yeah, i know, although i always liked recoba more than vieri...if i was mancini i'd put adriano--recoba, and i'd rotate, using martins--vieri....dunno....

King Recoba combines best with Adriano out of all the forwards we have in our squad., but since Vieri is unjustifiably given all the chances in the world as a starter, he doesn't see much action. Also, I don't think he's gotten along well with Mancini, I mean, He's never really gotten along well with any of our managers (except maybe for Zach) so that isn't going to help him much either.

They want consistency in his form from him, yet he isn't given consistent play......makes absolutely no sense. He's got a fantastic goal scoring rate for someone who's spent most of his time in Italy whithering away on the bench.

Hail to his Godly passing ability
Hail to his Godly dribbling skill
Hail to his creativity and magic
Hail to his set-pieces Godliness
Hail to his cannon of a left foot

Recoba is a sad sad story whose claim to fame was something we've yet to see and probably we will never see.

Recoba came out of Nacional a superstar, with talent and promise of only the best in the world can offer. But unfortunately nothing ever came to reality. Although he's shown brilliance at times, he's never really kept the consistancy of a true world class player. And because of this, he's been left to rot at the Inter bench for many years now.

I think he's content being in the Inter bench, since he's never complained about getting a starting spot. I guess thats why he's never become a true superstar, because of his lack of effort. I think that if he really wanted more things in life, he could've ended somewhere else, like in Spain, with a mid to high level team and become the promise he was meant to be. Unfortunately, because of his size, lack of speed and his shoe-glued-to-the-ball style of play, the defensive Italian league can offer very little for him. I think going to Spain can do wonders for him... but only if he really wants to succeed.. and apparantly he doesn't. He's happy at being a second string player and thats where he will end up for the rest of his career most likely. :(

Why Recoba and Vieri anre incompatibles? Recoba isnt a forward, but a offensive midfielder.

He has to leave Inter. Even when he plays well, he'll lose his place the next game, thats just the way it is there. I hope he goes to Samp or Fiorentina, they could both use him.

Than again, Moratti loves this guy and seems reluctant to sell him, plus Recoba makes A LOT in salary, so few teams can afford him. I dont think he'll leave unless a big club wants him.

Recoba is so talented but so inconsistent. Even when he is given starting chances he rarely does well in him. This season he has only been effective, super effective if I might add, as a supersub. But in our last game against Brescia where he started ahead of Martins he straight up sucked.

As much as I like El Chino I simply see no future for him at Inter where he will actually improve in consistency.Oh and did I mention that he is injury prone?

Come the January break or in the summer I think we should finally sell him, Cruz, and Vieri and rework our offense. Adriano and Martins are the future, but they need some good talents around them. Such as Bojinov or Gilardino.

I think Recoba is a great talent. He is only INCONSISTENT because he isnt given CONSISTENT playing time

Well put, man. It hurts me a lot to think that he's nearing that stage in his career where players (attackers) start to depreciate in quality. Hopefully he'll stafe this off for as long as possible. What a tragedy, man. He should've been the best footballer from his generation, I mean, talent-wise, no one came close to him, but he was just not allowed to manifest it out to the rest of the world.

This is I think the only time I'll ever admit to Inter ruining a player, not just any player, but the closest thing to Maradona before Ronnie came on the scene. The coaches, administration and fans are absurdly irrational and demanding. They always want him to perform like he did in his debut against Brescia because of his contract. If he's not doing something magical or getting us out of a rut, he's an overpaid, lazy and inconsistent fraud. He's been misused and under utilized (except for his loan spell) ever since he got here. Mis-management coupled with injuries have led to the shrinkage of his creativity and confidence. Having scored something like 136 goals in 271 games (considering his minutes at Inter) just shows you that he's far from being inconsistent.

I couldn't disagree with this paragraph more. The hate-love relationship he's got with the Inter fans solely stems from him always wanting playing time. He didn't get the "Prima Dona" tag for being happy go lucky bench warmer who was only content with collecting his hefty paycheck. No, no, no, sir. Far from it, man. He's always let it be known that he wanted to be apart of Inter and not just simply play the first half, come off the bench in dire situations or play in meaningless matches. He's walked off the pitch a number of times (not saying this is right) for being wrongfully subbed and complains about his lack of play at Inter. He's far from being a complacent being. He's been offered loan deals many times and has refused them vehemently because he want's to fight for his spot at Inter. I don't think that the Italian league has affected his play, just the coaches and the way they've gone about using him. He's got one of the best goal/min ratios for Inter. When he's not scoring from set-pieces, he's scoring through his powerful pace combined with his Maradona-like dribbles. I can't count the number of times he's either fought of several defenders on his way to scoring, or sprinted swiftly past topclass defenders with his speed on his way to scoring. He plays a bit feebly at times and falls too easy, but that has nothing to do with his strength. He's very strong on the ball.

here is a site with his goals and your links came from

you copied new links without deleting old ones and it looks like [url ]part of old linknew link[/ url]....

go to site and right click > copy link adress, then paste it here in url tags (you must disable smileys and autoparsing urls)

http://www.holstonline.dk/recoba/goals/2002-2003/Serie%20A/(7)%20(08-03-2003)%20Bologna-Inter%201-2.avi

etc...

or don't do this, site is posted so everyone can download it directly from there you know

Recoba is slow? I'm not a big fan of Inter but I saw him play for Uruguay in WC2002, he was one of the fastest players I've ever seen.

JFG_Lancer
23-12-2004, 02:48:PM
El Chino is not slow he is pretty quick and he should leave Inter pretty quick unless he likes to sit on the bench and just watch? Oh and i'm not a overly huge fan of Italian Football outside of A.C Milan and Juve but is it Italian Football customs to but to many star players in the sam position and let one rot on the bench i mean we have Recoba and before Rivaldo, i mean whats next Juve buying Henry and not playing him? I mean i just don't understand it it makes no sense to me

23-12-2004, 03:04:PM
Yeah, when we were watching the WC2002 my dad was like "holy ****, look at the guy with the beaver teeth, hes fast as hell". He was definitely the best player for Uruguay at that time, very efforted as well.
