View Full Version : [P+R] Chelsea vs Manchester United [LEAGUE CUP SF]

League cup semi final tonight. Who will win?

United have never lost in a domestic cup semi final with SAF.

Ferguson will be bringing back Saha from injury for this game, either as a sub or a starter.

Ferguson was going to field a young 2nd string player team but has now included some better players after the performance against Exeter

What is your prediction?

With that Man United defence and Djemba Djemba in the midfield I think we will be crushed by Chelsea 4-1.

I never bet against United but i think i might have to tonight because this is bs.

Unless the players are injured, they should have to play every game. Thats what they get paid for.

It's obvious that the final score will be 6-4, with Ferreira popping in with the hat trick for Chelsea and Rio Ferdinand scoring all four for the Red Devils. Oh, and the winning goal will go through Carrol's hands. On a throw-in. From his own team.

:D

Should be a good game though, maybe J. Cole can finally lead the way and show the potential we know he has for an entire game this time.

If resting our strongest side means gaining ground on Chelsea in the league, then good. Arsene Wenger would've done the same thing.

Could not care less about the Carling Cup but, I thought United's back four(to my surprise) put in a very good performance against a Chelsea side who fielded a much stronger lineup and a draw was a fair result - even though Saha should've been given a penalty early in the first half, but nevermind. Bookies will probably tip United to win at Old Trafford. Our away support was excellent all night, but then again any club's away support can outsing Chelsea's at Stamford Bridge. Gabriel Heinze is officially Barclays Man of the Match.

I only saw the first half, but I thought it was entertaining. Heinze was awesome, Fletcher did good as well, hardly ever lost posession, Rooney worked hard and is always dangerous. Ronaldo was quite good, but still not really a good end product.

Silvestre really is the crappiest, dumbest defender ever. I do not understand why we still pay him. He should pay Utd, just to be wearing that shirt. He's absolutely awful and couldn't defend if his life depended on it. Also, O'Shae in the centre is just asking for trouble, he's horrendous there.

I wish from now on we'll play our stongest side. I hope Ruud comes back soon, because I hate to see him being 14th or so in the top scorers list.

Chelsea was playing with their first choice players except Robben, but Man U played half of the second string, and still they managed to get a draw, so we have a big chance of going to the final, I expected that Man U wouldn't attack a lot, as there are 2 legs. The same things happen during CL matches

Chelsea played without Robben, Carvalho

United started Dumba-Dumba

think about it, we we're in a waaaaaaaay bigger disadvantadge

Heinze has been superb this season. Phil needs to relearn his crossing man! Rooney was terrific, Ronaldo, Saha, Fletch, O'Shea and Silves were ok...

Howard: was ok till that assist to J Cole... Is "Da Gorilla" ever gonna learn?

Turtlehead Fortune: well... was ok, but I hate his passing

Have you seen the line-ups? Or you were too far in the stadium that it was hard to make out who was who at United? When you spend over 150 million pounds on a team and they can't score a goal against mid/def players like Djemba, Fortune, O'Shea and Silvestre then there is definietly something wrong.

How can we go down a level, when you are the ones that supposed to be ashamed of not being able to put one into the net of a team with players like Djemba in it? YOU are the ones that played with full strength squad, not us. And you should have not even drawn, when Saha was brought down in the area, no way was that a dive, on another hand look at Drogba. The man is like a Makalele 2.

That's very ignorant my friend. I am not talking about Duff diving, i am talking about Drogba diving. And Saha's foul was a clear cut penalty, there is nothing to it. United practically haven't spent one bit compared to Chelsea to get themselves to the top, which it seems a lot of people forget. United didn't get to the top 2-3 years ago, they got there 12-13 years ago. And there are lots of things this "GREAT" club can't do, win the quadruple that's for one. Wait till you get a couple of injuries to your first team squad, then we shall talk about what your Chelsea can do.

The conduct of the top 3 teams really sickens me. It appears every time they play each other it ends in a mass brawl

I blame it on excessive wages, too many players believe they're above the law and they have the divine right to do what they ******* want.

Management also hasn't helped. Managers should be stamping more authority on their players especially the more experienced ones like Ferguson. Did you see Clough's great Forest side of the 80's act like this or the great Liverpool sides? No we didn’t because the players would end up with a clout around the ear hole. Players had much more respect for each other in them days.

