yeah i see now.i checked the free players in the editpes4option file program and noticed them, loads of 16 and 17 year olds, yeah by all means replace them with real players but i disagree with the nerdgod about replacing actual real life youngsters like fabregas etc
Yeah, I'm not deleting youth players from teams they're already on, that would be counter-productive. If anything I want to build up squads with players mising, not take them away.

Just so you know, there is a "Youth players" entry in EditPES4OptionFile, therefore you don't have to sort them out of other free players.
jimbo118 20-01-2005, 04:09:AM yeah i saw that kschoice after lookin through the different options;) ,didnt know there was so many 'fictional' youth players, some are quality like chapis
ps.wolf will you unlock robinho in the freelance section as he wasnt in the betas

I really think the Bulgarian squad is all messed up... I mean, How the hell can the overall defence be better than the attack when the only quality players we have are in the front part of the field? Is it possible that you do something to either make the attack better or make the defenders worse? It just doesn't make sense... and Bojinov sucks totally....
 anyone?
Scratch-Br 21-01-2005, 03:17:PM Wolf... in Russian national team... isn't it Evseyev in Left side and Sennikov on Right side?

Probably going to be the weekend or early next week before the next BETA version. This will be the last one before the end of the transfer window and then a final BETA will come out a few days after the transfer window for final testing with the full release a few days after that.

woot and so on
plus4s 21-01-2005, 10:20:PM Not sure whether the beta patch caused this but a couple of days after applying the beta patch. Each time i tried to load the game up , all i got was a windows error.
I reinstalled pro4 and just applied wolf's version 3 update and konami's 1.10 patch and it's back to working normally again.
Anyone else had this ?
Pes really does rule the roost:rockman: :rockman:

ugluk 22-01-2005, 11:18:AM Recent Lokomotiv transfers:
----> Bugaev (in)
and then other players that joined but I don't know their stats and i don;t think are in the game:
Lebedenko, Polyakov, Omelnyachuk, I. Starkov, Gviniadze, Zinoviev, Krivoruchko, Ionov
<---- Wagner (out) loaned to Inter, Brazil
Also possible transfers out soon (none of them are confirmed):
Buznikin, Pimenov, Nigmatullin, Obiora, Leandro, Nizhegorodov
Plus, the latest Lokomotiv line-up looked like this:
-------------Sychev----------------
--Izmailov------------Khoklov----
------Loskov------Maminov--------
-----------------------------
--------------Lima------------
-----------------------------
--Gurenko-------------------------Evseev
-------------Asatiani---Sennikov----
Note that:
A) Evseev is typically left flank, but can play right flank is well. In fact, it's better to put him on the left in the game, because that's where he plays 70% of the time.
B) Gurenko is typically a right-flank defender, but in the last half of the season played on the left.
C) Sennikov CAN play as a center back, but is usually employed on the right, thats his prefereed and most common position.
D) I have no idea of how to arrange the midfield, because one of the Lokomotiv tactics is to keep exchanging midfielders around the place, confusing the opponent and screwing up their tactics.
E) Lokomotiv usually plays with 5 defenders (nizhegorodov being the fifth), the last game was against a hard opponent and was more attacking.
Whichever you decide to follow is good, because I can fix it myself in the end :-P
But very very very very nice job on the patch, keep up the good work :) I was really amazed at how much you've done.
matthewfever 23-01-2005, 01:02:PM I use wolfs option file, but i use the option file editor to inrease all players attributes by 5 points. It means you still get the realistic balance between players, for example that campbell still has 13 extra points for jump over Rooney but gives the game a much more responsive, and exciting feel.

I think it would be a good idea for Wolf to release an ''official'' version of he's option file with globaly increased stats so that it would be greater chance to meet others with the same o-file in multiplayer. Ohterwise you have to negotiate every time for playing with increased stats.
I think it's now especially important because of what I've heard that Wolf is reducing stats for medicore players so that stars would be stars. Now come on, game is already too unresponsive and clumsy, decreasing stats for numerous players would make it unplayable. Like some crap amateur league.
Increasing stats(not all of them maybe) for everyone would be both fair and good for the gameplay.
Doncha think, Wolf?:brow:
TristanAbbott7 24-01-2005, 03:41:AM NEW BETA
This BETA is the first to have all FM2005 stats for the players as opposed to the previous versions which had the CM4 stats.
http://www.fcchampionz.com/TheWolfFM2005BETA4.rar
PLEASE NOTE: This option file does not have updated transfers past what the BETA3 version had as I have been spending time converting the stats as opposed to updating the transfers which will be done this week.

