hey i've just found out that u can cr8 urself as a manager...even ur appearance...and sometimes in cutscenses u can see urself walking in the sideline with emotions etc.

The game is the same as fifa 2005

the quality of the manager is very good

I am losing my faith in EA. I have been consistently buying their FIFA series since 99' and lately I am losing my patience. I don't understand how they can have such a huge list of "features" that I can't even find in the game. I am not a PES fanboy or flamer, but I must say that the gameplay doesn't even touch it.

The presentation in this game is amazing. However, gameplay is just the same of 05. Huge complaint of mine in FIFA's: counter attacks! I was playing today and whenever I intercept the ball or get control back I can never have a realistic counter attack. Players always catch up and the players run with no urgency.

I'm running out of patience. I am scared that EA will take over the sports industry and give us mediocre games for 50 bucks every half year.

If only SEGA sports made soccer games...Soccer (or the REAL football) is my favorite sport but for anyone who's played ESPN NFL2K5, it is the perfect blend of amazing graphics and top notch gameplay.

Pros:
1. UEFA CL Style Menus
2. UEFA CL anthem
3. UEFA CL Intro video, just like before every real UCL match.
4. Different unlockables avaliable

Cons:
1. No Play Now mode avaliable
2. Only one team is avaliable to use for the Season Mode (Chelsea)
3. EA Talk Radio is :sb9: There should be a volume control for it...
4. Slow reaction to the pressing of buttons on the keyboard
5. Corner and free kick system has changed (so much so that i cant choose what kind of kick i want to utlise) there should be a tutorial for this new system for the demo.
6. The black band at the top and bottom of the screen, i feel like i'm watching an interactive DVD :mrpimp: which is very arcadish imo.
7. No settings choice.
8. Only half of the QF is avaliable, this is just like the half-a-match thing we had with previous FIFA/Football Competition Games demos.
9. Pt 9, Instead of hearing some music that we're used to in the menus, when we start the Season, we hear "EA Talk Radio is under your control... Blah blah blah... then... CALLER YOU"RE ON NOW!!! Errh urrgh, i think referees are stupid, they are appauling they are this... blah blah blah...":rolleyes: And des it stop after you've presesed advance, to exit from that screen... Nooo :rolleyes:

Well i'm going to download it tonight, because me fvckin Internet downloading speed is **** slow for some reason it's going and Dial up speed when it's supposed to 100k. :(

Is there any sub animations ?

Its an improvement on Fifa 2005 thats for sure i could tell instantly the things that have improved it. The defence is further up the field nearer to the midfield, also moves backwards as your oponent is attacking and midfield gets into better defensive positions and attacking positions. Crossings a bit tougher, off the ball isnt as quick and fluent making it a better system overall, through balls are a touch higher off the ground and a bit more realistic for intercepting them better. Corners and free kicks are more in depth and a whole lot better system which will obviously take some getting used to. Intros are good and the cut scenes when the ball goes out for throw ins show the last chances on goal replays or the actual goal replays which is pretty cool. Keepers however dont seem no different to me so dunno what exactly theyve done to them really and the shooting is pretty much as fifa. I actually liked the new bar at the bottom it was more easier to see the power up bar and if theres no radar in the game its gonna make it a lot more realistic. Overall a great improvement on Fifa 2005 with this probably being how they wanted that to actually turn out. :)

I really like the game! It's not so much diffrent from fifa 05, but it's enough. They've improved important stuff like the crossing, set pieces and freestyle moves. Now you can actually get past a defender with a nice overstep move.

is the game really scripted still then? do the goal keepers still pull off superman saves?

