I just heard that at a Hong Kong newsgroup.
They said that our local newspaper "Sing Tao Daily" reporters saw a photo of Pele outside a hospital in Phuket, Thailand. Those photos are used for the family to identify dead bodies....

A travel agency in Thailand indicate that Pele and his family were really staying at Phuket at that time. So the one in the photo is likely to be Pele.

Dont know if this news is real or crap...but i hope that is only the bulls*it...:(

Materazzi survived:

Several top Italian Serie A players were in the Maldives for holidays when the tsunami struck but they have escaped unharmed.

Alessandro Nesta was able to fly out early but his Milan teammate Paolo Maldini and Juventus' Gianluca Zambrotta were stranded for most of the day Sunday.

Some are still in the Maldives and it is unclear when they will be able to fly back for training ahead of the Serie A restart for January 6.

Inter defender Marco Materazzi, Milan striker Pippo Inzaghi, Livorno's top scorer Cristiano Lucarelli and Perugia patron Alessandro Gaucci were all waiting for flights.

"I'm fine, even if obviously we were scared," said Inzaghi, adding that there were around 300 tourists waiting in his resort's lobby for transport.

"We saw this huge wave coming towards the beach, so I grabbed my two children and ran towards safety," said Lucarelli.

I know its a bit off-topic but there is an AFL (Australia's national sport, Aussie Rules) player still missing and is feared dead. It is certainly a huge tragedy. Mother nature can be a bitch sometimes :(

Some people lack English skills.

Some people lack English skills. Why would he need to kick down 3 hotel doors to save his daughter? wouldnt they be unlocked?