Any players who you see with squad numbers in the 90's mean I don't have their real squad number at present so any help with those would be appreciated. I'm currently working through the transfers, correct shoe allocations and face updates.
Goodison 24-01-2005, 05:07:AM will i post the numbers here or ???

Beattie at Everton has number 8.
I can tell you which boots Charlton players if you want?
Just realised your new option file is out, the Charlton positions are better except:
Kishishev: Add SMF
Konchesky: Add SMF
Powell: Take off WF (Not actually at Charlton now, Im looking through the in game editor though)
Young: Take off WF (Seems to be a problem with converting wing backs to WF I think)
Rommedahl: Add WF
Thomas: Add WF
Sam: Add WF
Also all Charlton shirts have straight names, not curved.
Kishishev and Holland should be CMF on the formation, not DMF. El Karkouri and Perry the other way round, it effects who goes forward on corners, and its perfect if they are that way ;)
Thats it, great work Wolf :)

TristanAbbott7 24-01-2005, 03:53:PM BETA version 5 released:
http://www.fcchampionz.com/TheWolfFM2005BETA5.rar
with updated transfers to Sun, Jan 22nd and amendments from this thread.
I'm slowly replacing the youth players from ML with real players and I've done about 40 so far.
With loans, if a player is on loan to the end of the season then I'm moving them to the club or to free agent if it's to a club outside of the game. If the loan is only until Feb/Mar then I'm leaving the player at the original club.
I need help with the new squad numbers for transferred players and any lineup changes this makes where regular starters have been transferred.
My big task this week is updating appearances from:

http://www.pesfan.com/bulletin/showthread.php?t=52559
Keep the amendments coming please.

Charlton boots:
Adidas (Wold cup I think, the plain adidas basically):
Holland, Hreidarsson, Stuart, Young.
Plain black nike (with tick obviously):
Thomas, Johansson
Nike 90 White, red, black tick/text
Bartlett, Fortune, Lisbie
Nike 90 Black, white:
Murphy, Konchesky (Maybe Sankofa as well)
Adidas F50 all white with blue:
Jeffers
Adidas F50 black with yellow:
Andersen
Black boot with white (eg line colours, tongue, studs etc):
Kiely, Royce, Perry, Kishishev
Plain black:
El Karkouri
Adidas F50 black/blue:
Euell
Puma black/white:
Fish
White boot, with black logo:
Hughes
Silver with red logo on side:
Rommedahl
Heres some more stuff if you want it and don't mind adding it.
Every Charlton player should have always short sleeves, except:
Seasonal:
Rommedahl, Perry, Young, Johansson, Murphy, Thomas, Hughes, young players probably seasonal, Long, McCafferty, Sam, Varney.
Always long:
Royce, Andersen
Wristband:
Bartlett L/R
El Karkouri L
Kishishev L
Fortune (well has something similar: L/R
Turn gloves off for everyone except Thomas
Tape changes:
Add Perry, Konchesky, Thomas, Euell, Bartlett and Lisbie
Murphy hair and facial hair (Just looks a bit better):
Shape 1
Front 3
Darkness 3
Hair colour 10
Facial hair 116, colour 6
Off course these last changes are up to you if you put them in, but any chance you could update the positions sometime as the ones I said actually are in FM.

