They should've just swapped Owen for Moro at the start of the season. It would've saved everyone else all the trouble.

Good Luck Morientes !

This is unfortunate.
I rate Morientes. He's a great player, I've always admired his ability.

But now he's a scouser. I wish the deal doesn't go through.
It's sad he's going to play for Pool.

Definately not surprised about this move. I'm just surprised he went back to Real after leaving Monaco.

It will be very interesting to see how Moro does in the EPL. I think he will do great. But I wonder who will be benched when Cisse and Baros return.

Im a Man Utd fan but im not ashamed to admit Morientes is a world class player, i hear people saying he will take time to adapt in the Premier League, but he had a year in Monaco and id say the French league is quite similar to the Premier league, and he wont have too many problems. I enjoy watching him play, and wont dislike or give any unncessesary criticism to the guy just because he plays for Liverpool and im a Man Utd fan. Good buy from Liverpool. What about Mellor and Pongolle now?

yoyo913
13-01-2005, 05:46:AM
I'm so glad Moro left Real, he should have done it earlier... now he can get the opportunity he deserves.

Pongolle will be at the club for a long time yet. But with Morientes coming into the club, its hard to see where Mellor will get his oppertunity. Even this season. With Baros/Pongolle/Morientes to be rotated through and with Cisse coming back from injury next season you;d think he'd most likely be sold at seasons end.

AberdeenFC
13-01-2005, 06:08:AM
mellors never gonna make it as a top player in the premiership, but its good to have someone like him that gets in about defenders and certainly knows where the target is, to be honest ide rather we kept mellor than pongolle.

also, does anyone else think nunez is crap? (H) hopefully he'll improve but i really doubt it :monkey:

" :monkey: " is making a comeback!

I prefer Pongolle he is what 20? he is fast he has good technic a couple of years and he will be great.

I feel bad for Moro, because he really wanted to play at Madrid, but they never gave him the chance, specially after such a great yr in Monaco last season.

Owen cost £10 million right? Moro cost £10, That means Real traded in Owen for Moro + 4 million.

All the best of luck to 'El Moro' and I hope he succeeds at 'Pool. And yes Nunez does suck for whoever asked. Morientes will give them an extra dimension up front (Y) and should help take them up the table

I know it sounds stupid. Keep in mind that Owen's style suit our team better with Raul never being beched during his horrid form(where I believe Morientes would have succeeded)

I believe that it is a plan that Florentino, Butragueño, and Sacchi are worknig on to be able to get Steven Gerrard.

I know it sounds crazy all you 'pool fans but we gave you want you guys needed, now how about retrning the favour this summer. (H)

Again I wish Fernando the best of luck for the Reds

Not a chance. Gerrard is one of the best midfielders in Europe. He is crucial to our chances of success in England and we would not sell him at any cost.
