I noticed something not seen before, I scored a goal early in first half and during the second half when the ball was out for a throw in, the game showed the replay of my goal again.

Yeah thats a very good feature in the game where it shows you goals and significant chances from earlier in the game.

A cool feature is the referee making bad calls. Like calling for offside when the player acctually is onside. Calling a corner when the ball wasn't over the line, and stuff like that.

I think its a bit mental that they have made Norwich the best team in the game, i beat Roma, Milan and Chelsea, then every player on Norwich's team was like Zidane, even Shevchenko couldn't get the ball away from Huckerby.

Seriously that is, as said on the UEFA 2005 Radio, 'absolutely horrific'... :kader:

some great addons i think.

- the black window around the field makes it more feeling that you are on the field
- the replays of moments in the games (not only goals!!)
- the movements with the ball (passing, etc.) are better than they made in fifa 2005

that's my opinion :)

It's just another moneymaking scheme from EA. However it has some ups here and there, but all in all, it still is far behind PES3 or 4.

Are you serious... you can't play multiplayer in this game. maybe I don't understand? So if I want to play against a buddy, I can't? That better not be a trend!!!!!!!!

You can play on EASports online.

EA Online is **** because it runs out after a year (so you're screwed if u dont want to buy the new same-game-different-year FIFA version every year). Also no LAN play is a f'ing joke, seriously, and come on, not just LAN play but the ability to have 2v2, etc... REAL MULTIplayer play, not just biplayer.. come on EA this is 2005, we expect u to have made some improvements in online game play in the past decade or so..

Always been a die hard FIFA fan... but getting screwed around like this consistently.. well, let's just say I'm glad PES and WE are now available for my system....

If EA sports releases another ****ty product for FIFA 2006 AND doesn't patch UEFA for direct IP/lan play, then it's good bye FIFA for good....

Don't say: the new same-game-different-year FIFA version

If i say the new same-game-different-year PES version i am right to!! It's just the gameplay is 10 times better than FIFA you guys don't say anything about PES... i like pes also more, but look to FIFA on the bright site: good graphics, realistic celebrating moves from a few players (like figo).. and even more :)

The hardcore soccer gamers can't live without not playing FIFA next years game :p

ok every one now let's talk about the deff between ea and konami
maybe all of us can feel that ea's look only for the earnings and avoied hacking there games
on the other side konami fouces on making u amazed from it's products and never get pooord so now we got major rules

1)the game play of win 11 and pes can't be comapred
2)ea must take it's last chance in fifa 2006 befor we say bye bye fifa 4 ever

3)don't ever never buy a game for ea tell they approve there products

somthin will make u laugh there is no changes in the player rats
it's the same as fifa2005 only a few kits and garaphics changes

so now everybody knows how ea deals with it's consumers

I definately think the game plays better than Fifa2005 & as I mainly like to play CL, I don't feel sorry buying it, even though it might be another "fill-our-pockets" title from EA.

Just 1 thing is at the same time good & annoying: some missions in season mode!
EG:My chairman wants me to score with new striker Chevanton & I need at least 55% possession: I am playing Munchen and I am loosing 1-0 with 10 minutes to play:
Normally you try an all-out-attack, but now your on 2 thoughts: sh*t, my possession is only 50%, so I keep passing the ball around to fullfill my chairman's wish, meaning I won't create a chance! Than Totti goes 1 on 1 with the keeper, but Chevaqnton has to score, so I pass the ball to him instead of trying to score with Totti! The result was I got my possession at 55%, but I lost 1-0! If I didn't have to fullfill my "score-with-Chevanton"mission, I might have got a draw, as I would have tried to score with Totti!

Apart from that, I really like the game, I can recommend it! But if you don't like the CL and you mainly like online-play or a season-play WITH smaller leagues & divisions, you'd might reconsider buying it. If you like the CL: buy it, this is better than the last FIFA!

Some well-thought out comments by MagicRoma!

The gameplay is indeed a deviation from the otherwise dour complexion it has assumed in other FIFA games. Oppositional players are more responsive and there is a little more fluidity in the passing.

EA Sports Talk Radio provides the game with that much needed umph and touch of class that highlights this installment as one that truly focuses on the appreciation of the sport rather than solely on the graphical nicities.

The commentary is stunningly superb.

EA Games are not meant to accurately emulate the styles and flow of real football. They are geared towards to re-creating the actual thrills and spills any FAN would feel when watching the game on television. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So if your'e a technical gameplay enthusiast, stick to Winning Eleven 8. ;)

Cheers

the commentary is superb? Sorry, it's the same speech engine just with 2 different commentators. And they use A LOT of the same lines as Alistair McCoist and the other bloke used to use...

EA Talk Radio is a joke, and irrelevant. You win a big Champ's League match, and they talk about the margin of victory solely, whether it was too close for comfort (2-1) or a blowout (6-0).

cannonbomber
16-02-2005, 03:29:AM
who are the new commentators?

MikeyM
16-02-2005, 04:49:AM
Clive Tyldsley and Andy Gray. The commentary is great. However I had the opportunity to play the PS2 version last week and I was horribly dissappointed because the game has some excellent new features but is wrecked by awful slowdown - I assume the X-Box is also similarly affected (If not I might chance it)

Pros:

The presentation is top notch, the commentary is superb.
Replays after each stoppage of play, nice touch.
Substitution animations and notification through captions.
ITV style scorebar information slider (scrolls out of scoreboard) giving you game statistics etc.

Cons:

Rougher edged graphics - though I was on PS2 and not the X-Box.
S-L-O-W- -D-O-W-N! Though Action cam did improve it a bit.
Why the borders, I lost half the screen!
Computer and Keeper A.I Terrible - Roy Carroll just stands there and leaves Vieira to walk past him (OK maybe this was just a random glitch)
Delay between button press and command execution, for example: Cristiano Ronaldo clear on goal, press circle to shoot - Ronaldo stands there for 2 seconds and Arsenal player nicks ball. Played FIFA 2005 last night on X-Box same situation but as I hit the button he shoots immediately!

As I said, it's got some nice ideas, but the gameplay is inferior to FIFA 2005. And that's the main drawback.

Just got the game today on gamecube, after reading reviews. And this is even better than fifa 2005, i dont even wanna play PES round ma m8s now, cause CL gameplay is even better, and the atmosphere is great!

Also the season mode is a great idea, from what i played so far!