very weird indeed, never happened before with any other

btw. my apologies if this has been already covered, this thread
is getting too big to browse through! :p
Canhoteiro 25-01-2005, 01:39:PM Hey Wolf, this is the "convocação" (don't know the english word) for the brazilian team that will play against Hong Kong in february.
I have correct some players, because for exemple Kaká and Dida where spared, but they ways are first liners, and Gilberto Silva is hurt and can't play. This is basic the team that will play most of matches this year.
Goleiros
1 - Dida (Milan)
2 - Julio Cesar (Flamengo))
Zagueiros
Juan (Bayer Leverkusen)
Roque Júnior (Bayer Leverkusen)
Lúcio (Bayern de Munique)
Luisão (Benfica)
Laterais
Cafu (Milan)
Belletti (Barcelona)
Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid)
This is tricky, the second Left SB always changes, Parreira is trying many players, he has called Gilberto (Hertha), Gustavo Nery (Werder Bremen) and Maxwell (Ajax). He is calling Gilberto more often, but Gustavo Nery played a great Copa America, and earned Parreira's trust, but since he is hurt, he isen't being called. Your call in this one.
Meio-campo
Renato (Sevilla)
Emerson (Juventus)
Juninho Pernambucano (Olympique Lyon)
Zé Roberto (Bayern de Munique)
Gilberto Silva (Arsenal)
Edu (Arsenal)
Alex (Fenerbahçe)
Kaká (Milan)
Atacantes
Ronaldinho Gaúcho (Barcelona)
Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Adriano (Internazionale)
The Fourth Striker is changing, it was Luis Fabiano (Porto), but he is having the worst time in Portugal, and Parreira has called Robinho, who is playing very well here in Brazil. It is more likely Robinho takes Luis Fabiano's place for good, especially after he transfers to Real Madrid.
That's it.
The team plays like this:
4-4-2
--------------------------------Dida - 1----------------------------
Cafu 2 ------Juan 3 -----------Roque Junior 4 -------- R. Carlos 6 ---
-------------------Gilberto Silva (propably Emerson now) 5----------
--------Juninho 7----------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------Zé Roberto 11------
------------------------------Kaká 8 -------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------Ronaldinho Gaúcho 10------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------Ronaldo 9 -------------------
Ah, and one more thing, In your Patch Copa America (the similar to Eurocup) is displayed like "Copa Libertadores", Libertadores is like UEFA Champions League. Hope you fix this...
And I wanted to ask you to put those Davidian faces in your next patch.
Sorry for the english.
See ya.
amendments to Fulham...
A.Green and Bonnissel should definitely have their first positions as SB.
Clark's dominant foot should be R, not L.
..that's all for now
Many thanks, Wolf!

TristanAbbott7 26-01-2005, 05:10:PM BETA6 now available:
http://www.fcchampionz.com/TheWolfFM2005BETA6.rar
This BETA has about 50 players called EDIT in the free agent/youth player list. This is because these players are to be replaced with real life players as I continue to update the squads. For example, in updating the Spanish La Liga squads I had to create over 50 players (taking the stats from FM2005). As I work through the other leagues I will be using these 'EDIT' players to build real players to add to the squads.
For the Spanish league I had very good websites to help and also I have found a good website to work through the French league which I have just started (fans of AC Ajaccio and AS Monaco can check that I've updated their squads so far) .
What I really, really need are good websites to help with the Italian, Dutch and German squads to make sure the squads are correct as well as the squad numbers. Please could somebody help me locate some good websites for these leagues which are up to date. Preferably in English but no big disaster if not.
I haven't implemented all the changes posted on here since the last BETA although I have updated the transfers as of Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Anyway, expect another BETA before the end of the week as I continue to update. Please continue to post errors, amendments required, line-up changes (especially with the new transfers affecting the squads), etc.

Was this massive stats change meant to make the games harder/ more challenging/more realistic? or was it meant to make the game smoother and faster? b/c some of these dudes are flying faster than ever....at least it seems that way.
By the way Robbie Keane starts over Kanoute in Spurs and Reto Ziegler is also a starter over Davies or Davis..he can play WF/or LB/RB...

There were a huge number of people unhappy with the fact that defenders took too long to recover and would stumble for no reason when going in for a tackle which was very unrealistic. I've noticed that defenders do react better but surely this is more realistic. To be honest, I really didn't know what to expect when the stats were made more realistic. I knew some people wouldn't like the change but I couldn't go on playing a game where the stats of 60-75% of players were artificially boosted by 15-25 points in almost every area just to make it possible to win the league and cups with any team, however weak on any level once you got half decent at the game.
With the new stats, good players in real life shine in the game but I don't think they're untouchable. Some people have said they find the game harder, some easier so I really don't know what the overall effect is. I just set out to make the stats as realistic as possible and really FM2005 was the only answer to this.

jimbo118 27-01-2005, 07:41:PM just had a game with the latest beta
arsenal vs chelsea on 5 star,10 mins
i really like the speed of the game,it felt slow but not mind-knumbingly boringly so,it just felt measured like an italian league game.i have to give you major cred for the virtual annihilation of the cpu tripping/fouling/pulling bug against wingers.
the balance for wingers is now improved which means that players like duff and robben were now able to beat a player and not get pulled down.this doesnt mean that they are unchallenged though as lgungberg who was chasing robben performed a beautiful sliding tackle to win the ball back.
i did notice though that the cpu sb's(cole and lauren)didnt sprint forward when they got the ball with space, this might have something to do with their attack attitude but i'll need to play more to see if its common.overall i think these stats work well;)
matthewfever 27-01-2005, 08:30:PM Yeah its good changing that stats over to fm2005, maybe when its finished you can iron out some of the kinks for example giving all players 2 more response points or something.
Anyway on another note, after you have finished this wolf, will you be creating a patch with all the revolution faces included, some of the faces being created are amazing.

