club
- Multiplayer games no longer crash during the half-time of a 3D match.
- Newly signed players will be able to play in the European Cup accordant to the competition rules.
- If a player picture is detected it is pre-selected on the Player Information screen
- If the user selects man marking this selection will be kept for the duration of the game.
- The reserve team formation is kept if selected on the Assistant’s screen.
- The ticket prices are no longer reset to the default values after a season
- The match calendar in Italy won’t create clashing match dates any more.
- The suitable mentors are now displayed in the correct colour.

As ever, we'll pass on any further information as we receive it."

latest update so far:
"To clarify, Fusion has been noted as one of the highest priority issues with TCM05 at the present time and it was specifically requested for the patch. We do not yet have news about whether or how much it has been improved but we have been told that we will be told something about Fusion and the patch.

It's a bit of a non-answer, I know, but at present the patch is going through a series of tests and revisions - we don't want anything else to break because of the game fixes being worked on after all.

While we're optimistic the patch will be complete and with us soon we do not have any hard and fast dates, so rather than saying it'll be next week or the week after or whenever the safest bet is that it'll be "soon". As soon as we know anything more solid than that we'll let you know, but we don't want to give you expectations or when it'll arrive if we're not 100% certain of when that will be."

the latest from them:

Predicting how long a patch will take to complete is very tricky indeed because they are so complicated to make and test. We'd like to give you a definite timeline but we can't predict how long it will take any more than you can, and as you've already seen even the developers have a tough time working out how long it will take. They told us in all honesty that it'd be before the end of December, when clearly it wasn't.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll be in patch city real soon, but until then we'll keep you informed how things are proceeding.

looks like they'll take years for the patch to come out :(

more news from the forums

Unfortunately "soon" is the best I can offer at the moment, I know it's frustrating but I wouldn't want to raise your hopes artificially of a release date knowing full well it could be longer if the patch does not pass testing.

We're still very optimistic that we'll see it very soon (probably not today), but we should be able to reveal the full fix list either today or tomorrow.

We've been throwing rockets their direction for a while now. Unfortunately testing takes a fixed amount of time so, whether the patch is flawless or not we've still got a bit more of a wait.

Good to hear. Keep us posted. I've held off from playing the game until the next patch is released.

Rochester Rhino

The work on the patch development itself is done, it's simply going through testing now.

The number of developers assigned I don't actually know, but the test department in the UK comprises around 50 people.

As for information regarding the full list of fixes, chances are that the person we usually speak to, who is a senior producer on the game, isn't actually available at the moment so it could well be that the patch arrives before we give you a preview of what it fixes.

We got some information on the Fusion fix yesterday from Gerald, the game's lead designer, but as I said before we don't want to give out the details of how Fusion is changed until we're certain we've got our facts straight.

Bare with us, the patch really is close to launch now. It's been in testing, revising and retesting for the past week and a bit now so we're confident your wait will not be much longer at all.

actually there is fusion fixes

UPDATE

Football Fusion In Patch 1.02
The Football Fusion element of Total Club Manager 2005 has been addressed by the development team in the 1.02 patch. The fix allows players to use Fusion in much the same way as in TCM 2004 - you click Fusion, and play the game without having to leave TCM.

However, due to the complexity of this fix and the length of time required to test it extensively it has been set up to not work automatically in your game.

Since the fix is untested we cannot offer any support for issues which occur as a result of using it. In fact it should be treated as an unofficial upgrade to the game, that being that you use it at your own risk.

If you do not use Fusion, or wish to continue using it as it was built into the original game this unofficial fix will have no impact on your game.

In order to play Fusion using this unofficial fix method you should hold down your SHIFT key while selecting Fusion from match modes.

But if I knew with one's i would standing alot further.
