I've heard some big clubs want a new European Superleague. The wages of the players have risen so hard that the big clubs need to organise those ugly money competions. I don't want a European Super League!! The domestic Leagues MUST stay. Therefor there should be a salary cap of $1.5 Mln(The players earn enough and they can get some extra money out of commercial activities). The smaller countries can also catch up then because the difference in TV money doesn't matter anymore.

In the AFL (Australian Rules Football League) there is a salary cap for every club that is equal. This keeps all the teams even which results in an even and unpredictable season every year. It also prevents that richer clubs like Essendon, Collingwood and Carlton from poaching all the quality players.
Imagine this in the Premier League. Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds would all have to release their highly paid stars in order to meet the salary cap, resulting in a much more open league for all the teams, and giving the promoted teams, who annually struggle, a chance to maintain a foothold in the top flite.

I think salary cap should be tied in to budget percentage, salaries should be around 50 percent of budget for a given club, thats how it works in USA.