I think its because wing back is a position in FM (Same thing as DM R/L), it shouldn't be converted into anything in PES (As the player will have D R/L or M R/L as well in FM), therefore its not really needed for PES, as the player will be a SB or SMF anyway.
WF is PES should be used for players that can play AM R or L in FM.

Thanks great work. Ill have a look as I think theres a few appearances that could be improved, if you want them of course.
Are you just going to keep releasing betas until after the transfer window?
Just a few things missing, positions:
Holland add DMF and SMF
Konchesky add SMF
Kishishev add SMF
Thomas WF
Sam WF
Johansson WF SMF
Lisbie WF
You've missed some of the tape, gloves, sleeves but I doubt many people are bothered that Ill probably just change them myself. Positions are the only important thing really.
Are you going to fix the shirt name/number colours, for example Middlesbrough and Norwich should have black on the home shirts. Theres a few more that are wrong as well.

kisling 28-01-2005, 02:29:PM Wolf when do you think you will release this patch, and why is rooney so fast in the game. He is not that quick in real life. Morientes could be a tad faster as he is very slow. Brilliant Betas by the way.

Rooney is actually pretty fast for being a bit on the plump side, that's one thing which amazed me when I first saw him play for Everton. He's got a freakishly good jump for his stature too. Morientes really isn't that fast. If you watch him play, he actually times his runs very well. He can take a 15 yard run-in and beat somebody to the ball who was 5 yards away from the path of the ball because his timing is so good. Does a lot of first time shots which although not hard shots. are great for catching the goalkeeper out of position.
As for the final option file, the final version will be about a week after the end of the transfer window.
Prutser 28-01-2005, 04:44:PM Wolf did you take the stats, for example Rooney on how fast he is, over from FM2005. Or did you changed it a little bit because you saw him playing on tv a couple of times ?
How about R.Babel from Ajax, is he fast now with this new optionfile ?
I think he's pretty fast, looks how he's playing the last couple of times. Especially yesterday agains Heerenveen for the cup, really fast and nice goal with his left foot.
Did you already changed the formation of Ajax, Charisteas and Rosales in ?
Thanks, great work.

No bud, I always leave the stats as they are. I never change anything to my own personal opinion. All the stats are taken straight from FM2005.
I working my way through the squads at the moment from the official website so I'm not up to the dutch league yet. I've done the Spanish league and just completed the French league. I'm hoping to have the German and Italian leagues finished by Monday/Tuesday so I can concentrate on the Dutch league and other teams next week. It takes a long freaking time going through every squad and every player and I'm spending about 4-5 hours a day at the moment with everything. With the lineups, appearances and everything else it's a heck of a task.
Blackjim 28-01-2005, 06:28:PM Hey Wolf , I see that in the new option file you made the new PAO roster ( although some mistakes still exist :O ). The appearances though , of the new players, are totally wrong. If I give some photos can you fix them?
Do you want to get the faces done by some "facemakers"?
Well done for your job anyway.
Goodison 28-01-2005, 07:03:PM www.bundesliga.de is a good site for german squads etc although you may already know this;)
yahoodee 28-01-2005, 08:33:PM Hi Wolf,
some players of Manchester United needs a namecorrection (i prefer to leave out the firstname of players with unique lastnames and use only shortened firstnames):
Guiseppe Rossi -> G. Rossi
Roy Keane -> Keane
R. Ferdinand -> Ferdinand
Ricardo Lopez -> R. Lopez
i suggest the following changes for the starting lineup:
Rooney as right striker and Saha as left striker
C. Ronaldo with an offensive orientation forward along the right fieldside
in addition FSV Mainz should be renamed to FSV Mainz 05 with the shortcut FSV
and Balitsch has shirtno 6 (Tavcar left Mainz and gone somewhere else (free agent))
Balitsch replaced Kramny in the starting lineup
M. Freidrich has to be renamed to M. Friedrich
thanks for your effort, great work m8 ;)

Are you going to do it when you're done with the final ? I thought I can wait untill the end of the transfer window to use your option file, but I guess I can't :( :D . Is there anyway to get it to WE8(J) option file? I like your option file, and just want to try it out ;) If this is already done and I missed where you post it, could you post the link again? Anyway, good job. Your option file rock :rockman:

