Ok guys i'm a Fifa fan but looking in to WE8 can you tell me the Pro's and Con's of the game Please

But be honest!!!

To be short:

Pro's:
- Much better gameplay than FIFA
- Much smoother graphics

Con's:
- Not as many licenses as FIFA

Since you asked, the biggest PRO is that WE's gameplay makes FIFA look plain silly. If you're after a better, deeper, more all-around fun and exciting footy experience, you'll find it here.

Again, since you asked, don't just "look into it." Buy, rent or borrow the game. Play 10 matches and you'll beat yourself over the head for wasting so much time with FIFA.

Hell, if you're in the U.S., you can probably probably pick up a used copy of WE6:I for a few bucks -- although two generations old, WE6:I still has better gameplay than FIFA 2005.

They are both great games and I recommend you play both even if you think one is better. Where one will tick you off the other will compliment it. ;)

The only thing that feels like real football is, well, real football.

That being said, PES3, and now PES4 (which is, essentially but not exactly, WE8) "feel" closer, in terms of the gameplay, than the FIFA series. From the player movement to the passing to the shots and resultant chances, to the AI and employable strategic level of the gameplay, to the intensity of the occasion as expressed by the resultant celebrations, to the freedom in set pieces and throw-ins to the crowd dynamics to the rain physics to the clear depth (and longevity of gameplay) in terms of adjustable everything (tactics, player positions, faces, whatever...see my graphical posts here (http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&threadid=111657&perpage=15&highlight=&pagenumber=1) for an examination of the depth of the tactical aspects of the sim) to the fully programmable controls...Konami put in work to give us a solid alternative to the FIFA series.

Cons? Licensing, number of teams, and the ML (IMO); I'd rather have a wide-open and editable league structure than the falseness of the ML...but that's just me.

Licensing has been solved by the community here and on other boards.

I suggest you give WE8 a try; I don't personally know of anyone who, having tried it, has gone back to a celebration ofthe FIFA series in termso f the "pros" I've listed above. I have seen posts HERE by such people, but I don't know any personally. I know alot of folks, however, who have played PES/WE who have never picked up FIFA again. But that's just my reality, others have different ones.

I look forward to you returning here and giving us your feedback on the Konami effort.

Well it's fantastic :rockman: At first i dident like it at all but i changed the gamepad settings so its just like Fifa's.

once i did that wooosh the game woke up, it did seem slow at first but i'm getting use to it (mabe it dose need to be a little faster?) and i like the ball phiz (real nice) and the graphics are not all that bad. i'm just playing the demo at the moment cos the nearest shop that i can get the game is 7 hours away. But i do like it and i'm going to buy it when i get a chance ;)

dose anyone know where i can get demo expander from. :)

i'm not saying that it's better than fifa 2005 but it just what i'm looking for in a footy game. :crazyboy:

I recommed to any footie fan to own and play both. I like FIFA better but when it ticks me off I go play PES/WE. :D

i 've never played MLS?

but as i'm playing PES4 there is a lot of stuff that i miss about Fifa

on fifa you can control the player that you are passing to so you can make him run in to space on PES4 you have to wait for them to find space (not good)

I'm enjoying playing PES4 but i think fifa has a lot more to offer but the phisics on PES4 is much much better.

PS. i come from London, England mate, And fifa has all ways been the top seller there and the rest of the world too i would say and that's a fact!!!!!

If you didn`t know most PES/WE versions had gone platinum..and the reason why FIFA outsells PES/WE is mainly because of the licensing issues Konami are experiencing.

One QUESTION that has never been answered and I`ve asked alot of FIFAbois and they never give me the right answer simply because they are pu$$ies :p .