It’s about time most premiership players especially in the top 3 teams take a long hard look at themselves.

Where's the sportmanship gone?

Hahahaha, this is the first time in so many years that Chelsea is competing for the title and you are already being cockey and ignorant. What you guys are doing with your transfers is just weakening your opponent, for example Scott Parker, he was doing very well at Athletic, you bought him for nothing. As for
Glenn Johnson he is one of the biggest talents in England, but all you guys are doing is screwing him up. As you wanted Rio, you think that we are stupid to sell him. As for the youngsters at Chelsea they will never get their chance to play in the first team. As for Saha the defender cought his leg, Duff dived, that is the difference, I don't know what Mourinho is whining about the ref, all I saw was that the ref was is most cases against Man U. Saha didn't get is pen, but Duff got his free kick. And we are not proud that we managed a draw, but we are saying that we were mostly playing with a second string team, and you with your first choices AT HOME, and still you couldn't get a goal, O'shea ate your strikers alive, then what would Ferdinand do if he played instead of O'shea. Our away record is also good. You already think that you are the best in the world, in the CL Barca is going to kick your ass, League Cup, Man U, FA CUP you will also get burned, and the season isn't over yet.

If your first team without Robben is not capable of scoring a goal against defensive trio of Djemba, O'Shea and Silvestre, then your reserve team wouldn't even be able to come close. That's what you should be concerned about.

And being a Chelsea supporter and saying that United get referees in their favour is not really smart, even if you are saying that just to wind us up.

That's why you are the only one that brings referees into this. I don't hear any United fans going on about goals that Arsenal scored from offsides for months or clear penalties that teams don't get while playing Chelsea. All i see is you telling about how refs help United. I answer to you to look at yourself and then you say that we whine about it? Tell me when did United fans whine about a decision that wrongly went against them for more than 3 days? You started talking about refs if you already forgot.

BTW we don't whine about not getting a penalty yesterday, the only reason why we say it, is because people like you keep bringing crap like "United divers, United have refs etc." out. Look at your team and never mention referees with United again. All three get decisions going their way, but it seems you remember only decision that go United's way.

I think the refs play a part in this too. EPL has the crappiest refs and they get full support by the FA. They don't command any respect from players and they don't have the balls to take control of the game. That's why big games always end in controversy.

And I don't think Man United should be talking about spending and ref decisions not going their way. Man United broke every British transfer record and they get their fair share of the decisions go their way.

And why are Man U fans happy that they tied Chelsea? Have their level sunk that much? Shouldn't you be disappointed you didn't win regardless of who you put out? Since you're such a big team with loads of money you should be able to field a winning team regardless of injuries.

No see, we don't have a 5 billion valued thief taking control of our affairs. And why shouldn't we be happy with a draw? About injuries, what do you want us to do? Put on Ruud, Giggs, etc. or you want us to get like **** loads of superstars that will be unhappy and then get into big debts like Real?
unlike for Madrid though, the Royal family is not ready to give 500 million pounds for Carrington. United will be always up there fighting, just because in hard times like this when so many teams are in debts, united will always be having enough money to stay at the top, until they start spending like Real.

Personally i don't care whether we win trophies every season or not, all i want is for my team to be among the best and always have people saying "Oh yeah, they are a great team" when you mention the name Manchester United to them.

Well what can I say? Chelsea cheated their way to the final.

Remember 2 years ago? Just after Manchester United won the premiership title? Newcastle United did better than them and do you know why? Because they didn't have a billionaire to buy their success. Roman Abramovic was about to come to Old Trafford and he turned down a move to go to London Club Chelsea.

Chelsea unfairly sacked a decent manager, forced the only guy who saved Chelsea's existance (Ken Bates) and put traitor Peter Kenyon on the f*cking board.

Chelsea are cheating imbecilic bastards, the only reason they have got to where they are is by buying success, they forced decent players out of the club (one e.g: Hassielbaink) due to their big ego, greedyness and their hypocritcal attitudes. They bring in a manager who has just won the biggest prize in europe, then the manager brings all his former players from Poro into Chelsea. Sort of like the whole Harry Redknapp Southampton and Portsmouth saga.

