And i Supported ManU since i watched English Football...Then 2004 Summer Pool...Man that's so Bull****.(H)
I betrayed ManU...Maybe this Summer all is ok... I only will look till Summer German Football, and then i'll look.:)
JFG_Lancer 13-01-2005, 05:20:PM Why no love for lazio?
Maybe because they suck, perhaps
But i was a big Cadiz fan before they lost all their good players and fell apart now for the last 7 years i have been a Madrid Fan

Personally, I've ALWAYS LOVED Universitario of Peru. That's because of my father and many family members. I was born a Universitario fan... I really had no choice then. But now looking bad, I realize that I really DO LOVE Universitario because it has been part of my life. I mean, not that Universitario is "small" club.. actually they're a big club in Peru, with millions of fans (literaly). But still, not many people around the world know about them, and that doesnt bother me. And that doesn't mean I have to find a "NAME" club to love that people know about.
Anyways, before you love anything else, you should LOVE yourself. ;)

Vinnie Jones 13-01-2005, 09:05:PM In Portugal we have a saying that you can change wife, political party, life style but never a football club. Itīs hard for me to understand how you can stop supporting a club and change your preferences to the rival.
I understand that in some countries the level of the football competitions is very low and that the motivation to support the national clubs is non existent. Because of that, itīs understandable that you "adopt" a foreign country to be target of your football afections. Changing it ,constantly, according to their success isnīt.
I support a hometown/national club. Because of family influence and because iīve been following the club since im a kid and since i developed a conscience. I feel indentified with the club, pay my monthly associate fee and go to the stadium ocasionally when i have a chance. I could never change club even if it isnt a very sucessfull one and the only way you can gloat about it, itīs when you win your regional derbies. Even so i could never change my preferences and start supporting another club.
Other then that, i admit that i sympathize with some foreign clubs. Not because of their success but because they have countrymen in their ranks. I wish them all the success and i enjoy when they achieve status abroad and represent my country adequatly but i just sympathize with their clubs. I could never support their clubs the same way i support my hometown/national club.

RONG.
Anyone who picks a team for success is bad enough, but then to switch teams (to another successful one, no less) is TERRIBLE. Saudi, Australia, England: it doesn't matter. Choose a team (because of geography, family, colours, success if you must) and stick to them.
Help? 14-01-2005, 04:07:AM I started supporting United 7 years ago, or should i say, i started supporting Beckham 7 years ago, when i started watching soccer for the first time on tv. United were the only team i saw all the time and it was a lot safer to support them, rather than any of the local teams. I am sure you heard about what happens to little kids with scarfs of their local teams in former USSR countries.
So after 2-3 years, i just couldn't switch a team anymore, no matter to who, even when Beckham left, i didn't really care. It's my tv's fault that i support a team, which i never saw in reality, however living in Canada now and monthly buying their magazines, merchandise and shirts is the most i can give to them at the age of 16 and i know that that money i spend every year will help them. Now it feels like i was born in the wrong country and that really i should have been from Manchster.
BTW i have a lot of friends that don't really support any team really strong, but they all liked United before the treble season, after that, so many more people started talking about them, so they all switched teams and now i am stuck with my best friends that like Liverpool, Leeds, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Chelsea(the guy supports them only because Roman is russian, what an idiot, he is the one suffering from Roman and doesn't realize it) and Barcelona. Whenever i visit them in summer, we all start big arguments and then try to settle everything in a ISS tournaments, so it's not so bad.

Vagegast 14-01-2005, 06:07:AM I used to support PSV before I converted to Judaism.
Feyenoord. Everything else is just so boring. And there's hope in our team, which makes me feel better. UEFA 2002 anyone? We "might" repeat it this year.
Oh and Song, the Korean guy, was sent home sold. I'll miss him, but now that I think of it, it wasn't much of him that had me feeling attached to the clubs; many other class qualities like Farfan being booed off the pitch (the video (H)) and the old days where van Persie came out from the youth squad to play with Hoojidonk.
I sure hope that talentless Gullit is fired by end of this year. Our league position seems like the perfect reason to address and support that, and if that's what the club has to give up in order to get rid of Gullit, so be it. (H)
And the infamous "sssssssssssssss"..... I'm sorry, I truly am. Just think of it as hating a mascot. Like if I were to hate the Detroit Tigers, I sure would hate its mascot, but I would never be segregating the rest of the REAL tigers in the world, I swear.:(
Anyway, BRING BACK BERT!! :(

That was beautiful. (Y)
He's right. Once I got really emotional watching "Racing" win the Argentine Title (for first time in like 45 years) and I thought that i would get attached to them (as a second team) but years later and I can barely care if they win anymore.
Now I was born with my team (Nacional of Uruguay) and unlike PEruytu , Im really proud that my team is viewed worldwide as a historic world elite. Even in Africa and Japan they know who we are and our players. (also in the "Triple World Champion") <okok....ill stop gloating......getting off topic> :)
But the thing is that I believe you can have your original club but also be a ttached to another (not in a "Glory hunter way either"
IE: Like the Japanese man who came to Argentina 10 years ago (already loved soccer) and now is a freaken FANATIC (in a "cries every game and painted his house of the team's colours) after falling in love and being accepted to the city of Rosario (its Rosario Central that he loves...by the way)
Like I might move to Europe one day and still be of my team but also fall for "Villa Real" or Yokohama Marinos (if I go to Japan)
Your first club is yourself.........(you cant change who you are unless you do so you can have success..... because your really shallow )
Your other clubs are like women....you can fall in and out of love with them......and even check up on them once in a while (if you ever had a short stint in Europe or something in that city)...just like women :)
Just a little analogy I just made up.
Anyways......as for LOVE.....(and I mean real Love) is the Uruguayan national team. Ive lived in over 5 cities worldwide and I always feel like they are right beside me. I literally would rather die than abandon Uruguay ever. (Know its wierd but there are cases where Brazil goes to a country (that probably sucks)...and the people cheer for Brazil.
anyways im out

Your right the 6ers series was amazing. Iverson gets like a career high in game 3....then Carter does it in game 4. Amazing ending too.