I agree completely with "stonecold_jpm" This is waaaaaay better than FIFA2005. I also like the EA talk radio and the widescreen view. The gameplay still needs some work, but it's way better than any other FIFA for sure.

fifa is scripted since very beginning...

umm sorry to some of you guys but the demo is atrocious :S

its nicely presented and the video is great etc...
but im sick of saying that, cuz its what fifa is like every year , i want good gameplay . i needed to pinch myself in the demo that i wasent playing an ice skating game,cuz the player movement is awful.
and with ea talk radio.. i dont understand. will there b a jukebox + radio playin at the same time ? wots the point ?

i like the presentation a lot, i think the crowd looked good, i like the manager thing but the game still needs improvement in the gameplay.

i think that this game is better than fifa 2005 but i don't like
16:9 mode(!) and there is no RADAR. i will never buy it if in the full version EA Will not solve them

Don't know what your talking TN, EA sports radio is great adds a touch of reality, the manager is also impressive, the gameplay has kinda improved with the FK and the corners, now anythings possible with corners and FK's it's not scripted. Very good game and good job to EA, IMO this beats RTWC 98. :)

I have nothing to add to that, especially the EA talk radio is complete crap

The game is a pile of s.hit - those black bars are enough to wreak the game... FIFA 2005 is much better

wens the full version come out ?? lol i just stumbled accross this demo like 5 mins ago , had no idea it was out :O , been playin to much pes4 havent chekd local fifa sites. Might give it ago after the chelsea game.

I've just played it and though it run smoothly den FIFA 05 on my machine..it is sad to say that it is far from what i've expected..7/10..

not what i expected but they kinda fixed the shooting problems i had with fifa 2005

hey bunny the free kick system is easy remember the fifa 05 options and do them that's what i did

its out 4rd feburary i think.. do the keepers come off there lines when a player runs through on to goal.

First off... Yes it,s a DEMO which means that you are Not going to witness most of the full game options
( unless some clever s*d makes a few patches ) Cheers for that.. :rockman:

Second ... I can,t believe the amount of ppl who can,t instantly spot the improvements in gameplay, over Fifa.
Also, for those who feel the need to moan about the black bars .. "Get A Life", as after playing for a couple of minutes you forget theyre there.

Next ... After reading RobbieD,s list of Cons, i have come to the conclusion that you are a p***k. ( sorry mate )
But half of your gripes are actualy available in the full version...
EA Talk Radio, Does p**s you off after a while, but you can just skip it...
As for a Tutorial for the New Set- Pieces ... Well how about using a bit of common sense, mate. Or learn to play football ...
It gives you, on-screen options on the Corners, and the Indirect FK,s aren,t really Rocket science, are they? ...

I apologize for coming out Blazing on my first post, but i only came on this forum to download the UCL Demo,
but after reading some of the rediculous comments on the game, i just had to register and give my 2 cents.

Back to Topic ...
I do actualy think it,s a good game... The gameplay seems slightly better than Fifa,s...
The player positioning & movement is more Realistic, even the ball physics appear to be improved...
You can actualy take a player on now, and it,s good to see that they,ve made shooting a bit more of a challenge...
Oh and the Advantage Rule was a must have, really...

You finaly appear to have full control over your players actions, and the general gameplay seems to have a bit of a PES feel to it.
But still remains to play like a Fifa game ( If that makes any sense )
I,m just happy that EA have finaly decided to make the effort and try to head their game in the right direction.

The game isn,t perfect by no meens, but with a few bits of tidying up and tweeks... I feel that Fifa 2006 could be Amazing.
But thats Another thread ... LOL;)

Edit: I have now found how to use the new kick system, For Corners:

W A S D are your choices for player placement in the box

For Free Kicks,

A is Driven
S is Short
D is Shoot with your aim being to have enough power so that it stays in the red zone of the power meter

The Corner system is alot more realistic than previous fifa's anything is possible, i haven't got one corner on target. :(

hehe......same here...it's very tough and realistic :)

being a PES fan myself, i think this game is a definate improvement over fifa 2005. It feals a bit more free, and i think they've done a good job.

honestly i still think it needs a lot of catching up to do if it they want to get on terms with PES but its another step in the right direction. This game is a lot better, and after only a few games i think that it is much better than 2005. I still dont think that i'll buy it though.

The UEFA 04-05 it is a promise of one of the best games of EA

actually, up until a year ago i used to play fifa non-stop.
that kind of changed when i bought we7.

It feals like you have more control over the players in this game as opposed to even 05. but i still think it has got a lot of catching up to do. I hope the same team makes fifa 2006, because they are definately improving the game.
