Got this DVD for Christmas, and thought it was a decent movie. I've always been a fan of medievil stories, and I liked the old Excalibur movie. This one was a bit more realistic than the old 80's flick, and Keira Knightley helped me enjoy it a bit more.
Just wondering what some of you guys think about this movie. I'd give it 3/5 stars.

Sorry but I thought it was awful, my worst film of 2004. Everything about it was terrible, Clive Owen's performance was obismal, Kiera Knightly was covered in so much blue paint we couldnt appreciate her looks, Ray Winstone was good but overused, the story was boring and bland, the battles were unconvincing, there was nother Arthurian about it at all, it was too short and it was bad in every other respect. I dont get it? In a film where I want historical (to Homer anyway) accuracy, ie Troy, they go crazy and in a film I want to have an edge of fantasy and legend, King Arthur, they stick to some crappy, dull storyline. Even Ken Stott couldnt make this film enjoyable.

I was about to buy it but, I decide against it. I guess it was a good thing I didn't buy it.

How dare you compare this piece of garbage to the legendary Excalibur movie made in the 80s ?!
That was a masterpiece. This on the other hand was the worst movie i've ever watched in a movie theater. Even worse than Alexander...

I thought First Knight was really poor aswell, but not as bad ad the piece of crap called Merlin. Looks like I'm gonna have to take it upon myself to make a decent King Arthur film (H)

oh yeah, I remember that Merlin one. really bad.
and speaking about Merlin, wait until you see Merlin in this King Arthur movie. after Guinevere, he's the second worst character in the movie (N)(N)(N)

Yeah, the Merlin character was pretty weak. He was barely in the movie at all.

And nothing like he should be in any of the stories.

I thought King Arthur wasn't a bad film at all.
No, it was nothing compared to the masterpiece that was Excalibur. This was a re-invention of the legend, rather than following the legends that we know of. There are a few funny moments, especially with Bors uttering some ridiculous lines.
Merlin was a ridiculous character that almost served as comic relieve.
Keira Knightley, however covered with paint, was still awesome to watch.
oh by the way, i didnt reckon too much to this movie (not awful though to say it was on a small budget) but keira knightley still looked amazing.