This doesn't have all the updates posted here since the last one as there have been a lot - far too many to do in just a few days with everything else.
Anyway, the Spanish and French squads have been totally updated from the official websites and I'm now halfway through the German league. I'll turn my attention to the Dutch, Italian, English and misc. teams next. Finally I'll do all the appearance stuff as this is the least important. The squads need to be done first as to keep changing those messes up save games etc. and I'm sure everybody just wants to go ahead and get playing ASAP after the end of the transfer window.
RicFlair, I'll go through those squads soon, I just want to make sure every squad is done as I go along and I can give them my full attention.
Every youth/free agent player now is a genuine player. Other than the ML starting squad there are no unreal players left in the game. Some of the free agents will be overwritten by players I need to add to existing teams in the game as having up to date squads is the main priority.
Would really help if people could start listing the changes that need to be made to national rosters for teams as I think I'll be ok with the club teams from now on and I've got good transfer websites to go through every team at the end of the transfer window.
Anyway, keep all the changes coming. This is a lot of freaking work but it'll be worth it.
RicFlair 29-01-2005, 12:28:PM Birmingham City have agreed a £6m fee for under-fire Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy.

Should be able to overwrite.
RicFlair 29-01-2005, 02:05:PM Yeah, I just tried, I think whatever changes you make on your own, get overwritten by your new one.
Wolf. so you changed all the stats? of every player already? and now you are doing roster updates?
Wow. So every player as of right now is FM2005 certified?
TristanAbbott7 29-01-2005, 02:17:PM Originally posted by RicFlair

Wow. So every player as of right now is FM2005 certified?
There were like about 20 players total who weren't in the FM database, mainly Iraq and North Korea players so I just left them with default Konami stats. Other than that, every player in there has FM2005 database stats. I've created over 200 new players too so there are no more fakes in there except the ML default squad who a number of people seem to like so I retained them.
All I'm doing for the next 4-5 days is roster updates followed by making sure all of the transfers are taken care of. Then I'm gonna work on starting line-ups and appearances to finish off. It'll probably be about Feb 4/5 before it's done but given some transfers initiated on Jan 31st can still go through 3 or 4 days later after medicals it's about right.
being really picky again.. sorry!
The name and number colours on the Fulham HOME shirt should both be black, not red
Many thanks again!
sammi 29-01-2005, 03:25:PM Thanks WOLF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pog88 29-01-2005, 06:41:PM i've been swapping your new option file with your last non-fm stat one and i can see a massive difference with first touch. In your old option file, players control and touch seem far better than with the new option file. I've got a feeling that this is something to do with Konami trying to downgrage players with great stats by giving them a poor first touch - just a theory

Solid work by you; all that you do is really above and beyond the call of duty; but this is really true in this case...Thanks.
Oh, btw; REUTERS is reporting here (http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsArticle.jhtml?type=worldFootballNews&storyID=7424577) that Ogbeche is loaned by PSG to Metz for the remainder of the season...
9-Ball 29-01-2005, 11:01:PM At risk of appearing foolish, when does the transfer window close? Jan 31st?
Second, tracking this for a while, Wolf, I think I speak for everyone in here in hurling a giant thank-you in your direction for all the work you do with this that adds an important aspect to the game we enjoy. Having spent a lot of time editing rosters/etc for PES3, I know the long and somewhat tedious process well.
Finally, a request that possibly someone here will have a good resource for. Once the final version of this file comes out (after the transfer window closes) I will want to add in the Hungarian national team, circa 1954. I know I know, an odd thing. I happen to think them the best team that ever took to the field and consider it a major omission that the likes of Kocsis and especially Hidegkuti were left out of the classic players group and only Puskas made it in. Regardless, does anyone have a link to a good website that shows squads/rosters/biog. info of historic national squads? I've scoured the web and found brief info from match reports of the time but nothing that gives a good clear run-down on the squad and ideally as much info on each player as possible. Appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction here?
9.

Great line up Pablo_el ;) Gratulacje!! :rockman:
pog88 30-01-2005, 04:56:AM i do feel the game doesn't respond to this patch very well, despite players incredible stats, players like Zidane are terrible dribblers compared to the wolfs last non fm-stat patch - do people agree??
Popoia 30-01-2005, 06:08:AM Wolf, as always, your efforts are appreciated. A job well done. Thank you.
Only one concern -- the balance attributes. I realize this is not an attribute you subjectively handed to players. Though widely respected, the FM database missed the boat on this. Puyol, an anchor on defense, was attributed a measly 59 under balance. Hard to believe, particularly since balance "relates to a player's ability to stand up to a strong challenge." Indeed, most Spanish soccer players have balance attributes that are suspect. Just food for thought.
Again, Wolf, thank you. You make the game that much more enjoyable.
Punkt 30-01-2005, 06:29:AM wolf i have a question for you
all players that you created have their real age but in ML Mode they all have 17 years old and with very low stats. why this happens? and are any way to avoid that?
jimbo118 30-01-2005, 07:12:AM small player update:eboue at arsenal should be a sb(primary pos) and sm,not a cb,dmf and wf aswell

