I just joined yesterday, but I need to know, do I need a certain patch installed?

well for pes obviously you need the 1.1 patch. you can get that on the konami website.

but for winning eleven 8 you dont need the patch

Are you talking about the site or the launcher mate?

Get the latest version from http://www.pes4launcher.co.uk/

make sure you turn the version you have now off (exit) and uninstall.

Can you use the PS2 version and use the PS2 internet? Because my PC is slow and won't run PES4 on it I don't think...

PS2 version of PES4 doesn't have online support for it, even if it did you wouldn't be able to play against someone with a PC version of the game.
