PES4 is lots of fun. I enjoy it immensly. Glad to see that reflected in the critics' scores as well; but whether or not they liked it, I still think it's great.

So let me get this straight. According to your post the 2 big dogs of game review sites. IGN and Gamespot. Only have user review high scores. oh wait, thats right i forgot that PES fans will do anything to prove their game is better. hell if i was immature like that i would get a bunch of people that liked fifa to submit reviews there and make it higher than PES, then again that would prove nothing except that im a dork, FIFA fans do not stoop as low as PES fans and it shows all over this website example... the name calling :rolleyes:

Games reviewers are also human. They will have preference of one over the other.

The feeling I have from reading the posts from PES fans is they are trying very hard to elevate PES to a "cult" status. I believe most people switch to PES because it scores well in review and also due to "peer" pressure. They wanted to be seen as someone who know a better game.

I prefer Fifa to PES for one simple reason. It's simplicity. I need not remember button combinations to pull off moves or whatever. The player run button with the first touch control are very nice additions of the series.

Most ppl will argue that FIFA is scripted. What about PES? What's with the complains about Goalkeeper standing still and CPU AI cheating in the PES forum. Isn't that scripted too? All video games are scripted anyway. Another argument is that you can never score the same goal. That is not true as the goals I scored in PES 3 seems to be similar. It is the way you play that make the difference.

Time to go now but will expect the PES empire to fight back. Anyway I don;t care.

don't tell me u could scoore every time the same gool in pes3, they head somany different shoots and volleys witch they seams to desappeare in pes4,

just tell me one thing, what is to like in fifa 2005, the of the ball, Free cick, the corner kicks, shoot on gool, shoot animation, the deffenders are to deffensive (u can never outrun the defens in fifa 2005 like roony did to makelele in euro 2004) etc... i am not gonna mention the face graphic they look so unatural, its like they had a face lift and something whent wrong, every single team have a tween brother they are so many ******* generick faces in the game u can't even edit them. the only thing i like about fifa 2005 its the license, nr of the clubs, and the firs touch, nothing more
u maybe think i am a pes fan but i am not, i just love football i play football in real life, and i watch football, and i like to play football games as close as possible to the real matches, and for me only pes4 can do that at the momment.

No. They don't have to try. It already is a cult game. fifa is the one that splashes out the big money for the flashy adverts for their game and if they didn't have the name, the money and the licences behind them there would be no contest over which game would come out on top.

To outrun a defender in FIFA 05.
1. the forward or midfielder must have high dribbling skill
2. the player must have a high speed
3. while sprinting with the defender beside you and pushing you, take the right analog stick and push it forward, resulting in pushing the ball a few feet ahead of your player
4. once you have pushed the ball, if the player is faster than the defender, then you will be able to run up to the ball that you pushed a couple of feet in front of you
5. look right there you beat the defence

u just don't want to admet the fact that in fifa 2005 the defends stay to deep. i advice u to go to fifa forum more often and see how many fifa fanboys people commlyning about this, whitch in uefa champions 04-05 forum i read the review of uefa champions 04-05n and it says they immproved (defends) in this area, whitch maybe its a good news for fifa 2006? don't tell me i don't know how to use the right analog stick to push the ball in front, its not what i wos talking about, i am saying to have more 1on1 sitoations, to pull the defends nerly half way of the feeld
sometimes henry style, if u watch football in tv u c this sitoations very often

i never notice it since my defence is set on pressing, hell i use my RWB and LWB to take the ball halfway up the opposite side to pass to my RWM or LWM who is in the position to make a cross, it is more of a formation thing

The defence plays too deep in FIFA 2005, that's a fact. And the midfield doesn't really support the strikers, resulting 98% of your goals are made by strikers. This is all fixed in UCL 2004-2005, but should have been in FIFA actually.

You can make the midfielders and defenders support the attack using the playerrun button. Not only when you are on the ball, but when you have just passed the ball right after that you press the playerrun button, you player will support the attack and run forward.

And THIS IS why I've switched to PES after playing Fifa for years.
You have to buy a 2nd game to fix the flaws of the first one.
It's not that I cannot afford to buy it it's just a question of principle. And EA's politics have always be one step forward and two backward. They are taking their customers for idiots with this "unfinished business " mentality .
They won't make an official fix for Fifa 2005. And what makes me angry is that they are doing it on purpose
PES is surely not 100% perfect but there is a link between PES3 & PES4 and they have fixed some problems since last year.
I have played fifa since 2002 and there are obvious things that have not been fixed since that time. Do you think it's normal ?

um fifa street will be nothing like fifa, according to what your saying nfl street and madden have a connection, the only connection is the EA name, fifa street will run on an entirely different game engine than fifa and UEFA do, people defend FIFA the same way you would defend PES, they are both good games, let me put it this way, they are both equal games, it is just a matter of your tastes in the style of play, yes this year fifa had some problems, it has these problems for the fact of all the stuff they added the past couple of years, game programmers are human remember, and im sorry i dont understand how PES is that great because i dont see much of any difference from PES2-PES4 except for fixes and more game extras, the only reason people switch is for something completely new, well in 4 years you may start playing the world tour soccers or something when PES still seems the same.

we asked to have ref on the pitch they did it, we we also wanted more team licenses, improved passing(short & long pass) les handballs les red cards etc... they did almost every thing we asked for. what konami is doing is that they know they got the gameplay, and they build on it every year. what fifa is doing is makeing money(and not listen what people wants) cos they know how to advartise the game, puting new fature every year (the-of-the-ball, first touch) got knows what fature is going to be this year??? fifa 98 the game wos good at that time, sins then the game started to get worst and worst every year. can't u c that all they do is bissenes with 3 games a year:kader:

I,ve already given my opinion on game reviews... They count for Nothing.
Heres an example: I was watching a review of UCL on Gamer.tv and some of the things from the reviewers mouth was utter b*****ks ...
But as soon as he said that its an " Exceptable game, if PES isn,t on the shelf of the store ", then i knew that the review was over.. There and then.
He also stated that the game was basically exactly the same as Fifa, but doesn,t seem to notice any of the OBVIOUS gameplay improvements.
The Funniest was when he reckoned it was too hard to score ... lol ( I suppose it makes a change from it usually being too easy to score )

I've always thought that. game reviews don't mean jack. If game reviews meant anything than I would love halo and halo 2. I think those games are utter crap and they have ratings of Halo 9.7 @ ign and Halo2 9.8 @ ign. It is like they were in a hole the past few years. They call those games innovative and new and im sorry but PC FPS were light years ahead 6 years ago, let alone in the multiplayer section. Hell even GTA San Andreas didnt deserve a 9.9 @ ign. Yes that game was great...............for about maybe one month. A game that only has the lasting appeal of one month, does not deserve an almost perfect rating. Maybe if the game appeal lasted almost a year like sports and racing games. Yes it does seem that PES fans have to remind themselves that their product is superior. This also does, yes, show their maturity. Then the majority of them will start calling names once they read a post like this one.

I wouldn't say they're immature, just frustrated and bemused at how so many people can like FIFA

I already own PES4 on PC, have an import of PES4 for PS2, and just got my copy a couple of days ago of WE8I NTSC USA so i no longer have to play PES4 @ 50Hz. I have 2 copies of FIFA also, FIFA 05 PS2 and FIFA 05 PC, heck I still have all of the FIFA's since 97 on SNES thru PS2, got all the PES/WE since PES 2. I like FIFA better.
