I don't know if Im a minority in this, but I like the atmospher that the announcers add to the game. But in 2005 the announcers don't mention the team names. In previous versions they would at least use the names of the EPL teams. I remember when I would play Arsenal as Man U. they would mention it by name and call it a clash of the titans (might have been 2003). Did they lose this for the sake of player names and overall space-saving purposes? It seems kind of cheap to not mention the teams; kind of generic.

for many of the big teams that i have played with in Fifa 2005 the announcers do mention the names as they had in the previous game.... in that area there is no change with the exception of the announces mentioning the names of some new players but EA should really consider the addition of names of goalkeepers after they make saves rather than saying that was a marvelous save, etc.

That's wierd! :o In my game they never mention them. Is there any setting I may have unchecked or something? Does anyone else have this problem?

Something that's also get on my nerves is when playing a frindley... they don't go out of their way to state what an uninportant game it is you are about to play.... SHUT THE F... UP!!

I do remember in 2003...the announcers will even call the names of the stadiums once in a while like..."Welcome to Old Trafford,the home of Manchester United". I loved it but it hasnt continued in the future games.But they do call the clubs names in the midst of the game and thats good. I agree with mentioning the keepers name as well.It would be gr8.

fifa 99 was the king of all fifa games ive had in commentary. there would be a little announcer right at the start and he would go "well, here we are, Liverpool versus Tottenham, and lets go the the commentators John Motson and the other guy"

and Motson would say stuff like "Great save by Schmeichel/Seamen/etc"

Using your imagination is all you can do (if you want to play a CL final), because EA sure as hell doesn’t use theirs!

It was fun... even with FIFA 2003 (where an International tournament was still available)...
