I want to know is there any diff betwn a keeper with 75 skill and a keeper with 95 points.I finally get into the premiership and i use my entire 45000 points on buying Cassilas but still he gives away simple goals on the near post, gives away 25 yards free kicks then whats the use of buying him.I had dreams about creating a Chelsea like defence but if the keeper gives away simple goals then i dont think i can be the team with least "GA' tally(that beng my aim)

you could put your points in training upgrades onto keepering

Agreed, but if the player is a five star player like Cassilas then what difference will it make ,there is nothing more for him to learn

Doesn't make sense, he should be almost unbeatable. Sigh.

I thought about this a while back. I do think even Casillas and Buffon give up "easy goals" sometimes in the program. The difference is less that and more that they also make spectacular saves that a 75-skill GK would not. So I think they are still worth it. Especially when it comes time for a penalty kick shootout in a cup match. But you still need some luck.

When I saw this thread title I thought it would be about my favorite EA FIFA-2k5 play on a corner where the GK has the ball and rolls it out to a side defender, only to have the corner-taker intercept the roll and put it in the back of the net! Ryan Giggs alone must have scored half a dozen for me this way in several different careers, and this is the only way I have ever seen a defender score a goal in FIFA-2k5.

When I played in school our GK would actually be caught laying down when the ball had not been in his side for a while (we had a very good team, I was a sub and hardly ever got in the game). Makes me laugh when Ally or John say "if there's one man not laying down on this team it's the keeper".

Yes! That reminds me - that's stupid play #2. Only happened to me a couple times but I scratched my head and wondered what the heck did the little digital bits think they were doing kicking it right into a guy standing in front of them!

i stood in the way, the ball went to my left midfield guy who vollied it in from between the box and the half way line.