Well I found the patch made the game far too EASY, all of a sudden the other team kept losing the ball and ....it just became like a fifa game.
So I got rid of it and rolled back to a much earlier one that came with the massive patch he did with adboards, balls etc.
matthewfever 30-01-2005, 09:12:AM What the hell is going on here, when i start master league with original match teams, look at the players stars, they are ALL like this. Keane is highlighted. 100+ stats and crap on everything else??? what the hell, this is BETA8

TristanAbbott7 30-01-2005, 10:21:AM matthewfever, I have no clue what you have installed or whether you're trying to continue an already saved game but when I start a new ML Keane's stats are as follows:
http://img188.exs.cx/img188/2238/beta82oa.jpg
If you try to continue a ML with the BETA's then you'll have probs because the whole database has changed.
A few other people have had problems with this and normally because it's because they have either a mixture of patches installed or they're continuing saved games.
TristanAbbott7 30-01-2005, 10:24:AM Originally posted by pog88
i do feel the game doesn't respond to this patch very well, despite players incredible stats, players like Zidane are terrible dribblers compared to the wolfs last non fm-stat patch - do people agree??
If you compare Zidane's new stats to his old stats there is very little difference and certainly nothing in the dribble ability that would cause him to be "terrible".
There is nothing that I can do short of changing the core game code to give players a terrible first touch or make them poor dribblers short of changing the stats to really bad ones and as you can see for yourself in the game, I haven't done that.
pog88 30-01-2005, 05:12:PM don't get me wrong wolf - i love your patch and your efforts. I just feel the game doesn't like all these superb players, and attempts to hinder players regardless of their skill
domin8or 30-01-2005, 05:20:PM Then don't use the patch. The recent patches have worked fine for me.

matthewfever 30-01-2005, 10:20:PM Thats good to hear Wolf, so its a problem with my game, by the way it was new game master league, very odd that its doing this, could it perhaps be that im using the Champions League Patch 2004/2005 german 0_text.afs mainly because he has edited all pitch textures and they look much better than default. other than that im confused, i am on 1.0 as i cant get 1.1 to work, something to do with the nocd crack im sure. and KDB with 3rd kits etc.

yes its installed, still empty squads in edit mode, and still doesnt say 1.1 in windiwed mode
jimbo118 30-01-2005, 11:03:PM i have patch 1.1 installed but in windowed mode its just says pro evolution soccer 4,the only player called 'edit' in edit mode is that south korean player in feyenoord, his nationality is now iraqi though but he looks the same as before, just his name is changed.i also have kitserver w/3rd kits installed
matthewfever 30-01-2005, 11:23:PM 1.1 aint installed then paulie, ive had it installed and it does say version 1.10.
Maybe we need a tutorial on how to apply patch properly, or we shud buy the game, although i dont have dvdrom.
jimbo118 30-01-2005, 11:28:PM i did buy the game,i dont have nocd crack or any of that ****
in my dat folder there is a folder called patch1_10 and in that there is the para_we8 and pd_data_license files, what gives?
i just checked that player called 'edit' in feyenoord and he doesnt have a nationality,it just goes with whatever player is beside him,for example i went to the player in front of him who is from iraq, then i went back to the 'edit' player and he was iraqi,i then went to the player behind him who was from brazil then he was brazilian when i went back.i guess he is 1 of the players wolf was looking to replace with someone
Omario 31-01-2005, 12:00:AM Wolfmasterflex, are you including faces in the next pack? Neovico's and Davidian's are the bomb. This would make your patch ultimately amazing.

Yep, that'll definitely be the problem as the param_dat is patched in the 0_text.afs file in the Champions League patch so the data is conflicting. When I release the final version I'll also release a new param_dat so that regardless of what patch you're using you can patch the game to work with ML and online andh vae no conflicting stats.

