Well, I have watched it for the first time ever today! I think it was very good. I had heard audio from the opening scene, expecting a comedy :crazyboy: But as it turns out, it's a great war movie!

My favourite scenes would have to be the opening scene, and the sniper scene. The opening scene has to be one of the all time best (Y).

I love this film, one of my all time favs - Kubrick at his very best. I thought it was both a hillarious comedy and a deep, moving war film. Brilliantly quotable too...

"You've got exactly three seconds to wipe that grin off your face or else I'm gonna rip out your eyeballs and skullf*ck you, do you understand!"

"Now get on your knees and choke yourself. Goddamnit, with my hands numbnuts! I SAID CHOKE YOURSELF! Are you still grinning? Sound off like you got a pair!"

agree, excellent. R. Lee Ermey was a God in there:

"I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would **** a person in the ass and not even have the goddam common courtesy to give him a reach-around." (Y)

"Holy dog ****. Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down dont it? Do you suck dicks?"

The training bit was definately the best bit, but it's all good and you really have to watch the very last scene to properly appreciate the whole film.
