Arsenal Reserves 4 - 1 Nial Quinn.

Player Ratings:

Petit > 10
Vieira > 9
Keown > 8
Suker > 8
Dixon > 7
Quinn > 7

Sorry Henry fans but his clueless stupidity canceled out his good patches > 5.

Gunners fire a warning shot before they do their characteristic unbeaten run to the title!
Just immagine the carnage if we had:
Bergkamp
Adams
Overmars
Kanu
Grimandi

Ok, so we lost to the better team on the day no denying that. But I definitely wouldn't say Arsenal were understrength. They might have been missing the players you mentioned below but they had some superb players to take their place. And how can you say that Henry was worth only 5. Man of the Match IMHO and has the class to become a legend. Can't say I enjoyed watching Arsenal run rings around our defence but I'd love to see them beat United next week.

Legends need the crowd to like them more than they need skills...

Wait till we play Man utd, then you can call it an understrength arsenal side.
And as well as Arsenal played, I can't help but feel Sunderland were woeful in defense.
Henry didn't play that bad Goonerbhoy, it's probably his best game to date.
Who's gonna be in the starting XI against united ?? I'd say the following :
Seaman
Silvinho
Keown
Adams
Dixon
Maltz
Petit
Vieira
Parlour
Ljungberg
Henry
I actually wish Arsene would play Barret upfront, give the youngster a decent chance.

Man Utd might still be recovering from the World Club Championship, so Arsenal so take immediate control of the game and let it slip away.

I hope Bergkamp returns real soon again and Overmars too!!

I don`t hate Henry, i just thnk he`s ****. It`s like he`s never played before, he just can`t read the game. And he doesn`t have the ability to be an arsenal player that`s for sure. True he will be ion all the highlights of the game but they won`t show the mistakes he makes. The only reason he`s in the side is because Wenger doesn`t wan`t to admit that he has wasted 11 million.

Kewell,
Bergkamp

Polish,
Bergkamp is out injured.

Canoe,
Seaman
Winterburn
Keown
Adams
Dixon
Ljungberg
Petit
Vieira
Parlour
Suker
Henry
Silvinho is good but he`s no Nutter.
Hope Bergkamp and Overmars are Back in time

hmm...

I have to say Goonerbhoy that I can't see what is so bad about Henry.
I have a bit of a soft spot for Arsenal and I have to say that lately he has been brilliant for Arsenal in the absence of Bergkamp.

True, he was pretty useless at the start of the season but he has really settled down now. You were right about him not being able to read the game but that was earlier on. I read an article where he was watching Arsenal play a testimonial for Lee Dixon against Real Madrid and Ian Wright was playing. Keown told Henry to watch Wright's movement off the ball and Henry said it was a great learning experience for him. After that article he started to play a lot better so it must have worked.

Give him time and he'll be one of the best players in the prem. Next to Super Kevin Phillips of course... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

I just want to remind you that Suker is no substitute - WC98 golden boot.
His goal against Sunderland is just a reminder of his abilities.

Goonerbhoy, in my books Suker is suspended for that game, hence we're only left with Henry with Bergie and Overmars out injured. And it's doubtful that Wenger will play young Barret for the full match so it's gotta be Ljungberg upfront. But just maybe we put in a good performance against Leicester and Barret can come on earlier than usual and get some match experience.
I agree Silvinho ain't no Nutter, especially defensively, but I feel with Maltz on the wing we probably don't need as much cover as when Overmars is playing, and can definitely do with Silvinho running rings round Neville and Beckham.

And on the Henry situation, he's definitely starting to grow on me, he's starting to show some promise, but Goonerbhoy is right in that Henry does make a lot of judgement and especially control errors that makes him look almost amateurish at times. But I'd rather have him than the brat anelka, at least Henry is trying, and looks happy when scoring.

BBB - right on, Suker has undoubtedly the best foot in the business, he can work such magic with that left foot and that goal against sunderland was just a showing of his capabilities. And it makes you wonder if he had a half decent right foot to go with it what kind of striking god he would've been.

BBB,
who were you talking to?

Canoe,
I didn`t know Suker was suspended, man that`s going to be some lineup.

I`d like to see Barret get a decent run as well.

PS: i just read that Adams picked up an injury and should be out for the next 2 weeks.

You think our Lineup for the Manu game will be bad, what about tonight in the cup against leister?
