Notts County today announced that Mark Stallard will be returning to Meadow Lane on loan from Barnsley to the end of the season.

Great news for all 'Pies, the legend will be in the squad for tommorows derby match vs Mansfield.

Notts are not doing very well on the pitch at the moment I'm afraid, bottom half of League 2 (division 3). Got rid of all debts, but we will probably still lose some money this year, though financially it's definatly looking a lot brighter this year.

Hopefully Stallards' return will be a boost for the club, and help us get away from the bottom half. We've got quite a decent squad, thing is, they only play when they feel like it. They were excellent vs Swindon (Fa Cup, beat them 2-0 at home) and against M'boro (lost 2-1) and two weeks ago we beat then league leaders S****horpe 2-0. The following week we lost 5-0 at home to Macclesfield, pretty much sums it up.

Hoping for a win tommorow, always nice to beat the inbreds.

I saw Lincoln beat Mansfield last Saturday and from what i saw Mansfield looked really poor. However you've been very inconsistent in the league of late too so it should be a good derby. Good to see Stallard's back, he has a great natural finishing ability, why did you let him go on loan anyway? was it due to the strain on finances?

Carlton Palmer has managed to fúck up their squad quite nicely, they were a good side when they hammered us earlier this season, now they look like they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. Bring them on!

I might have put it wrong in the first post, anyway, we didn't let him go on a loan, we're loaning him now :). he went to Barnsley when his contract came to an end, club had to get rid of som of the high earners. He wanted to stay but manager Mills (at the the time) decided he needed money to spend on other players.

Our two main strikers Gavin Gordon and Glynn Hurst have been very inconsistent (like the rest of the team) so Stallard should be a great addition.

It's not very common with players who care about anything else than money these days, but Stallard genuinely love Notts and we love him :)

Dissapointing one-nill loss to Mansfield today. Stallard had a good game according to Colin Slater (radio pundit). We didn't create much up front, neither did they, got a soft goal following a free kick. Notts havn't scored for 3 games now, need to get going to avoid being dragged in to the relegation battle.

Nothing has happened since tuesday really. Stallard looks to be fit for the match tommorow. Will be interesting to see who Ian Richardson will play with him up front. Glynn Hurst has been shocking the past 4 or so games, but he is our top scorer. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shaun Harrad or Matty Williams next to Stall in the starting line up though.

Stallard banged his first goal since his return to Meadow Lane this afternoon. 5 minutes in to the second half he scored the only goal of the match and gave Notts County a 1-0 win over Swansea.
