HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RIGHT!!! RIVALDO TRANSFERED TO LAZIO!!! HAHAHAHAH!! First Figo to ManU now this. What next, Beckham to AIK Solna?? There are two things wrong with this comical statement ....

1. If it were true ... why is Rivaldo in Brasil and not Rome.

2. 20 million american dollars?? for Rivaldo?? That fee cannot buy his right foot, what do you think his left foot is going to cost??

Can we please stop with these "phantom" transfer rumours. Rivaldo said that he is not going to leave Barca and Nunez right now has no power with the Barca faithful or Board of Directors. Any transfers will have to be made when the new President is elected in July. So until then, keep the Barca rumours to a minimum, or at least until there is a press conference with Rivaldo in Rome sitting next to the president of Lazio.

BTW .... I did not see this mysterious article of yours.

It was on that site but as a rumor, it was not a fact. Please when you guys talk about trensfers make sure thay are official. Any one on any site can make fantom transfers. And fifaearth that site mentioned it was a posibility not a fact.

I agree with Woody, 20 million US, is approx 11 million pounds - probably enough to buy his right leg, but I think both legs would be more useful. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

If now Rivaldo would go to Lazio, yes the fee will probably be higher.

But it's no joke the he is beeing linked to Lazio, not at all...

AND WOODY!!! What's wrong with AIK!! http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Even though I'm not a fan of AIK, ( HEJA ÖSK !! ) I don't think Beckham could get a regular spot in the first 11.. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ah Lazio set to buy Rivaldo .That is so pathetic ,Lazio should move to South America considering that they have only 4 italian players in the whole team, the coach is not even italian for god sakes ,i just wish they get relegetaed next season even if thats unlikely to happen .

Paolo_Rossi,

Lazio are a great team! When Claudio Lopez and Rivaldo are added to a squad with Inzaghi, Veron, Mihajlovic and Boksic, you have one helluva team! It would be great if Vieri would resign with Lazio.

Next season Lazio will win the Serie A again, but they will also win the Champions League!!!!!

Rivaldo happy to stay at Barcelona
BARCELONA, June 2 (Reuters) - Barcelona's Brazilian forward Rivaldo has pledged his future to the Catalan club -- if they decide they want to keep him.

Rivaldo has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou, following a difficult season that saw him clash with former coach Louis van Gaal and struggle for the form that saw him named World and European Player of the Year.

Lazio were reported to be leading the chase for a player valued at around $50 million but Rivaldo insisted: ``If Barcelona want me in the team then I'll stay.''

Rivaldo, who despite his star status is not among the highest-paid players at Barcelona, was told by club president Josep Lluis Nunez last season to forget about renegotiating his contract.

But the departure of both Nunez and van Gaal, who announced their resignations within a few days of one another last month, could open the door to a better deal for the player, whose contract expires in 2002.

``I'll wait to see who is the new president and I'll sit down with him and reach an agreement,'' said Rivaldo, who was speaking from Brazil in an interview with Barcelona-based newspaper Sport published on Friday.

``I love the club and the city and if it's up to me I'll stay forever. I've had three fantastic years in Barcelona and I and my family are settled here.''

He added: ``I've not signed anything with any club. My priority has always been to stay at Barcelona.''

ARGUMENT SETTLED ;0) I've always wanted to say that...LoL

Hey
On the site I found the news that Rivaldo has sogned by Laziom i was reading this:
''Rivaldo has told Spanish daily 'Marca' that he does not know which club he will play for next season.

The Brazilian star is in dispute with FC Barcelona over the contract he signed when joining Barca from Deportivo La Coruna in 1997. Rivaldo and his agents have tried to get a pay rise from his club since last summer but talks are not producing any outcome while the Catalan club looks for a new president following the resignation of president Josep Lluis Nunez last month and the loss of coach Louis van Gaal.

Rivaldo tells 'Marca' that his future at the club is to be decided by the new president and new coach when they appointed.

The forward has two years left on his contract with Barca but Italian champions SS Lazio are ready to bid £32 million in a world record deal to sign the Brazilian this summer.''

You say that no big teams have italian players ?Well your wrong my friend.Juventus have more than half of team of italian players .Juventus have the most players playing for the national team than any club and Lazio has only 2 to a possible 4 ,thats if they pick inzaghi and pancaro .The only italians have are old italians who will be shipped in england soon(Marchegiani,Lombardo and ravanelli). They dont even use simone inzaghi who has saved Lazio numereous times ,instead they let that overrated oaf Salas take his place ,Pathetic.

Tell me something Paolo- Rossi. In a full healthy Jueventus, since you mentioned it. How many Italians would be in the starting lineup? I remember champions leauge quarterfinal of 98-99. Olympiakos-Juventus. I'm sitting with my friends to watch the match, we saw the staring lineup Juve fielded, heck we said were not playing an Italian team, only 2 Italians were in that lineup. Now your telling me that Juve has signed about 10 Italian players in the past couple of days. I ask you. Are they ever going to play? Most likely the will be shipped to the smaller market teams on loan, none of them are going to crack the starting 11. What about Lazio and Inter. How many italians play on those teams? Hm. Just went to the Inter web site, They list 22 active players. 11 are foreingers. If it wasn't for the 3 Italian goal keepers it would be much worse. Only Vieri and Di Baggio is a starter and sometimes Baggio. As far as Lazio. Not much to say, thay can say they have Lombardo and Ravanelli. Listen these players were excellent in there time and some still are. But an end has to come to this foreigner thing. A limit must be implemented.

Juventus dont put their best players in cup matches(Example:Juve vs celta vigo ,Juve didnt even put Zidane in the lineup and they had backups like Tudor,Birindelli,Kovacevic and Conte). If u follow serie a ,you should know that their regular starters(Italian players) are:Iuliano,Ferrara,Pessotto(only when Montero is not playing),Tacchinardi,Zambrotta,Inzaghi,Del Piero .Thats 7 of the starting 11 .Like I said ,they normally dont put their best players in cup matches ,if u dont beleive me ,i suggest you watch Juve's serie A games of this past season .

So what your telling me is that Juventus best players are the italians and the foreigners are the backup squad? Hmmmm, interesting, anyone else has something to say on that. You didn't mention anything about Lazio or Inter on that mater.

Paolo_Rossi
03-06-2000, 11:36:PM
All im saying is that serie a is a league that suppose to promote italian players ,im not saying that there shouldnt be any foreigners but they should put a limit .Why do u think the national team sucks at this moment .25 years ago serie A teams were banned to buy any foreigner ,because of that ,the national team went in the world cup finals in 1970 ,finnishing 4th in 1978 and 1982 won the world cup(1 or 2 years after they let teams buy foreigners ) .If the president of serie A doesnt do anything ,Italy will be weaker like they were in the 1950's .

So we agree on it. A limit should be imposed in all of Europe regarding foreign players. This will do good for all the leauges and national teams. But you see this will never happen cause UEFA is milking us. There product Champions leauge is a cash cow and it's all do to the diversity of players.
