I have to say that I have a new found appreciation for the guys like Russian Rocket and Neutral who have played over 10 seasons in one game. When it comes to CM I can barley win a game much less build up a super power team from scratch. I have one good defensive tactic that has worked well so I get atleast 0-0 draws. It is a two sweeper formation where I have two sweepers and two marking backs. It has worked pretty well for about 4 or 5 games.

Also does anyone know what happens to Arsenal reserve team stand out Omer Riza in about 10 years? At age 19 he already has a rate of 20 at finishing, seems to be a good buy to me, tell me how he has done, please!

I am currently in the 2006 season and I haven't heard anything about him...

Sorry Nimreitz, he never really becomes a star in my game. Matthew Upson, on the other hand, becomes the linchpin of the new England defence - he's in his 30s in my game and still amazing!

Perhaps another picture ? Is there a way I could encode it into another format in case it is a proprietary format for the game ?

? That's wierd, there are a ton of different background pictures - of stadia, players and coaches. Play around with the settings I think you can select to change the background pictures.

TekNoS, is it a "liberated" version? Because i have the same thing, all I can see is that pic of Solskjaer sliding on his knees. I set it to rotate pics, but nothing happens. Oh well

Well Teknos, the only version of CM that has that problem is the ILLEGAL warez copy.

Find a program called piced.exe in your default ILLEGAL Championship Manager directory and open it. That should be able to manage the RGN files.

If people like you don't stop ripping off decent software companies then we won't have NICE games like CM. We'll be stuck with the Paki store tac (pardon the expression) that EA produces.

All I have to say is F*ck you. If you actually attempt to admit that all the applications that you are running on your computer were bought by your "hard-earned" money, you would be lying. Especially since you claim to be a college student, where the piracy rates are highest in the country, since you most likely have access to T1 and T3 lines. I use warez to try out games in case I want to buy them.

I don't want another disappointment like MS International Soccer 2000 again. I blew $25 of my money that could have been spent buying Resident Evil 2 instead. Besides, I've only played that copy of CM 99/00 twice.

Well, another thing I learned through 30 seasons of my career -- buy players not only with good ratings, but with good stats in other teams.


There was a player in second division who was scoring about 40 goals per season. When I looked on his ratings -- they did not impress me, because I've seen a lt better players in second division. So, I bought him (his name won't tell you anything because he was born in 2007 http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif). And in first division he scored moe goals than any of my players.


He was like Michael Duff in my game -- Duff's ratings weren't good, but he was getting an average 8.00 in the Premiership.

So, the past times I just bought the best players from the lower division than me.

About Solksaer on the background: if you have CM 3, where there were a lot of pictures, copy all *rgn files to CM 99/00 directory in a folder called "pictures". than play with settings for a while and you should get your background pictures..