Right - I'm a PES-gamer and I , like all the other REAL pes-gamers, don't need fifa. I've had the original version of fifa2005 for 3 days, i was shocked, how boring the gameplay was, and sold it via ebay. And here's my final conclusion: why do fifa-fanboys like shaft085 or deftones h i t17 or robbie need our game, if u think fifa's gameplay is better. Note: We, as Pes-Gamers, don't need to play ur favourite footy game fifa, as we all know that its gameplay is total bulls h i t. Of course, fifa's graphics are nice, but in the end, it's the gameplay that counts! Fifa's ball physics are total crap just like the new features and the s h itty freekick and corner-system. So, there is no need for pes-gamers even to test fifa as we all know that it's gameplay is in many cases even worse than pes2's. BUT, u fifa gamers aren't convinced about fifa and that's the reason for trying pes, and after u notice that it's too hard for u, u switch back to play fifa and write in this forum that it's better, just because of ur inability to play it properly (win matches without problem on ******)

@robbie: i accept it than u enjoy both games and i'm NOT narrow-minded, look: fifa's graphics and the fact that they've got the official licences is a real advantage in EA's series, i wish i could see so many very detailed stadiums in WEI (I'm playing we8i instead of pes4 as it is much better!), BUT according to the gameplay pes4 is in almost everything better than fifa and that's the main reason why i won't switch back to EA's game (maybe if they'd cooperate with konami)

sorry, but the great majority of pes-gamers don't go back to fifa and even don't test it

OK ive said that PES4 is a better game

and at the moment i'm playing all the time because i love the Phisics of the game and the graphics arnt that bad at all in some ways there better

it just pissis me off that little boys like diggi 10 think thay know it all when thay know nuthing about anything!!!

about the two communities: i don't hate u people cuz u like fifa, but i don't like complaining about pes in the way to argue against the gameplay just because of the inability of some of u, who still don't know how to play the game properly. I was disappointed as well about pes4, but after playing we8i, which is much smoother, i know that it's definitely the best footy game (talking about we8i)

btw. there are also aspects, which made fifa & pes-gamers cooperate:e.g. the ball-revolution, which makes it possible to use the same ball-mdl in fifa05 and pes4/we8i, so the two communities can share the ball-textures

they look the same-yes, but if u play both games and look a bit closer at the gameplay u'll surely notice the differences. first, the game runs much smoother and the responsiveness is better(talking about the pc-versions of both games). in we8i, the player stats affect the gameplay more than in pes4: it makes it easier to outrun defenders with players like henry. passing is better as well. handballs are back(but rarely) and some annoying bugs were fixed as well. just check wolf's thread in the pes/we section, he's listed all the differences.

if u're happy with ur pes4, don't buy we8i, if not, i'd recommend to try the we8idemo and play several matches.

So let me get this straight. One of the biggest complaints from PES/WE fans is how EA makes 2 games a year which is just like tweaks and fixed flaws in gameplay. This is going to all PES fans, I don't ever want to hear that crap again since the same friggin game just in a different area is different in PES/WE land. Hell at least with FIFA 05, the PAL version and the NTSC version were identical. Not tweaked for the lastest relase like Konami has to do. Now UEFA is a new game completely from FIFA 05. WE8I is not a new game from PES4. It is like a friggin patched version of the identical game. I still find it very very unrealistic how almost every player in PES/WE can do a heel pass, so I dont find the skill stats to make much of a difference at all. In real life only very highly skilled players can pull this pass off right. In PES/WE almost every player in the game can pull it off and it goes perfectly to their teammate. Thats sad, since PES/WE is made out to be some super realistic game.

in fifa stats are much worse reflected on the pitch as nearly every player is able to do the jayjay okocha trick without any problems, btw. a normal heel pass is not that hard to do in reality, i did them often as i was playing in midfield 2 years before, so i think it's a basic move and the accuracy depends on the player's short pass skills and they DO influence the pass(try a heel pass with a player with bad short pass skills)

Stop playing the game on amateur. Only skilled players can do complicated tricks the right way. If you play the game on Pro or World Class the trick will fail if you try them with a low skilled player. They often loose the ball and stumble.