Chelsea are cheaters, if it wasn't for their cosy little setup and little cry baby russian boy with a huge wallet then Chelsea will be lingering at midtable right about now, if they win any titles or trophies from now it's because they bought their way to success, and if that isn't cheating then I do not know what is. I hope Chelsea burn in hell because they do not deserve glory and hope the sooner they realise that the better.

They are as worse as Arsenal...oh no don't bring in the rest of the french squad or buy half of an international team, bring in their whole f*cking fantasy football team. Manchester United have worked hard and fair to get to where they are, 8 titles in 11 seasons, and the first english team to win european cup success in over 20 years. Manchester United are still the best team historically and the thought of Chelsea winning the quadrouble makes me want to burst out laughing.

Glory buyers! If there's one thing you can't buy....it would be building a team the fair way.

Chelsea Premier League (underservably) Champions 2004/2005. Unless the true premier league champions can catch up, remember in the 1995/1996 season when Newcastle were ten points clear of Man Utd, guess who won that season? hmm.....

Why ban? Just live it alone. Who cares. I don't even understand why people argue about this game so much. Yeah ok, we wanted to win and beat Chelsea, due to some personal scores that had to be settled. We didn't win, whatever. Next season will be better for us. It's stupid how much arguments this game created. Look at real united supporters like Shokz. Where is he right now? Probably out there on the streets pimping out with some chicks and he couldn't be more arsed of arguing about who is better after that game. This really makes me laugh. It's not like it was CL semi-final or anything.

You just contradicted yourself... you said before they were buying glory players... yet you have never heard of them>

What a dumbass united supporter.

Banning me would just show that I was right and that you can't take the heat. Anyway, I'm done with my flaming rant.

I just hate it when arsenal and chelsea brag with their big cocky heads. Until anyone overtakes our 8 year triumph then I have the right to say that man utd are the best club in the league historically.

nuff said, I'm going back to my other threads talking about CC2005 for FIFA 2005. Peace Out!

Oh and rhizome17 I was taking the piss out of you before when you said that ferdinand veron and them were 'glory buyings' so therefore I wasn't contradicting myself. Dolt!

Liverpool is actually better historically in the top level. But United totally dominate the EPL.

Don't all team's buy players with the view to achieving a higher level of success on the field?

That is right...but Chelsea's a whole different cattle of fish, spending over 200 million quid on players over the summer of 2003, sacking a world class manager a year later then chucking ken bates out of the board room then taking away his apartment and bring in new board members and a new manager, is what I seriously call desperate for success. It must be like a new world footballing record of how fast can you try to get glory players to your club.

Now the first thing I would do with that money, instead of rushing into a spending spree is improving the stadium. How much capacity has Stamford Bridge got? 30,000? And Man Utd has what? 68,000? By the way that might by wrong but it was a wild estimate. Why not develop the club first as a long term prospect? Instead of trying to bring players in first in a desperate manner?

If chelsea want sucess that bad? that's not really heathy is it?

I can just imagine Peter Kenyon and Mourinhio in the shopping centre, "Peter does drogba look fat on me", then peter whould say, "nahh, he doesn't, ok, throw him into my basket and lets go to the checkout".

You are forgeting that Chelsea doesn't have money. And they don't chose what to do with them. Roman has the money and he doesn't give a crap about what will be with Chelsea after he gets bored of them, like he got bored of his russian club and russian hockey club. He wants immediate success, chelsea board memebers realize that sooner or later, Roman will either be put into jail or get bored of Chelsea and forget about them. That's why they are coming up with all those plans to buy shares away from him.

I know, let's tar and feather him and throw pies into his face and donate all his money to a childrens foundation/charity, heh :-D

In order for a person to own a club that would mean that all the shares would belong to him, what sort of fans are they if they give all their shares to that big russian human bank. Remember our protest, UNITED NOT FOR $ALE!

Human bank? nah you still have to learn a lot about Roman. Russian people are the human bank and Roman is a man that borrows money from that bank, without need to pay back.

Lee: yup the truth is out ;) Only some stupid russian Chelsea fans still don't realise that. Like one group said in the comedy show. Why you get jail time from stealing a car, but get to feast in london from stealing 5 billion dollars?
