hey....like career mode ea shud add the player mode.....it's like u have to create ur own player and then he'll get signed on by some very low team......u can only play with ur created player and then u have to play really well so then u'll get offers from higher clubs...it shud have alll these stuff...
1.U can only control ur created player
2. U shud have some personal cash so u can buy apparel/boots/accecories
3.U have training courses and u have to complaete them and then u'll gradually improve ur skill
4. Once u start playing well and play for some top team some brand can sponsor u so u can get free boot...bla bla
5. with each boots there is some attribute
eg. addidas f50+=shot power inc. dec. speed(level)
nike mercury=speed increases and crosses decrease(level)
nike tot 90 III=Crossed increase......speed decreases(level)
i know for this they'll have to make the ai really well cz when u r free and u don't ask for the ball the ppl. shud pass to u
they shud also have if u shout or call for someone to pass to u the defenders might notice u and mark u.......
also if the manager feels he can make u the team cap. which will allow u to acess the formation/team screen
the controls shud be somethin' like this:-
In Possesion:-
Normal controls like fifa 05
Not possetion:-
Normal fifa 05
Ur teammates hav possestion but not u :-
a-call for pass
directions-run/move
etc.
post suggestions to imrove this feature if u want to..................................
hope ea sees this

i dont think this would be a good idea
you know ..
you'll be one player
you dont know where to go to get the ball as the computer is controling the 10 other players
and getting 2 yellow cards during a game will send you off
so how would you continue the game .. and the next game
this will be boring

This idea has been brought up many times.
It is a good idea in essence IMO.
Although i think some of the points you make are debatable. (about the boots etc for example).
I would love to eventually play some sort of career mode football game where i was just in controll of one player throughout his entire career. Although i think as someone mentioned it may get a bit boring after a while.
Overall a good suggestion to be brought back up tho. :mrpimp:

Any idea serves as a platform for improvement. That is what they call Brainstorming! Even a simple idea can result in something big. Besides, EA needs all the help they can get. Now, whether they’ll listen is another story.
As to your idea, I think a camera angle that stays behind the player (like in Madden) could help you keep an eye on the ball (if you are a defender). If you are a mid fielder then the camera should be Telecast style (like used currently). If you are a forward, then the camera could face towards the action. The camera should be able to shift in order to accommodate your position. You should also be able to choose a camera angle (pressing a button etc).
How about this though, give the player a behind the shoulder look (like the new Ghost Recon camera). A First Person view would be nice but you should probably be able to see the ball, so this might not work.
In any case, has any of you played 1st person view football (ESPN 2k5 has it)? It is awesome!!! I bet something could ultimately be worked out for soccer. Imagine a one on one with the goalie in a 1st person view… sweet.
