Joe_EB 21-08-2000, 05:38:AM Bergyfan, first off Phillipe, is not North American. Also you should reconsider your perspective of Americans and soccer. Their are a lot of us over here who know a lot about soccer, South American or European. As for myself, I'm 15 years old, and I am well aware of the English League and German Bundesliga happenings, transfers, etc.And why would he be considered dumb for not following a League that isn't even in his country? You'd be dumb(Assuming you live in England) if you didn't follow it or know it. So think twice before you say something you don't know anything about.

Down Under 21-08-2000, 10:38:AM Aztec, Mexico
Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne Australia (95,000)
St James' Park, Newcastle
Maracana, Brazil
Wembley, England
These are not in order, just my fav five
TeKNoS 21-08-2000, 12:47:PM These are my picks:
1-> Estadio Azteca - Mexico (Great Architecture, Capacity, Fluidity)
2-> Stade De France - France (Great Architecture)
3-> Wembley Stadium - England (I liked the first one, in 97, before the reconstructions, it was very impressive)
4-> Maracana Stadium - Brasil
5-> Bernabeu - Espanya
6-> Nou Camp - Espanya
7-> Foxboro - U.S.A. (They have a HUGE Sony TV !!!)
8-> Old Trafford - England
9-> The Colisseum - Italy (Trust me, if they let two teams play at least one game, Italy vs Rest of the World, it would be a KICKASS game !!!)
Here's some info on the Azteca Stadium:
Seen from the outside, the stadium shows a magnificent beauty, going inside arouses incomparable emotions. On the lower tier there are 72 access tunnels with an average of four meters wide, eight tunnes for the lower stalls, each three meters wide. To reach the upper seats there are five double ramps of 16 meters each and two singles of eight meters, that take you directly to the first upper level, this is numbered seats, it has 34 doors. This ramps bifurcate to make 12 interior ramps with intermediate landings that take you to the last localities -general- it also has 34 access doors. Supposing that the stadium is full. 114,464 spectators see the end of the game and start leaving it. Eighteen minutes after, the stadium is completely empty. A great accomplishment of evacuation, only the stadium of Rome has more fluidity, on eleven minutes they can evacuate it completely.

Ruben Sosa 21-08-2000, 01:55:PM Philly_SG:
... I'm Uruguayan, not european. It just seemed unfair to judge someone dumb because they aren't interested in that league or National Team, or simply don't know, half the people I've met in Australia belived Uruguay was in Spain.
Bergyfan:
You seem to like to judge people thru what they know of Futbol/Soccer. Tell me do you know which is the national stadium of Paraguay? Or Venezuela?
Fotbalguy 21-08-2000, 07:34:PM 1. Guessepe Meaza
2. Stade de France
3. Dortmund Stadium
4. Ghencea
5. Old Trafford
simonius_13 22-08-2000, 12:19:AM Wait til after the World Cup in two years, then everyone will be talking about Yokohama International! Home of the F Marinos and Japanese National Team!!!!!!!!!!!
PolishPower 22-08-2000, 06:38:AM From point of architecture I'd say San Siro ,or Azteca(Mexico), or Santiago Barnebau(R. Madrid stadium), here's my criteria: it has to be huge and it has to set up so you are close to the action, meaning multiple overhanging decks and no track around the pitch. That is why Wembley would not be on my list though historically it is probably the most famous stadium.
As far as good stadiums for atmosphere I'd pick La Bombonera in Argentina, especially when Maradona came back for Boca, and Westfalenstadion, Borussia Dormund stadium...
Philly_SG 22-08-2000, 10:54:AM I am sorry Ruben Sosa!!
I know Urugay is in South America but before i posted it I didnt knew from which country you was...
AC MILAN 22-08-2000, 08:08:PM There's another beautiful stadium in south america. Have hosted 2 copa libertadores finals and 1 copa america final.
The name: Estadio Monumental de Barcelona
Capacity: i00.000
Built : 1988
Home of : Barcelona Sporting Club, Ecuador.
Famous quotes: Pele "The most beautiful stadium (for it's design) in South America"
