ok, here goes, in ops2( official playstation 2 magazine), they gave fifa 05 an overall score of 8 out of 10( a bronze). which is decent, and quite good.
it went:
graphics 9 stunning, apart from the odd replay jitter
sound 8 excellant commentary and soundtrack
gameplay 8 so close, but those free kicks need work
lifespan 8 15 years? that's an awful lot of McCoist
and then, i check this months magazine, and i found the uefa champions league 2004-2005 review, and, it gave:
graphics 6 how did they make fifa look so bad?
sound 7 really great commentry. rubbish crouds.
gameplay 5 accessible but ultimately sluggish and dull
lifespan 7 plenty to do in season mode
overall 6 out of ten.
do you agree? they say that the new free kicks are, and this is a quote:
we might be wrong, but we're sure this isn't the view through beckham's peepers. it all makes sense, but it feels like we're in an amusement arcade.
and, next to a picture of the new freekicks, its says: even if you do score, you hardly feel responsible.
and the corners:
it hardly seems like you're involved at all here, with the game forcing you to choose your attack so clinically. it's like asking danny murphy (charlton) to cross while blindfolded.
but, do you agree with this, are they being tight? or spot on, you decide.

Hi

Can you post all the magazine review? Please because that's complete wrong. If EA don't know about soccer, this magazine is far away of soccer. :f***:

Hope you can post the whole review please

Regards

Juan Jose

Obviously the 2nd review was written by a PES Fan ....:f***:
As for the new Free Kick system ... Well it makes more sense than the PES system, anyway.
Scoring ... Well what can you say... Scorings, Scoring. Regardless of the game.

End of the day, we are talking about a video game. A simulation.
Nothings going to compare to scoring a goal, when playing the game for real.
I think the games pretty good, and the gameplay & Set-Piece improvements have made a difference, imo..

I saw review on gamer tv. They say that corners are still very scripted!! Said it is too much like FIFA 2005 and if you have FIFA 2005 its not worth the money.

I agree about the graphics, they have gone backwards. Those ******* FIFA 2004 shadows are back (the sharp lines on the legs for example) and it looks still blurry. The crowds look still very bad too, way to fake.

That's absolutely ridiculous. The corners are much less scripted, almost anything can happen

I am not agree too, because this game is less scripted. Thats so false because you can play the demo and is less scripted that Fifa 2005. Bad reviews.

please be a little partial. Not a PES Fan or a Fifa hater.

gamer tv were saying headers always seem to go over the bar on corners.

i read PC Zone's review today..

they gave it 76%. Fifa 2005 was scored at 60%

they actually like Uefa CL, say that shooting has improved, tackling is a lot better and the gamplay alot better. they say that you know actually have to play football when trying to score goals.

one bad thing they noted about mission mode was that they played a practise match vs the reserves and lost. the chairman then demanded that they sell 3 first team players. thats just crazy!!

I won and I had to sell 3 first team players. You have to do that no matter what after the practice match :p
