Nope, still a ton of loans and transfers waiting to get the final stamp of approval. Working my way through updating the Dutch league at the moment which has been a pain. The EPL will take me about half a day then I've got to do the misc teams and the starting line-ups so it'll be this Friday for the final BETA for corrections and then the final release probably Sunday/Monday.

yes this has become a problem as sbs are now coming on up front,is there any way you could just disable the wf position as there are no players who are just wfs,it's a stupid position anyway

Progress update:

Finally finished the Dutch league which took me forever!!!

I'm just finishing off the EPL and tonight and tomorrow I'm going through the misc. teams. This should be it for the squads. I've created over 300 new players. The youth players in the game have been replaced by real players and the 'bonus' players in the club shop have been updated so that the ones still playing have had their stats/clubs updated via FM2005 and the other players have again been replaced by existing real life players so all players in the bonus section of the shop have been unlocked because the players that have replaced them have been alloacted to their clubs. Had to do this because there weren't enough slots to get all the new players in without doing it. The classic teams I've left untouched but locked so they don't affect ML.

All in all, it's the most accurate in terms of rosters I've been able to get from official websites etc. No doubt there are still going to be some errors which is why when I release the final BETA version at the weekend, I need some feedback to get it staight so I can release the final version early next week and convert it for the PS2 and the X-Box too. I'm going to talk to Yannick to see if we can't get it converted to the PS2/X-Box versions of WE8:I too. As soon as WE8:I for the PC is in my hands I'll makei t compatable with that too (along with the whole 2005 patch).

Anyway, what I'd like most are national team updates in terms of changes to squads in the game, who doesn't play on the national teams anymore and what players should replace them. Updated starting formations for the national teams would be good too.

Thanks for everybodys help so far. This is taking like 6 hours a day of my time but I can't settle down to play properly until I feel I have the most realistic option file I can make.

If you were able to get this option file to work with WE8 international I would be FOREVER greatful...

Well, it's definitely gonna be compatable with WE8:I on all formats, it may just take a few days of messing around to get it sorted but there's plenty of people to test it out and Yannick's a genius so I'm sure he can update his editor to save the option files in the required format.

this sounds good but what about the players ability of advancing their stats? is that ... don't know how to say... "potential meter" also adjusted to the players via the fm stats update?

i had this problem with FCHs option file of the german champions league patch where he replaced some classic players with real ones... and in masterleague i've made a worldclass player with stats far above the 90s out of a player from the 2nd german bundesliga... :rolleyes:

Hey just a quick question, with all the new faces being made and the big facepacks coming out are you going to be including the face assignments to your option file because the majority use your option file and it is a pain to have to reasign all faces again when a new file comes out.

Will u include say neovico's superpacks in your next patch?

To be honest that development curve exists regardless of the stats of the player. i.e. the curve of the player says that, for example, in passing if the player is played regularly they can max out 99 for passing. This is the same devellopment line whether the player starts on 40 for passing or starts on 88. Players have a maximum they can attain if they are played regularly and so the increase each game is adjusted accordingly.

I had youth players in my last ML campaign reach mid to upper 90's for almost every attribute so I had 4 unreal nobodies on my squad who were better than any player who has ever lived! At least with this new option file you'll have real players. The game and the way it is programmed may make them increase to an unnatural ability level and this is a drawback of the ML this year, but at least those players are genuine players this time around. Personally, when I play the ML (or when I next start it), I'm not going to buy and develop those youth players and just stick to buying regular players like I would if I was a manager in real life where I don't know that if I play this player every game he's going to be better than Pele within 18 months.

I want to keep away from this because the option file will also be used by a lot of PS2 players who won't be using these facepacks and also a lot of PC users too. It's better to have the default faces and edited enhancements than these new facepacks because 90% of people won't be using them so it'll throw the majority of people off with the wrong faces.

If somebody wants to edit the option file after it's finished to work with these faces and release it as a facepack compatable option file they're more than welcome to do it but I certainly don't have time at the moment.

many CBTs have 'positioning' and 'reaction',even 'line positioning' special skills. maybe it's not the same meaning between FM2005 and PES4 in these settings.

but you DO NEED very good youth players imho, cause what i hated the most in pes3/we7 was that after ten seasons i was still playing with players who should be retired a long time ago.

afaik the stats will stay fm in the final... wolf will include the para_we8.bin wich will be used in ml...

i think the names and ages will also stay fm for overwritten players except of the development curve...

so is the beta 5.0 the latest version that has been realesed ?? do u kno wen the next version will be realesed, and why in beta 5.0 some of the stats seem to be low, its annoying cause i make them wat i think is right , but wen i start ML the stats go bak to the default ones which u made.

The final BETA version will be released sometime on Sunday night.

I will give until the end of Wednesday for all corrections to be posted. I will then spend Thursday/Friday making any needed amendments and the final release will be made next on the Friday/Saturday.

The final release will include:
- The 2005 Option File Final
- Lastest version of EditPES4OptionFile editor plus compatable FM2005 cache database
- The files and tools necessary for you to patch your game so that the option file will be compatable with online and Master League play.
- A dummies guide to installation.

I will hopefully also have WE8:I PC by then so I will try to ensure I have a version of the pack ready for the game within a few days of the release of this one.

I'm going to release it on a number of different forums so I get as much feedback on required changes as possible.