Hi Wolf and first let me thank for your absolutely great work !
I noticed some inaccuracies in the Lyon team (beta 8):
Players numbers:
Hima: #31
Jacmot: #33
Bergougnoux: #21
Foot:
Abidal: L
Idangar: L
Clément: L
Missing player:
Benzema: #28 17 yo striker (can be found in FM2005)
Formation: 4-3-3
------------------------Coupet---------------------
Reveillere-----Cacapa-------Cris--------Abidal
[DMF]-----------------Diarra-----------------------
[CMF]--------Essien--------Juninho-------------
-------------------------------------------------------
[WF]----Govou---------------------Malouda------
------------------------Wiltord-----------------------
Set pieces:
Everything for Juninho
Captain:
Cacapa
Subs: (in order of importance)
Frau
Nilmar
Berthod
Bergougnoux
Diatta
Ben Arfa
Clement
Puydebois
Benzema
Gomez
Truchet
Idangar
Hima
Hartock
Jacmot
Players appearances:
Please refer to UEFA CL site (http://www.uefa.com/Competitions/UCL/Clubs/Club=5312) to find photos of the players. Most inaccurate are:
Cris: skin color should be 1 or 2 & bold
Juninho: longer hair
Malouda: not bold
Clement: wrong haircut & color
Ben Arfa: skin color should be 3
Nilmar: darker & longer hair
PS: there seems to be a problem with the import from FM2005: full-backs are marked WF whereas wingers (like Wiltord, Govou) don't have WF ability.
Cheers

wolf that age problem... :p
The ages in ML go from the default Konami database. Until the final 2005 is released this problem won't be solved because these BETA's are only supposed to be used for people to notify me of chages that are needed to squads, line-ups and appearances. The final option file will work perfectly fine with the ML and online.
TristanAbbott7 31-01-2005, 02:19:PM To date, just to correct the squads of the French, Spanish and German leagues I have had to create 114 players. Obviously, to create these players I have to use stats from CM4 (which are too low by general consensus) or FM2005 which I have been doing. By the time all of the 6 leagues are finished, the misc. teams are done and the international squads are completed, I'm probably looking at about almost 300 players or maybe more that have needed creating from scratch. To have the defualt Konami database in conjunction with over 300 players in the game having a completely different system of stats makes no sense whatsoever!
The choice for people is to have incredibly out of date squad list and for teams like FSV Mainz, have about 8 of their first 22 missing or have the FM2005 stats and adjust to a very slight difference in gameplay experience which so far the feedback with the exception of about 4 or 5 people has been extremely positive. No players have been turned into crash test dummies and no players have been turned into Superman. The only thing that has changed is that Konami's false bumping up of 60-70% of the players stats to try and make most of the teams pretty much equal has been changed so strong teams in real life are still strong but weak teams in real life are now weak in the game rather than average-good.
I've already said it about 5 times in this thread but I want a REALISTIC option file, not one with artificially boosted stats so winning the treble with WBA or St. Etienne is a breeze when you're half decent. I certainly don't want a game where I can't have most of the teams correct because the players aren't in the game. If people are fussy enough to want their favourite player to wear the correct boots or have the correct chin shape then surely they should be fussy enough to have the correct squad for their team or have their players stats reflect real life more than fantasy.
So please, use this thread for the remainder of it's life to post changes not ask the same questions about why I can't make a non-FM2005 version etc. If you don't want to use the option file I'm not forcing you, it's not like you're paying me to do it either so some people could do with being a little more polite in their comments too.
kisling 31-01-2005, 03:03:PM Totally agree with you wolf, the fm stats just make the game more real as they take there stats from opta and other scouts worldwide. Any yes i thought the point was to have the game as close to reality as possible with the inclusion of all these kits and boots etc so why not the option file.
GOOD WORK WOLF...
David
Me too Wolf, you have my total support.
The implementation of the FM stats in the option file make the game more realistic and that's I want to achieve in a footy game ( to be as close to real life as possible )
And everyone should also be able to make his or her own modifications in the option file if they want to.
That's not a big deal
So I would say, don't bother too much with people's pointless requests and go on with your work. It is very much appreciated

limburglos 31-01-2005, 11:05:PM Wolf,
played with Beta 8 for the first time today and it feels different. Better, I think, but I need some more time to make a good judgement.
Anyway, I noticed a few things. Maybe you can use 'em. I know you still have to look into the teamtactics, but I'll give you these tips:
Ajax: front line consists of: mitea, charisteas and rosales. De Ridder and Anestasiou are bench-players. Or even less...
Feyenoord: Hofs needs to be in the team. He's a rightwinger. Gibbs and Ostland (new players) played in the team this weekend.
PSV: I noticed you tweaked the Brazilian defender Alex. I don't want to go into judging players abiltities (as that will be a long and impossible discussion) but one thing just has to change. His shot power is too low. In the original Konami-settings his shot power was something in the 90's. And it really has to be. I see him play every week and he takes all the free kicks that are 25+ meters away from goal. He just rockets the ball at the target, like Roberto Carlos does. It's not that he scores every week, but the power is definetely there.
By the way, PSV bought a new Brazilian striker, Robert. He plays his first match this saturday. I'll try to judge his abilities and tell you about it. I'll be a scout. A Wolf-Scout, so to say...
Keep up the good work!

