I was just wondering, if either Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man U won the Champs League, would 5th place then be given a qualification route to the CL as winning it guarantees u a place in the CL nxt season? Because I remember that happened with the uefa cup when Liverpool won it, They gave the spot to 8th team because we qualified 4 the CL.

Would the same thing apply? Or is 4 the max?

What if Inter wins the CL this season, and finish 6th in Serie A. And Roma, Udinese, Milan and Juve are the top 4.

Inter, as the defending champs get automatic berth, as do top 3, so what happens with 4th place team?

Something similar to this happend a couple of years ago with Zaragoza. They finished in the top 4 of La Liga, but were forced to play in the UEFA Cup 'cause Madrid won the CL, despite finishing in 5th.

Inter go through with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 4th place plays the UEFA Cup.

yeah guys on this topic the only reason why liverpool gave the spot up was because they had already qualified for the UCL. so of coarse they dont want to go to the UEFA CUP (where the winner of the cup goes). therefore the best team to give it to was the team that finished 2nd in the FA CUP. if that team was the 8th team then that is fine!!
