which countries will most likely be able to make a serious challenge at the world cup 2 years from now?
brazil always has talented and skilled players, they always can be considered as a serious competitor
france is in the period of a golden generation. they won wc98 and euro2000 the only player that would have to be replaced is blanc. + they got some young talented players like pirez, wiltord, henry and trezeguet
It's a bad period for germany, they lack new talent, such as Deisler and the old time greats like kopke, klinsman and matheaus and even sammer aren't in the manschaft anymore
holland, there is no upcoming new talent, except mabey van nistelrooy, this will have to be their last chance of ever winning a big prize, after that, their players will be too old to play in the next ec. if they can find a good coach again like hidink, they can pose a serious challenge
england seem to lack a good coach, they got talented players such as beckham, and cole to replace shearer. they too with a good coach, can pose a challenge
itally, almost all of their ec selection are from the italian serie A, which means their league is good, judging from prizes the clubs have won over the decade. their defencive wall will still be around at wc2002, don't know about ec2004 though
belgium can get far in the wc too, judging from their acomplishments in the 80's where we once finished as runners up. We have talented players who are wanted by big clubs such as arsenal, new castle and ac-milan
in 2 years they will have gained in experience, they allready got some international experience from euro2000, belgium will be an interesting side to watch during wc2002. things seem to be looking up for belgium with it's re-juvinated team