The final option file will work perfectly fine with the ML and online.
thanks for the support. i'm pleased that the problem will be corrected in the final release :)

TristanAbbott7 01-02-2005, 09:55:AM Just working my way through the Italian squads now - how screwed up are they given they were officially licensed? In some teams I've had to release 5 players and create another 5 or 6 who aren't in the game.
After the Italian league there's just the Dutch, English and misc teams so it'll probably take me until Thursday to get these done. Some of the transfers which are initiated today are subject to medicals which can take 48 hours and some late filing for transfers/loans can be handed in today and take until the end of the week to go though so I'm looking at the weekend for the pre-final BETA which will basically be for tweaks and any major errors I've somehow overlooked. Some of the appearance stuff may come in a later update in a week or so as it won't affect the starting of leagues etc. which I'm sure people just want to get on and play.
After that I'm going to work on the 2005 patch for WE8:I which so far seems to have some nice tweaks on from PES4 so I'm thinking a lot of people will be updating to thta when it's out.

Reid, 22, told Tottenham's official website: 'I am just delighted to get it done.

Well here in North Texas soccer is HUGE! You see more kids playing soccer on parks than anything else and there's about 250,000 kids registered in either YMCA, recreational or Select leagues in and around DFW so it's big business. Across the USA now there are over 22 million kids and adults in either seasonal or year round soccer leagues so it's growing big time. It's second to only basketball in sports participated across all ages and the USA had 4.2 million more kids in soccer than baseball last year. True, it's still not watched that hugely live although the MLS crowds are similar to attendances at English Championship or lower Premiership team games in attendances.
I actually coach Select soccer (which is like youth semi-pro where kids look to get soccer scholarships to college or hopefully drafted to the reserve or first team MLS or A-Team squads). Spector who's at Man. Utd. came from DFW through our Select system. There are more and more kids every year taking up the sport. I've done skills at elementary and middle schools on and off over the last 5 years and every year that comes through there are more and more kids playing the sport. Some High Schools in our area (equivalent to Secondary schools in England) now have to have 6 different school teams, 3 for the boys and 3 for the girls because so many kids register for the programs each year. 5 years ago it was rare for a school to have more than 3 teams.
Anyway, as for fave team, I like Man. Utd. and have done since the '77 cup final v Liverpool. I appreciate any good teams though and watch about 10 games a week on cable from the EPL, La Liga or Serie A.
I'll be glad when this option file is over though because I spent 7 hours today updating the Italian teams and creating over 75 youth players to make the squads accurate.

Thanks. I'm gonna go through the whole transfer thing this coming weekend as hopefully everything will have gone through by then. Apparently there were about 100 pending transfers/loans waiting to go through which got filed before the deadline but we still won't know if they're approved/official until maybe Wednesday/Thursday for some of them or even Friday for the loans because the process is different and is subject to more contractual work than plain transfers.
Scratch-Br 01-02-2005, 02:53:PM Hm, very good work. Europe has a deadline, it will be easier... Brazil actually has not cause Serie A (BR) is from March to December... so we're in "off-season", just with regional championships.
Jussiê left Cruzeiro for Lens... If you keep Cruzeiro on your patch, i'll see tomorrow their 2005 squad and players...
They played their first game with this squad:
4-4-2
Fabio
Ruy - Edu Dracena - Marcelo Batatais - Athirson
Fábio Santos - Maldonado (DMF's)
Adriano - Wagner (OMF's)
Fred - Michel
Uh... just a question... is it actually possible change Classic Teams for another club teams? (i.e. Classic Netherlands -> Shaktar) ... and if yes, is it possible to change players' nationalities?
limburglos 01-02-2005, 06:00:PM Hi Wolf,
just some more Dutch info:
PSV-defender Jakobsen has been sold to an obscure Danish club.
PSV-attacker Vonlanthen is hired to Brescia.
Feyenoord-defender Loovens is going to De Graafschap.
And one little thing: PSV's captain is not Park (as it is in Beta 8) but Van Bommel. He has been for years.
Andreas 01-02-2005, 06:05:PM Hey Wolf, just a question about your option file. Now that there's a program where you can edit player names and use in online play, will you use this for your option file?
Very annoying to play with Germany online and don't know who half of your players are!
