Yeah but what a shame that they couldn't win the Gold Cup. Us minnows up in Canada are still enjoying that one.
It's funny, actually. They went and hired a German coach named Holger Osieck, who went out and found a bunch of Canadians playing European football. Worked out pretty well. They're waaaay boring to watch compared to the U.S. because they have absolutely no scoring punch. But their defence is phenomenal, as evidenced in the win over Mexico and the easy win over Colombia in the final.
I sure do wish they had a few of your goal scorers, though...

If Radzinkski played for Canada (he refuses to do so), then it'd be problem solved.

Wooooo!!!!

Best game I've seen them play in a very long time. Reyna and Jones did great!!

You might be right. Actually, he didn't refuse to play period, just for a period of play (sorry, I work at a tab newspaper and goofy wordplay tends to creep into these things.) He didn't show for the Gold Cup and Osieck got all ticked and said he'd never play for his team again.
Not the smartest move from a guy who's been brilliant otherwise. I'm really surprised they haven't converted Robbie Arristodemo from the Univ. of Tulsa into a striker, as his size, speed and ball handling seem better suited to it. Looks like Peschisolido's best days are behind him - didn't Stalteri play striker at one point? and they could move up David Xausa, whom I think scored 10 or so in the Scottish league this year.
