Our family moved back to Scotland in 1971 for 2 years before returning to New Zealand. My dad used to take me to watch Liverpool, Leeds, Everton play, we would take a day trip down from Aberdeen to watch these teams play. One day he took me to see Manchester United play Leeds at Elland road.
I saw George Best play that day. I have never since seen anyone play the way he played that day, it was unbelievable. Dumb reason I know but from then on I was a Manchester United fan, he was simply breathtaking.

well from what i`ve seen the Belfast boy was a class act but wee Jinky Johnstone was a miracle worker.
Come to think of it i don`t hate Manu because i was really happy when they Beat Buyern Munich. I think i do like them but i am still a bit angry about the FA Cup and League last season Arsenal diserved at least one, Manu were just greedy.

Georgie Best was magical - no doubt about that.

I for one love Manchester because:

1)They play beautiful, classic English football with many high crosses.

2)They have no "mean" players. You know what I'm talking about...Poyet, Maradona (at his day)...

3)They have "style" - winning unwinable games, scoring beautiful goals...

4)They have a certain radiant glow about them...it sounds stupid, but it makes me cheer for them!

5)Danm, they're good... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

6)Everyone else hates them

7)The Munich air crash. Sad...

8)They kicked the Germans' butt, and that's good enough for me!!

Merry Millennium!
