yes, I'm a PES fan...and I got so disappointed with FIFA 04 that I left this forum...

but then it cames, with no pretension at all...FIFA 05!! i only bought coz people told me so...with excellent recommendations...

and now guess what...i can't play neither pes or fifa...why?

fifa presented an excellent gameplay...of course, if compared with the other versions...but u can't put both gameplays of fifa and we together, coz they exist under in different contexts...

the question is...what context is more real??

the big thing of pes is the individual control u have over the player...it's so damn fun being able to dribble...with the analog control and with r2...that's perhaps a videogame philosophy already...controlling and dribbling that easy makes people get enchanted with pes after learning it...

that's THE challenge of easports for fifa06...teaching people how to play ea way and under fifa context...

which is in my opinion, the most realistic...

why? ok...u have the damn control over the players in pes, but...the speed is ridiculous!!! that's it...the gamespeed and players speed in their reactions are abnormal...edition after edition konami tries to settle it in a better way...but they can't.

fifa, however, presents a better game pace and the size of the fields is so much more loyal to the real life...that makes it possible for u to create plays by basically passing the ball...(like Arsenal, beautiful plays)...

of course there are some silly situations, unrealistic and etc...but, in the end, u feel (like someone here posted) that ea is walking on a path to a direction that konami supposedly reached...in terms of popularity, solely...not in terms of authenticity in their simulation title. ea is quite 'punishing' themselves, where every change and improvement is like a 'yeah, ok...I know u told us so'...and that's incredible! i hope they hear us much more...

the core of the game, which is deeply linked to the pace, and styles of play u can develop by simply passing the ball is so much more present in fifa than in we...where u can easily find spaces in the sidelines (side defenders attacking) and in the sideline of the penalty area...sometimes it gets obvious...u never get that tough marking in the real life...or the closest to that, offered by fifa 05, and obviously improveable.

I mean, that's crucial for me...in we, u can create so many plays, and that's the difference against fifa, but...hey...this 'creating plays' thing is also obvious too! it turns the game into something arcade-ish, something that fifa is/was. i played fifa 2005 for 10 min..real x barça...3x1 barça, show of eto'o...then i played real x arsenal, 5 stars level...4-0 to me, easily...with obvious sideline plays and dribbles inside the penalty box...c'mon...

what to say about the dribble animations and possibilies? so much more superior to we...but...in we, u can pull off them more easily...so...

once u learn to flick the analog stick the right way, u can make incredible, wonderful plays...

we could say in terms of fun...that fifa is a sketch, while we is now a complete drawing...but fifa is a very very realistic sketch, almost like a live portrait. and we is a cartoon, nice, colored...it's fun...but not thaaat realistic...

but toons are funny...and sketches got no color at all...

damn...which one should I play? maybe none...

or maybe i'd play we8 int...when the so announced 50% new animations for dribble come up...

or maybe UCL?

i strongly believe that fifa street will represent a new set mark for fifa franchise...graphically and in terms of gameplay too...i believe ea will impress really shockingly the ones who expect fifa 2006 to be just one more fifa...word from a pes fan...

that was a very well written analysis, it makes me think if pes is as good as people say it is.

Well Ive never played WE/PES before and maybe never will, then again never say never. I think coming from a PES fan that was well writtin, People have to understand that Fifa isnt as bad as people say it is, i think fifa 04 was nice havent played 05 yet but i asked people who played/plays soccer/football in real life and they all said that fifa 04 was very well made and realistic. im no football player heck i could only dream of playing but i like watching it when im in Portugal and playing football games. But like Rochester Rhino said, I wonder if PES/WE is THAT good. Maybe it is I dont know but hey to me fifa has come a long way from super fast speed to a more slowed down realistic speed, even though in 04 you couldnt change the game speed in which I belive in 05 you could, but hey in 2006 they should focus more on the AI and the "team" aspect of the game since football isnt about just the one player but working as a team...

Fifa gets a bad rap because of the EA logo on the box. If EA had nothing to do with the Fifa game, people would probably look at it differently. Like I've said before, both games are good in differnet aspects, and their is nothing wrong with enjoying both of them.
