View Full Version : Triangle throwin

I bet everyone noticed, yet haven't talked about how throwin using triangle hey has been screwed up in this years installment.
In PES3 I used it a lot, it was very effective coz you could throw the ball ahed for player to run clear of defender and it worked well on wings near the box. Now istead of doing that thing, thrower tosses the ball right in legs or even belly of poor teammate who would usually push it over the line again because thrower just darted it furiousli right into he's body.
Am I missing something?

I don't think triangle throw in was available in last years installment. It was either X(for short) or O(for long).

I agree about the triangle not workin properly , its no where near like pes3/we7 was.

Why change it when it was fine?

Are you kidding?! Do I have to install Pes3 and capture the thing on video for you?
EDIT: I was replying to Nuno's post

I just checked myself. I just never really used it I guess. My bad.

Anyway it works fine in PES4, in my personal opinion. Does it really bother you that much? It's just throw ins, man.

Gnidrologist

Yes, it bother's me much:taz:
It's no just a throw in, it's THROW IN!!!
And it does not work in PES4 at all.
With triangle throwin you could get great openings for your offensive players on the wings, now you can only throw into the players feet.

Hmmm....I've only used triangle a few times for throw-ins. Sure some times it may get stolen or sometimes I rush it and the player fumbles it. For the most part it works just fine.

I could understand ur whining if the goal or the players were missing in the game...but come on...do u want me to whine just cause i dont feel PES is reality?!!?

No. Now I want to whine about you still being on pitch despite red carded couple of times. That isn't reality for sure.

 Fine means that the throwin goes to the intended player. What's there to explain?

Stay on target...STAY ON TARGET...

Nuno, does anything NOT work perfect for you?..you act like the game is 400% perfect, not once have I seen you say the game has a glitch etc..

And niceman, you can talk about staying on target ROFL..

And yes the throw-ins are just ANOTHER glitch in the game, 80% of the time the person I throw the ball controls it like a fish and it goes back over the line. This is most likely another cheating tactic by the CPU.

You need to quit exagerrating. No where did I say it was perfect.

Oh and I laughed a little when you said 80% of your thowins go back over the line.

Ok I missed it, my bad.

And I laugh also, although it obviously aint 80%, but put it this way, its happens far too much.

Maybe for you, but not for everyone. That's what you have to realize. I'm not lying to you when I say it doen't happen that often to me.

Yea but I just find is incredible how some people say the game doesnt cheat, really is.

Everyone I know says it cheats, I just wonder if the people who say it doesnt cheat actually play the game, because as hard as I try to ignore the cheating, its impossible due to the ammount of cheating the game does.

Nuno

Let's not get into that again. We'll be arguing for hours. Let's just stay on topic.

they must cheat to be a strong opponent on 6 stars, there are no perfect AI to simulate human (yet)

we should be happy it's not as much noticeable, as it was in eg. older FIFAs, where the hardest difficulty level meant that your rival could do everything and you could do nothing, plus they always were faster than you

PES does cheat but I can live with it...
..ok, sometimes pisses me off when I play 6 stars and all opposite players are so great defenders, and its forwards can take the ball from me with light touch as they all would be Nesta & Maldini put together :P

about throw ins.. is it me or there is fourth type of long throw in by pressing "O" twice?
- O - normal long throw with that new animation
- 2x O - long throw while standng up (like in PES3)

Nuno
17-02-2005, 03:06:AM
Right. It's not perfect, but it is the best.

I find that the more focused you are the better you'll can play the game.

kingpug
17-02-2005, 04:04:AM
See that is the problem, on 6 stars I can live with the cheating because its obviously the hardest level, but on 3 stars?..no, I cant live with that.

"your rival could do everything and you could do nothing, plus they always were faster than you"

Well the way I see it, this is exactly what it is like with PRO.

You stumble = nothing
They stumble = freekick

There GK saves everything
Your GK doesnt, and when he does he parries it to the CPU's head/feet

I had a player called Rosales with 99 speed and acceleration, and put it this way, he never ONCE ran fast..
But when you play against someone with 99 speed and acceleration, you cant outrun them?..

These are just a few examples :)

Hi. Could you please fix you pic of Rooney. I'm sure you've been told it's too big. 300x100 is the max.

Hmm, I wonder why does no one get my point and Nuno's cluelesness about the throwin thing.
In PES3 when you push a /\ for throwin, player would toss the ball in open space so the partner could run on to it thus avoiding defender and getting in open space if he's fast enough.
In PES4 pushing /\ causes some kind of baseball pitch as if the thrower would like to hurt the target.
Usual x and o throws works fine.

1. I know what triangle does for thow ins in PES4. It's a throw in through pass. For me it works.

2. Did you insult niceman?

1. Doesn't work for me. I mean never. Receiver always tries and stops the ball automatically. Weird, what am I doing wrong.

2. No.

And yes you did go off subject and take a cheapshot at niceman.

Finaly someone has the balls to admit it, well done. :rockman:

And Nuno can you record a game of yours?..because it really AMAZES me how you dont get these problems, and I would more than LOVE to watch you play just to see if you really are telling the truth.

Can you do that for me?

I would be in my glory to be able to play PRO the way you do *kingpug daydreams*

Do you have any fun at all playing PES4?

I studied the throwins yesterday. They work fine. I think I only messed up one and that's cause I rushed it.

I have to agree with Gnidrologist, sometimes the triangle throw-in's don't work. And it really pisses me off when I press the X button, sometimes the defender takes the ball weirdly with his foot or his knee and let's the ball roll outside the line again.

The PES3 throw-in method returns in WE8:I (the one released in March). Good news!

The old method should be reverted, that's for sure, but I don't exactly understand what do you mean by ''WE8:I (the one released in March)''. Yet another version of the same game (talking about greed). Is it for PS2 only (as per usual).

And BTW, what is this thread doing in this forum branch now. Where's the footage?!:borat:  :borat:
